| Coming hot off of finishing GT, I’m here at Dragon Ball Super now, and this time it’s the opposite where I haven’t seen Super but my buddy has. Now I have actually seen Battle of the Gods, Resurrection F and Broly, just not Super itself, and I actually think I’ve seen some of these early episodes as I tried to get into this years ago but didn’t stick with it. That being said, nice first episode, it was more chill and comedic to kinda ease you into this new continuation of the series, I definitely laughed at the Buu and Hercule scene lol, and I’m watching the dub so I’m not sure if it was as funny in Japanese. I also gotta say Videl is a lot cuter here than in GT, I always liked how she looked in the movie version of this arc, that has not changed. And they also let you know right off the bat that last time they defeated Kid Buu, so forget everything you saw in GT lol, but the GT fan in me will definitely be drawing comparisons as we go along whether they want me to forget or not. And after Goku kissed his farming life goodbye once he had the money to get Chichi off his back, he’s now off to train with King Kai as a purple cat man is slicing planets in half, that’s definitely a scary looming threat right off the bat, and it’s been a while since I’ve seen Battle of the Gods so I’m excited to see what comes again here in Super. And that was a pretty good OP, I’ve heard it before so it’s nothing new, a bit of a shame they didn’t do a dubbed version tho, and that ED was pretty nice, and they actually did dub that one which is cool. And with that I’m in for the ride that is Super, should be a good time. |

| started rewatching this for the third time this time in English dub because I noticed it was on BBC Iplayer here in the U.K. :O after seeing someones comment about it on a forum actually. They only have the first 5 "seasons" I think up to the vs universe 6 part maybe? But definitely gonna watch them on there and hope BBC decides to add the rest if they see a lot of people using their service for it (especially people who maybe don't regularly use Iplayer) I saw they had a small collection of other English dubbed anime too including Pokemon, One Piece and Beyblade! Here's to hoping they add some more, but especially the remaining eps of DBS. I think I might make a thread here about it being on Iplayer to direct any U.K. watchers towards it who might wanna watch it there! But honestly rewatching DBS again, it's just so abundantly clear to me how lucky we are we got a sequel series as good as DBS. The amount of hate it gets is just shameful, mostly unrealistic expectations & unfair comparisons to DB/Z. But it's so clearly a labour of love made by people who truly love and understand Dragon Ball, especially coming off the back of other similar sequel series like Boruto: Next Generations (something I struggle to even get through once lol). Is it perfect? No, but it's such a good addition to Dragon Ball and I'm glad it's seen the success it has despite the naysayers. |

| I decided to watch dbs before dragon ball gt as I plan to watch gt after this. I've heard plenty of varied opinions on Dragonball Super and well I personally really enjoyed this first episode. The animation style is honestly pretty solid and I love how colorful everything and how bright and lively the anime is. This episode had plenty of enjoyable moments and the opening with Goku being a Farmer was kinda funny with Goten driving and Goku training. I liked the Goten and Trunks focus with them looking for a gift for videl along with them fighting that snake. The animation for the action was really solid. | Here we go, DRAGON BALL SUPER! Its goddamn widescreen & HD time! And seems like they cropped the DBZ episodes to fit into a 16:9 ratio lol Good recap. So this show picks up in between DBZ's Buu memories erasure wish and DBZ's end. Goku has become a farmer lol, what a start Goten casually driving the tractor The OST has changed so much And we get to meet Mr.Beerus And the sound effects are pretty childish too Satan got the Global Peace Prize too So Gohan got married to Videl just mere months after that Buu wish And its very sweet that Goten wants to gift his sister-in-law Goten seems to have moved out and not living near his father now too They really made this childish huh.. Videl is very sweet to Goten too And then Goten told this story to Goku :) Goku is afraid of that amount of money, he almost cant count it. Well, he has the chance to go to Kaio-sama's for training now! Good lord, Roshi! News spreads around fast. The Kaioshins being as useless as ever. MY GOD I LOVE THE ED. Showing many of the previous arc's important locations and the growth of Goku, and then sweet photos of Gohan and Goten! And then showing Goku looking at the sunset and eventually almost the entire Z-Family |
