| Done...I had to finish this. "The Spirit Carries On" Graphite on Bristol, 11x14. Growing up, my grandpa would always say how good I was at drawing, even when all I drew was anime, haha. When we had visitors, he would show them my drawings, I remember being embarrassed because of the content, lol. We lost him on July 28th of this year, and although he is in a better place, without sickness, not one day goes by where I don't think of him and miss him. So I hold these memories very close to me, and hope to see him again someday. So, what better way to honor him than to draw him? I hope you can see this very emotionally exhausting portrait from where you are, Grandpa. Thanks for looking. |

Also sword looks bad... :x Thank you very much. The trick with this was that I had to "restore" detail, because my reference was a 5x3 picture. I had to take a picture of said reference to blow it up on my computer (no scanner), and worked with what I could. I darkened the photo some to show some of the smaller details in the wrinkles. Well, any mistakes can be fixed, you're working with digital art :) The only main thing I see wrong is perspective. It conflicts with the proportions, because the point fo perspective is off. |
