No, you just got your panties in a bunch because I dared mention the chronological order. Exactly what part of..

"I hate the airing order. It was just so confusing, so I watched it in chronological order.

It starts with the 3 movies and then goes from there.."

..was confusing? The first sentence literally states there's the airing order. Then I later stated I watched it in chronological order. The OP can do whatever he/she wants.

And I'm saying that CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER IS NOT THE RIGHT ORDER. Is that confusing even in all caps?

And I said to each their own. I don't care about the series that much to piece it all together when I know I'll just forget, therefore I will watch it however I want. OP can do whatever he/she wants.

The concept of artist's intention is not bullshit. You read the light novels in the order they were released. You watch the show in the order it aired. It makes pretty simple sense.

Yeaaaah, right. Let's leave at that.

Then they'll have their experience ruined. :)

Pro tip: he will never shut up.

Pro tip: I shouldn't have to say anything. This should be common sense.

It really doesn't. In theory, you can watch it backwards and still understand it.

If you're type who like to watch the answer of mystery(aka ending) before the main story. Then watch it in chronological order. Hey, I mean, the murder happened first and solving the murder and mystery happened afterward, chronologically speaking you should read/watch who dunnit, how dunnit, and why dunnit before the protagonist or detective start to solve the mystery.
Oh, and for the show that has flashbacks, don't forget to watch every flashback before the main the story too. It happened first....... right?

Okay, jabbing aside

Broadcasting order always try to give watchers the maximum effect of enjoyment. Be it hint, mystery, impression on character, impression on relationship, blah blah. The staffs work their best to give you a maximum effect on all of that.
For instance,
It's a clever narrative structure placed by the author. It's your choice to watch it however you can enjoy it, but it does not change that way you enjoy it is a degraded version from its maximum potential.
For how it is confusing, if you spend a little of your time --yeah I really mean a little-- pay attention to where the event takes place only once time for entire arc, nothing is confusing anymore. And even before resorting to chronological order, you even can't pay the attention to timeline while watching it, spend very little of your time to check out this picture to know where the event take place, it took you less than a minute and it can give you the method to watch the series in its maximum potential. Chronological order is only if both method mention before does not work for you.

When its come to recommendation, you should recommend someone the maximum potential of something. You can recommend other method, but condition and reason should be brought up while the maximum potential method should be prioritized first.

Airing order is the best way to do it because of the assumptions that the show thinks you know if that makes sense.
