I don't see why her motives would give her any characterization when we know so little about her and what kind of person she was. Why does she want to save the world? What will that do for her? And then we get to know her true goal was just being together forever with Pochita. What will I do with this information when I don't know anything about her personality? Her life? I just have to believe this was her goal because she was the control devil. We didn't spend enough time with her.
Throughout the entire manga, she was this mysterious figure who anyone with common sense would understand was going to be the final villain. However, that's all we know about her until the final arc. She doesn't do much. We just have to believe she does some vague evil stuff and that is contributing to her grand plan. By the time her motives were revealed, I could care less about her. And even then, as I mentioned earlier, there was no characterization to go along with her motives.
And talking about her motives,
I also believe there are other good female antagonist in csm like reze and Santa claus
Depending on monologues is the last thing I want in csm .
Also she isn’t the final antagonist when we still have part 2 .
As an antagonist makima did her job by converting Simp denji into a guy who defeated her , proving her entire world view was wrong and humiliating her .
I mean denji character mainly described through makima and she played an major role in denji’s life .
She has many strong points for a villain and it’s rare for a female villain to make mysterious scary appearance and maintain it constantly till the end .
For a battle shonen I think she is pretty well written.
1) She is a fan of Chainsaw Man and wants him to help her erase the concepts she wants to and doesn't mind getting eaten if she loses. That's fine but then she knowingly promotes CSM as a hero to weaken him and then taunts him for being weak. She is even frustrated that CSM is weak. Also what happened to that admiration she had for CSM?
First of all she is disappointed that he didn’t eaten her.
Infact Makima said that he killed her multiple times and was pissed that he still refused to eat her . She was also disappointed that her plan worked , that her hero that she put on a pedestal was beaten so easily. On one half she wants to beat him and control him, but on other she wants to be eaten and become a part of him as a twisted form of love .
2) Her actions betray her goals. She wants to make the world a better place...yet not even once does she care about the world or the humans. Her actions have caused the death of so many people but she wants to save the world? Why would she care if people don't remember anything evil? She doesn't have any proper motive to fight for her goals.
that's kinda the point she is a hypocrite on her ideals and goals . She is also too obsessive in her love and fangirl ideal of her hero. Proven further when her the Control Devil couldn't see that she was fighting pochita (her hero) and not denji in the final fight, she is flawed and cant even see things that are right in front of her.
3) All her life she tried to exert control over others and she wants to form equal relationships? When did we even see her try to form an equal relationship? Never. All her actions work against this motive.
She is the control devil, she has to be in control. On this point makima basically represents an abuser in an abusive relationship. Like abusers in real life they might justify and or genuinely think that it's the only way to form relationships.
The abusive relationship parallels are shown the most obvious with what she does to denji throughout the story to break him.
Her actions don't align with her goals and have no conviction. So she is someone who caused so much destruction and killed so many people for her senseless half-baked motives.
Her goal was always to achieve chainsawman devil ( pochita) and her actions to make denji hollow was successful and bringing back Hell hero Chainsawman .
all the farce she made like removing hunger, war etc.. for achieving chainsawman in the end , so I won’t take her “saving humans” as her real goal here even im also confused with her motives but it was like a cover up plan to achieve chainsawman , did she ever cared about her subordinates? In the end she was raised by a corrupted government and become one .

she's hot ngl but there's gotta be something else right?
Why don't you just see it for yourself when the Anime comes out? People can be sometimes misleading so it's not a safe bet to rely on their opinions Of the characters.
