| I like melodrama.If it feels like a lifetime movie, it is my cuppa. Often dramatic anime won't have enough drama to warrant the label...true melodrama is a quick emotional rollercoaster. |

| If I had to pick one show where the melodrama was obnoxious, I guess I'd agree and pick Clannad. That said, I'm a total sucker for melodrama. Of the other two show mentioned the most on the thread, I very much enjoyed AnoHana and Your Lie in April is still one of my favorite anime despite the very heavy backlash its gotten. While I get why so many hate melodramatic shows, I appreciate the intensity of the emotions conveyed. At the very least, they are actually trying to instill emotions in the audience, unlike some of the other apathetic, cynical pieces of garbage we get. |
| I can't believe that i see AnoHana mentioned most of the time here. I thought that i would never see the day when i will see other people trashing this trash. I truly felt embarrassed and even ashamed while watching it. And never, to this day, can i understand why so many people liked it, loved it and gave it such high score. I even LAUGHED at some melodramatic moments. I was led to believe it is good and that's why i watched it. I don't regret it though. At least i had a good laugh. I don't mean to hurt someone with this. I think the problem was it was wayyyyyyyyyy melodramatic than it should have been. Just tone it down, please. |
