@PhillyFlash Chio's School Road was a great time from start to finish. Manana is one of my favorite characters because of how hard she embraces her loser lifestyle and is quick to drag anyone she can down to her level. |

Agree, looks like this could be an interesting show this season. I'm also watching: Gal & Dino (first ep was a bit strange, will persevere, as strange can be fun) Honzuki S2 -go Maine! This season I will give two shows a chance, Gleipnir and Tower of God. Is anyone else going to watch these shows? Also, I am looking forward for new seasons of some shows, but they postponed for obvius reasons. The shows I wait for are Kaguya-sama and RE:Zero. Later in the year; The Rising of the Shield Hero will be awesome to watch, I think! Take care, y´all! |

Watched the first episodes of HameFura and Kakushigoto today. Will probably watch these two series through to the end. I'm hoping that the former doesn't go downhill like Netjuu no Susume(sic) did. The latter I suspect won't stumble given the show's DNA. |

I originally planned to pick up a lot more, but many were delayed due to covid. Of the ones released, I've started watching: Appare-Ranman! BNA Gleipnir Kami no Tou Shironeko Project: Zero Chronicle From previous seasons I've got Black Clover and Plunderer, and from the backlog I've already gotten to the halfway mark of Kimetsu no Yaiba. |

What I'm currently watching along with some thoughts now we're half way through the Spring season: Appare-Ranman - really enjoying this historical comedy based on wacky racers, sad to see it on hold. Gal & Dino - quirky show with a super hot live action gyaru, Kaede, although the anime version is hotter. Not for everyone this show. Honzuki S2 - such a beautifully intricate look into the workings of a fantasy world. Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater - on hold atm Kaguya sama S2 - on par with the brilliant S1 Tower of God - loving this so far Wave, Listen to Me - Minare, the MC is one of those MC you instantly fall in love with OreYubi - interesting premise & story for a vanilla hentai My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! - this has been a surprise hit for me. The writing is superb. PriConne - much better than I ever expected, funny cgdct with a bumbling guy Shachibato! President, It's Time for Battle! - it's ok, the standard isekai model anime Shironeko - nice animation & some flashy battles, nice to look at Tsugu Tsugumomo - following on from the astounding S1, I love Kiriha & Kazuya together, they match well |

Hello, My spring 2020 list: - A3! I play this game and am totally into my fav character, the seiyuu and the butai cast (Summer 2020 on DVD is on it's way, DHL will deliver it today or next week!!), so this anime is a party for me :) Objectively speaking, for a game based anime, it's okay. Well, I've seen worse that is ;) - Ahiru no Sora Ongoing series, I like it. Not as catchy as some other sports anime with 1 match spreading over like 8 episodes ;) but it's interesting enough. - Appare-ranman Really liked the start of this one! Too bad it's on hold now, looking forward to the continuation. - Arte Nice series. I really like the main, even put her in my favourites list :) - Bungou to Alchemist Another game adaption I started to watch because of the cast. Not really outstanding, but I'll finish it nonetheless. - Hachi-nan tte Nothing special but an entertaining way to spent 24 minutes in the weekend ;) - Kakushigoto Surprised me of how much I like it! Story, animation, cast: all top. - Komatta Jiisan Cute 1 minute series about an eldery couple. - Listners I guess it's a nice series but I doesn't seem to catch me, even after 8 episodes. Waiting for that to happen, or the end of the series ;) - Nami yo Kiitekure I like this series. It's something different than usual and that's good :) - Olympia Kyklos Short series, funny and I like the animation (for the 5 minutes it lasts, if this were a regular 24 minutes I would probably get irritated by it). - Otomo game As an otomo game player I really had to see this series. I don't really know what to think of it but the relatable game elements are enjoyable :) That's it. Some shows were on my plan to watch but were postponed. Waiting for summer, it'll get busy :) |

A new season is finally underway, here's what I've picked up so far (including shows rolled over from last season that were suspended due to the virus): Appare Ranman (continued from Spring after being put on hold) Deca-Dence - this looks really interesting, great premise and interesting characters Dokyuu Hentai HxEros - simply ecchi with a plot and aliens Gal & Dino (continued from Spring after being put on hold) Houkago Teibou Nisshi/Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater (continued from Spring after being put on hold) The Misfit of Demon King Academy - fantasy school with OP protagonist Monster Girl Doctor - ecchi romance Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time - another ecchi romance, bordering on hentai. A guy becomes a fighting champion & wants to get married to his sexually innocent sweetheart, however he is now the target of many women after becoming champion. A story of how he deals with being tempted. Will he hold out for his sweetheart or will he succumb to temptation? Re: Zero 2nd Season SAO Alicization War of the Underworld S2 The God of Highschool - hype shounen battle tournament Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out - easy watching SoL series My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU S3: Oregairu Season 3 - the final installment in the Oregairu franchise. Expect lots of angsty teenage melodrama. Will Hachiman end up with a girlfriend, who will it be, Yukino or Yui (I'm for Yui)? A last minute addition: Lapis Re: Light - a cgdct fantasy magic show for some easy relaxed watching |

With the season fully underway, here's what I decided to pick up, including a few that are returning from pre-COVID (and one I stopped watching): Appare-Ranman! Black Clover Deca-dence Enen no Shouboutai: Ni No Shou Monster Musume no Oishasan Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd season Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld 2nd Season Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! Dropped: Gibiate - I wanted to give it a fair try because I thought there could be some fun in a cheesy B movie plot with time-traveling samurai saving the modern world from a virus that turns people into bug-monsters and I wasn't as put off by the art style as others were, but there were too many problems here to overlook. First, regardless of artistic preference, the animation is just bad everywhere that counts. The bargain basement CG monsters that look like they were pulled from mid-90s cartoons are an assault to your eyes to begin with, but then they move so poorly that it's hard to be scared of them or see them as much of a threat. And then the traditionally animated characters barely move much better. Everything feels very wooden - people float or slide from one side of the screen to the other, with slow or even unmoving sword strikes that don't feel like there's any weight behind them yet are supposed to be able to slice with ease through creatures who aren't even fazed by bullets most of the time (yet succumb to them when the plot demands). It honestly feels like we're watching a slide show or stick puppet theater whenever there's an "action" scene. Combining the above with strange scene wipes and transitions to other characters in near-still shots killing monsters just makes it even worse. It's like someone discovered slide transitions in Powerpoint for the first time and wanted to make sure they used each one in their class presentation. Moving past the animation and art, the plot and characters don't do much to salvage anything. I'm not going to criticize the B-movie monster plot or that the heroes of the human race would be traditional Japanese warriors and martial artists from the past, because I was here for that. But I will criticize the facts that A) the heroes aren't entirely bothered by it nor are they all that amazed or interested in the modern world from a technological or cultural standpoint, B) everyone in the modern world both immediately believes and totally accepts that samurai from feudal Japan popped up in the midst of the apocalypse to help them, and C) the bugs are nigh-invulnerable to modern assault rifles and yet are effortlessly destroyed by swords, wires, and fists/clubs wielded by strong buddhist monks. The only exception to the "immune to bullets" aspect of the bugs seems to be Adam (or maybe it was Brian), who dual wields assault rifles, because everyone knows if something is immune to something else, you only need to have 2 of those things to override the immunity. Of course, the bugs are also occasionally not bulletproof, but this only seems to happen once the samurai shows up to signify that the tide has shifted and the good guys are winning. Maybe he has some kind of "bug-vulnerability aura"? Oh, also the bugs are incredibly weak to tazers, but only one person on Earth seems to use one and no one else said, "hey, that seems pretty useful, why don't we all use those instead of these useless guns?" I won't even get into the obvious bad guy plot twist I can see coming without even finishing the series. |

Hello, everyone! Although not a seasonal anime, I have soon completed a show called Boku dake ga Inai Machi (or Erased in English). I have read some reviews on it, and it seems to be the kind of show that divides the community in two parts; haters and lovers. The show is about a young man, able to stop and travel to time. He does that to save a friend from his childhood. I must say that the show has me sitting on the edge of my chair. It is very exciting and I can not say that it is predictable, either. Anyone else who has seen the show and care to share some thoughts? Thanks in advance! Take care, y´all!! |

I'm also really looking forward to Fall 2020, partly due to the Covid crisis we're getting a backlog of shows from Spring finally being released. I don't think I've seen so many exciting shows coming up since I started watching seasonal shows in Spring 2019. Another couple of shows I'm interested in checking out this coming Fall season: Jujutsu Kaisen Majo no Tabitabi/The Journey of Elaina By the Grace of the Gods Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle Warlords of Sigrdrifa |

I saw it a while ago so I don't remember all the details but I remember that I like a lot the first 8-9 ep and was disapointed a lot by the ending. I haven't red the manga so I don't know if they failed at adapting the end. That anime, indeed, divides the community and the way I see it is the lovers that forgive the bad end and the haters that had high expectation and can't forgive such an ending |

I found that debut episode to have been most charming, and yeah, the animation was remarkable. Can't wait to watch more. Meanwhile, I started three new shows last night: Noblesse Iwakakeru: Sport Climbing Girls Jujutsu Kaisen I found that I had too many seasonal shows on the go in Summer, so I'm desperately trying not to over fill my watching list. My plan is to only start about 10 shows in the first couple of weeks of the season (sequels like Danmachi & Haikyuu, plus Wandering Witch, Kuma Bear, Sleepy Princess..) and then pick up a few more shows in about weeks 3-5, as this lets me watch the first few episodes all together. Only problem is that it's so hard to do with all these great looking shows. Noblesse is one of the shows I'm going to start this week but the other 2 are ones I'll pick up later. I'm going to try and use this time to watch some classic fantasy & sci-fi shows (Revolutionary Girl Utena, Escaflowne, Slayers etc) and then catch up with seasonal shows in a few weeks. That's the plan, now just got to try and stop myself from picking up and watching these tantalising shows. This season has the potential to be the best of the year by far imo, although that's not hard with all the delays and problems due to covid. Hope you enjoy Diary of Our Days & Lapis Re:Lights, they were my top picks for the last season & a couple of the shows I watched as soon as each episode dropped each week. Look forward to seeing what you thought of them. |

Winter 2021 is a season of high profile sequels, but pretty void of fresh shows. In particular, there's no interesting seinen in Winter 2021, just a few ecchis. I'll pass on Dr. Stone because S1 was meh. I'll postpone SnK and Log Horizon because I haven't caught up with the franchises yet. This still leaves an impressive number of sequels as must-watch:

I ended up picking up some extra shows this season, making it by far and away the most shows I've ever followed during an anime season. The reason, there's so many decent shows out. The additional shows i picked up: Noblesse The Day I Became a God Warlords of Sigfrida Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World I was waiting for the above shows to get dubbed versions before starting them. I also started Dragon Quest: Dai's Great Adventure, D4DJ: First Mix as well as re-starting Gal & Dino now that it's airing again. I have been so impressed with the breadth and variety this season, although i appreciate that this is mostly due to covid which messed up the scheduling for 2020 and many shows got postponed. My top 3 shows so far this season have to be Wandering Witch Elaina, Jujutsu Kaisen and Tonikawa (which might be the single greatest rom-com I've seen, i say 'might be' as it hasn't finished yet, but if it finishes as strongly as it's been going it might get a perfect score from me I like it that much). Haikyuu felt like it has dragged and I've put it on hold for the moment. Danmachi S3 started slowly and i really wasn't that interested, but the last couple of episodes have picked up the story and its got more interesting. The show has definitely taken a dark turn and I'm not sure i like where it's going. It's that time of year when previews for next season are coming out. Apart from a load of sequels there's some intriguing shows to look forward to in the Winter 2021 season. The ones that I'm planning on catching: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 Re Zero Season 2 Part 2 Log Horizon Season 3 Seven Deadly Sins Season 4 Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Non Non Biyori Full Stop Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies moved to a starter town? We're now well into the Winter 2021 season, but I've picked up surprisingly few shows so far as I've decided to wait for the dubs for a few shows. The shows I have started from Winter 2021: Azur Lane: Slow Ahead Jimihen! Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation The Seven Deadly Sins: Judgement of Fury Non Non Biyori Nonstop Re Zero S2 Part 2 Tatoeba Last Dungeon Dubs I'm waiting for: Reincarnated As A Slime S2 So I'm A Spider, So What! Dungeon Only I Can Enter Hortensia Saga Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Kimluck Arc Horimiya My top picks from the new shows so far would be Tatoeba Last Dungeon, a well timed parody with fun characters and Jobless Reincarnation, which is a fully fleshed out experience of being reincarnated, although the MC is a detestable person, but hopefully he'll learn to become a better person given a chance. I also dropped Heaven's Design Team, it seemed educational but there was little or no story. It reminded me of a weaker version of Seton Academy: Join the Pack, which contained educational segments about different animals, in addition to the story. Heavens Design Team seemed to have forgotten about the story from what i saw in the first couple of episodes. I've heard good things about Wonder Egg Priority, i don't usually like horror/psychological shows but may check it out. Is anyone watching it, what are you views? |

I watch both Wonder Egg Priority and Ura Sekai Picnic. I think they are both somewhat weird, but also very good. The plot and the charcters are developing fine. You watch some shows that I have picked up, too. This season is loaded with nice sequels, so my tablet is going warm. I am watching Jobless Reincarnation (you made a nice abstract there) Slime S2, Horimyia (a very nice romance anime) and, ofc, Non Non Biyori. Peace /fili |

Nothing in Spring 2021 feels like it's a mandatory watch or instant classic in genres of interest to me. I'll start with a handful and wait for feedback by others. I'll give a shot to:

I've been looking forward to seeing To Your Eternity/Fumetsu no Anatae since the trailers last year (it was originally planned to air in the Fall 2020 season). I hadn't noticed Pretty Boys Detective Club, i must have glossed over the thumbnail, but if its written by Nisio, who has written some amazing series (Katangatari being a favourite) and produced by Shaft it may be worth watching. I'm also looking forward to Welcome to Demon School Iruma S2, Edens Zero (I loved Fairy Tail so want to see what Hiro Mashima has come up with next), Combatants Will Be Dispatched! and a few of the rom-coms (The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent & The Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won't Lose!). Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song also looks interesting. Then there's the isekai's I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level and How Not to Summon a Demonlord S2. |
