| From the list listed, I'd pick Crusades but my favorite period group is the Napoleonic Era which wasn't listed. The Napoleonic Era is really interesting to me, arising from the French Revolution to Napoleon taking power, on to conquests and much more. We actually don't, no one gets drafted unless they sign for the military. The western world is largely at peace, you seem to have a poor understanding of what it means to be at war. When you say we are at peace, my first thought was the Twin Towers ablaze. What was the last war you fought? Civil rights still have a long way to go, as discrimination is still legal in the West, Affirmative Action. I think you missed the point. You ideal world with 1960 conservative values and modern technology/medicine can't exist because minorities and people discriminated will always try to improve their life condition over time.
