Just read that Tales of Symphonia is going to get a PC release and will be available in 2016.

Most likely available on Steam.

how would this be different from the PS3 remaster? Would it be a port of that?

Same thing most likely. Just a few better graphics options maybe, who knows. Don't think Namco has released any games they've made yet on PC, aside from some published games.

This is more surprising to me then ToZ being announced for pc... Makes me wonder if they will be porting all the other multi-plat tales games over.

The only thing I find exciting about these games coming to PC is all the DLC mods we might get down the line.

I've wanted all the Code Geass DLC for as long as I've known about them, but they've all always been Japan only.

Maybe they'll fix issues in it. Like you know... the fact that Gamecube version ran at 60fps and PS3 remaster was capped at 30...

Wasn't that the ps2 version they ported for ps3 though?, which was at 30fps already.

I think so. Well, don't care. PS3 is much more powerful than Gamecube supposedly, there was no excuse for that. There were also some text issues here and there.

as weird as that was, it should be noted frame rate means jack shit in a game like tales of symphonia, its already slow as shit and has minimal camera movement and really movement in general. Frankly a frame rate difference changes things about as little as a turn based game would

I don't think anyone should accept a lesser product when it was possible to do it at 60fps.

60fps is objectively better than 30fps, regardless of the style of the game. The only game where a capped framerate was acceptable is South Park: Stick of Truth and that was because it was emulating the aesthetic of the show.

As much as I like the game, I have it on the GCN and PS3 already. Seems pointless me having it for this too.

What's the point of making a bad port when it can be emulated without issues. I'd rather they ported PS3 only games.
