| Damn, I was expecting a little more laid back, development oriented episode but they really threw is into the fire here didn't they? To be honest, while everyone might love the story. The shift from the more survival (Man vs Beast) oriented story to a political war theme isn't really to my liking for this particular series. Not to say that it's bad, it's still pretty good but it's not really my preference given the survival elements was what I loved the most about it. Good episode on the whole, action sequences were great especially the titan air strike, that was some insane stuff. Animation is fine, the CG is fine. Everyone hates on the CG for some reason. If I had to pick, the shift in perspective to the war feels a little jarring from the end of the last season as an anime only. The episode is great from a sort of blockbuster standpoint so I hope they'll patch us up with some more story detail in the future. |

| Animation doesn't look bad at all, I'm quite impressed with it! I can't really give any predictions as to what's gonna happen but whatever it is, I'm excited! I'm getting kinda emotional watching this cause I started watching AOT when I was in 7th grade and now I'm in my second year of college... It was one of the first anime I got into and I've been watching it alongside my brother all this time! We've been watching this anime together for 7 years now! It's been with us for so long, and now it's like, it'll all be over soon... |
| the cg wasn't as good as we thought it was but it was definitely not bad. Although there were times where the cg is bad, the titan designs made up for it i guess. THE OP AND ED THOUGH ABSOLUTE FIRE. Jean in the end really cool too. |

| This was amazing, it was a joy seeing Galliard, Reiner and Zeke. The animation and coloring for the Jaw Titan was amazing. There was some CGI but it was very well done, and I had no problems with it. I do hope they don’t rely on it too much heavily in the future, but not bad at all. They did use CGI for the Colossus in previous seasons, and it seems they might use it more. However it was still very good for CGI. The OP is probably my favorite SnK OP. I didn’t expect it. Very dark and the visuals are really grim and cool. The ED is good and feels very SnK with also a touch of Egoist? Overall I have no doubt MAPPA will continue to deliver. Animation and art for the most part was on point. This is the first time I’ve read a manga before its anime adaptation. Gosh, this is exciting! |

| I'm not trying to be rude or anything but do some people not know how to read ? it was clearly explained that this is happening 4 years after the big fight in the middle of last season or about 3 years after the last episode. |

| As an anime-only, and seeing that there are already so many comments talking about the animation, I will only discuss the plot. 1. Less hyped about this episode than I thought because i don't know any of the charcters (lack of attachement i guess?) and therefore it felt like i was watching a completly different anime that i didn't really care for. 2. The reiner/zeke attack bit was super cool 3. Bummed because of what's implied. I mean a titan shifter's life span is only 13 yo so they gotta pass out the power to someone else, but I refuse to watch the original cast, aka reiner, zeke etc get eaten and replaced by this new cast. Aint living for this gig 4. With the jaw titan in action, ymir is confirmed dead. Rip 5. We love spy jean, ~infiltrating marley- . spot the imposter Can't wait to switch back to our main cast but i guess we wont be seeing that anytime soon |
| Damn those throwaway eldian's from the airplane was absolutely disgusting, Marley should fall. Looking forward to next week! Ymir has to be gone due to that new titan running around, Reiner and Zeke will almost be replaced. I wonder when that'd be. I'm REALLY wondering what the main cast have been upto, especially Eren... he seemed to be a whole different person last episode. |

| war fucking sucks thanks AoT for reminding me ,damn i'm glad i'm suppose to feel confused because throwing us right into the fray with new characters and a time skip will do that kept thinking man we really should've killed Reiner back then then ending hits "did this boy nearly died in the first episode?" really selling the case of the Era of titans is reaching it's end unless they somehow get some crazy powers they aren't as strong as they used to be(loved the airborne unit scene shit was fucked) as were a lot of parts in this. kinda figured first episode would be mostly talking about the the studio change and how "awful" it is Mappa did good hopefully they can keep it up the whole way Beast was the only really bad looking titan the others looked mostly fine i do hope they give us some good shots of them and not all CG. OP is questionable ED is alright gonna have to listen a bit more i wonder if we'll even have Sawano still for the BGM |

| This was better than i thought honestly. Especially with how people have been badmaouthing MAPPA lately. The opinion about the OP is completely split by two sides, and i for once, actually love it (unlike the same case with Red Swan). The pacing is really great. Mind you that despite being a manga reader, i actually have no idea what was going on on these first chapters of the new arc. Lol But now i actually understand what's going on. XD The Titans CGI looks too jarring sometimes (especially the beast titan one) but as someone who's not unfamiliar with CGIs, this one actually still looks really good. Edit: reading some of the discussion above, i feel like i need to remind you guys.. The story isn't made by MAPPA . So blaming MAPPA for the story is... Lolz captain3xtreme said: Why why why why why would they change the studio for the final season? Iirc i read in the article that the director (? I forgot who) said that WiT said they couldn't handle the last season (iirc it's implied that they give up..? Probably seeing what will come or forced release year). And when asking around about the offer to animate this last season, only MAPPA wants to do it and took this highly risky adaptation. So tbf imo I'm glad MAPPA took over at all Edit 2: added what other people said why WiT gave up continuing it. |

| Well, i was shocked at first, because the episode started with the characters in a battle field and I really liked that action and the animation. I think the titans' cg are a bit weird, but i thought the same for the wit studio's colossal titan. The character designs are so different, it's gonna take a while for us to get used to it, so i can't say right now if I think it's good or bad, because of the studio change and it's way too early to say it. I think the 2-d looked great and despite everything i said above, i think the animation throughout the whole episode was good. The op is a bit... strange lol. When i was watching it i was thinking to myself "man, every fucking season the ops change so much" and it was the same for this one, although i don't think i'm gonna like it too much as it's just EXPLOSIONS lol. The thing that got me this episode was the pacing. I wasn't expecting this much to happen in the first episode and they just went all in. I could go on and on about this and cite everything you just saw, like the colossal and the beast titan destroying that territory, but i won't. But yeah i really wanna emphasize this, the pacing was so fuckkiing good, the actions scenes were Mwah! amazing! My theories for the guy that said he was fighting titans in his dream or something like that, are 2 : either he's reincarnated as a marlian or he saw someone elses' memories through the coordinates. The beast titan and the armor titan are fucked as they are gonna get eaten by those warriors, although i don't think they'll let that happen so easily... and oh, Reiner is hurt, a lot i think, but we can't say with certainty. That guy at the end reading the newspaper, is he a spy for the eldians or something? I really like our new characters especially colt and gabi, she was so smart to make that plan. The one who was seeing things looks like a cool guy too, as well as the other 2? warriors the marleyans are using the eldians as they may and they're doing whatever they want with them. They've guilt tripped them so much that they're willing to do absolutely anything for the marleyans. Who are the devils now? you're literally sending people to their death and killing so many people in wars and you call the eldians devils? stfu, eren please kill these bastards. not everyone though, because not every marleyan is like that. at least i hope. if i could choose, i'd have wit do this season, but yeah, the world is unfair. I just hope mappa did a great job the ed is so beautiful too with that explosion at the end. Overall really looking forward to the next sunday, if this episode was this good and we didn't even see our main characheters, and judging by the preview, i can't even imagine what the next episode is gonna be like. Please keep up this pace, i'm loving it. |

Specifically (for me at least I was wondering whether these parts were intended or censored) when you watch the scene after the Titans drop in (regular ones), the smoke covering the arms of some, the eye of the other one, and the hand covering the guy being eaten and a blood explosion instead of maybe seeing a completely ripped off arm, gigantic hole in the head with maybe some skull fragments, skin tears, and brain matter, and even a person being bitten in half. I mean if I was the one making the animation decisions on how to include these events I think I would have went the route with more blood guts and gore, but that’s just my personal opinion. |

| I was so annoyed with the OP that I almost forgot to enjoy the Anime! But after watching the 1st episode I was like, "Alright, it suits the tone of the Anime" The OST was beautiful and Legendary. CGI not up to the mark but they did try their best to keep the art style of Armoured titan and beast titan the same. ED was good too. Can't wait to see our old boys in the house. |

| WOW! Can't believe it's finally back, the King is back! First of all, Mappa didn't do a bad job after all, like it's clear that it's not the same studio but they still did a good job, the music and the fights were really intense and epic, for a start it was amazing! Watching all of the titans falling onto the city, and that final blow by the beast titan, damn! The whole conquest of the city was so epic! So for sure what we are seeing now is probably the memories of their ancestors. So this is happening after the war were the titans lost and now are being used by the Marley to conquer territories, and things aren't as good for them as before, so i guess we will see the foundation of the 3 walls, can't believe it! Next episode, can't wait! |

| damn , it felt like I was in the war field. animation was good. voice acting was far better. BTW who are they fighting? are humans fighting other humans? and only marely have eldians fighters? can someone answer this question without spoiling the future episodes? and further more if they keep up the quality attack on titan will be the most popular and perfect anime show of all time also mappa will become a giant in the anime industry. don't forget to thanks mappa on their social media for their hard work and don't forget to rate the episodes. |

| Suddenly, all the fans are scriptwriters, directors, music composers, and have all the experience in the world doing anime series in their resume. Was a great episode for me, but it's probably my last post on these threads. Only thing I didn't like was the music. Didn't feel like Sawano at all. Ayaneru made a great performance as Gabi, which I really hate as a character. Waiting for next week. |
