I admit there are some aimed for kids or some that are really childish that they seem to be for kids. From my personal experiences, those who regard animes as "just for kids" are those who have never really watched an anime, or those who have watched only popular titles such as naruto,bleach and put animes together with cartoons.LOL They dun even know animes and cartoons are different. I can say that because there are some friends of mine who are just plain anime haters and label me as being childish for watching animes. |

| well I would say that the concept of anime is rather something you would expect from a kid show (the cartoon part of it), but when you look at whats behind the "kiddy cartoon" you will find that to be a very, VERY, big misconception. I mean most anime are not even target at younger audiences it is just that America has merely popularized those that target younger people (like Naruto) so that many people don't see that the majority of anime is not something you should be watching a pre-teen watch. |

| Obviously anime is not 'just for kids'. There are genres for kids, but to say all anime is for kids just indicates how ignorant or dense a person is. Most people who have no inkling of what anime is all about just assume anime=cartoon which is why they come up with such silly assumptions. The best way would be to show them a hentai and then ask them whether they still think anime is just for kids. |

Normally adults dont watch cartoon, and people who don't watch anime probably dont know the difference.The cartoon industry is making it for children, but the anime industry is not aiming only for children. | Clueless people seem to assume anime is for kids because the only shows they've been exposed to are the likes of Pokemon, Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh. If they aired Berserk on primetime TV no one would associate anime with kids. Your friend needs to do a little research before he assumes such things. |

| I remember when I was watching an episode of Naruto Shippuden, my best friend asked me "are you watching pokemon?" LOL Well, I can say that definitely most of the animes I watch are not for kids, though some might be for teenagers. Obviously, kiddy anime exists(Digmon, Pokemon, Monster Rancher, etc.) that I all thoroughly enjoyed when I was younger. To think that anime is just for kids makes we want to facepalm. |
