Things are starting to come to a head now in the series. Among other things, we've gotten confirmation that not only her family, but Lain's friends were fake as well, and the Knights are seemingly no more. My own question now to myself is whether or not it was all worth the wait. I personally don't think so. Mostly because the series unravels and climaxes in its' own unique way. The god discussions were quite interesting to me, especially in regard to the point that although beings can be all knowing, all present and all powerful, what makes them a god is whether or not they are worshipped. There's not really much else I have to say about the episode for once.

I can't lie, I was feeling a bit suicidal for a second there.. Kek. But towards the end; it felt like lain was trying to escape the animes in of itself. What a eerie feeling.

Behold of my awesomeness~

It is at this point in the story, where interpretation of what the story could mean really runs wild for me. It also seems to be going in a particular direction with Lain's rejection of the 'real' her being in the Wired that I think is really interesting. I am extremely hopeful for the last few episodes.

lain became all alone. also the knights got killed pretty damn fast lol. thought it would be harder to get rid of them. and looks like the story now will depend on what Lain chooses to do next. because she inst a real human being but wants to be.

Christ what an episode and as usual a lot to unpack but not as much as last episode lol, I took away a lot of emphasis of God hood from this one.

So the Doctor, Eiri Masami, uploaded himself in to the Wired and is actually the voice talking to Lain proclaiming to be "God of the Wired" and her creator. He believes another identifying trait (or the identifying trait) of being a "God" is having followers thus having a form of recognition, Lain then uses her powers of the Wired to dox every single member of the Knights around the globe which is fucking insane. Although it seems it was effective as even Eiri Masami applauds her work, he states he won't truly disappear as long as he has one believer that being Lain.

I feel a lot of this episode was also Lain's becoming self aware or coming to terms with herself, she's seeing how she is this God like entity, being told by her "creator" she doesn't have a real body and is more like an A.I that was born in the Wired with the irl body being some fake or hologram as well as her family and friends, additionally her shy personality is suffering from the effects of being erased and her worst night mare of not being needed in the real world is coming alive even though she tried hard to not stand out. Eiri Masami actively seems to try and tell Lain to throw her real body away and persuade her to join him in something since her love will mean he will keep living, however she rejects that and i think that's really powerful. She refuses to believe the other "Lain" in the Wired is her real self, and instead wants to hold onto the belief that she is real person/human which brings that self awareness in. Honestly loving where this plot is going even if i'm probably fucking wrong as shit as i have been on about 90% of my theories about this show so far lmfao.

The Black suits also played a crucial and interesting part in this ep. They were the clean up crew for the Knights and work under a client, it's unclear but it seems they themselves have a massive association that spans the globe since the Knights seemed like a global following and the Black Suits seemed to be able to match that width. I'm guessing the "clients" end goal is containing the Wired, being the iron fist of the law that decided the Wired will not be some special safe haven and instead a sub system that will better reinforce the current real world order, and as they said themselves, removing Eiri Masami's program because, "We have no need for Gods." Honestly such a hard line, speaks volumes of the role the black suits and their clients will be playing of in this story.
Also the scene of that one member taking his headpiece off and talking to Lain directly i thought was really important. Very symbolic he took the headpiece off first to look at her directly as that scene then felt 10x more personal like he was speaking to her not as a black suit, but as a person. His declaration of love to Lain that follows i think is more akin to how a person would express their love to a God, even though his work involves actively trying to stop a God like entity and rejecting God, doesn't mean he can't still be a man of faith or religion and i want to say that for some reason he puts his faith and believe in Lain.

Was also shockingly surprise how Lain's "father" left on a good note. Although we don't see what happens to the family, i really expected him to break some dark truth that he was deeply involved with Eiri Masami's work on the 7th gen programs and only ever saw Lain as an experiment to watch over, but no, it was really more like a father saying a some what heartfelt goodbye to a child he really considered his own. Lmao looking back at it, he may not of been the best dad, but give him some slack, i couldn't imagine the amount of pressure he felt knowing he was caring for a unbeknownst God as if it was his own, and trying to led them in a healthy direction.

I still don't know if long haired god-bro is true in saying she didn't really exist in the real world or if he's fucking with her. Feel it could go either way
