During the LN phase, I read a lot of LNs, only one author clicked for me, and that's Kamachi. I still read some other LNs of popular shows, but they never clicked for me, so I dropped them after a few vols.

I think I first saw the first season of Railgun as it aired and really liked it. I had heard about the series before and thought the concept of science vs magic sounded cool, but I really got into it once I saw Railgun. Then I went back and watched Index and I've been onboard since. I tried reading the LNs years back but kind of stopped around vol 6. I think I'm going to pick them up again, but I'll be buying them physical this time.
When I was done with Shakugan no Shana and The Familiar Of Zero people recommend this series on Facebook.
I started with the Railgun series than Index and I enjoyed it for what they were and now I have the whole collection. Still need to get the movie tho.
While it wasn't the best series I seen it was still one of the more enjoyable ones I seen period
It wasnt that long ago, I think I read something about accelerator on someones profile here, I have to admit I expected something completely different. More magic battle highschool like, but I was positively surprised by what I got.

“Evil is created when someone gives up on someone else. It appears when everyone gives up on someone as a lost cause and removes their path to salvation. Once they are cut off from everyone else, they become evil.” -Othinus
Railgun had just finished airing when I first got into anime in 2010. It was one of the first anime I watched and, to this day, still one of the best. Naturally, I picked up and watched everything related to the show I was totally into.
How didi I get into it? It's been so long I don't really remember. I know I watched Index I not long after it had aired. After that I went and found the fan translations of Old Testament, and read through them. Also read the Railgun side story novels, Nesscecarius stuff, basically anything I could get my hands on. And then I watched Index II and Railgun S as they were airing.
Have currently read all of New Testamaent that is released. Been meaning to read the Railgun and Accelorator mangas as well, but haven't really had the time.
I saw Mikoto posted a lot (around the time railgun started airing), and she looked like a cool yet normal girl. I wanted to check it out, so I watched index. Stayed for Accelerator. Suffered through 7 years of Miki trolling the fans, shoving sao and heavy object down our throats before he finally gave in.
Now I can worry about the pacing. yay.
I just randomly stumbled upon two posters. One was unappealing (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun), the other was a little better (Toaru Majutsu no Index).
After watching the 1st and 2nd seasons of Index, me being a collector and a completionist, I watched the two seasons of Railgun as well.
Now I've decided to re-watch all seasons and with refreshed eyes go about finishing this franchise.
