So, this is a thread for all new members to introduce themselves and for others to welcome them. We like meeting fellow yuri fans so don't be shy and come to say hi. What you are expected to do in this thread is to introduce yourself (I'm smarter than I sound, I swear). Whether that means your whole biography or just explaining what got you interested in yuri and your favourite yuri anime/manga/characters. Just don't forget to make paragraphs in the biography so it's easier to read and bold the yuri section so we can skip everything else. In all seriousness, we'd like to know what attracts you about yuri the most, what got you interested in yuri, what yuri anime/manga you like and everything else you feel like you need to share. It would be also very helpful if you mentioned how you found our club. Make sure to check the main page for all events, competitions, chats and other stuff if you haven't already. Oh, and you can request up to 3 cards in my card shop. (Shameless self advertising.) Welcome and enjoy your stay. ^_^ |

I am me. Swedish person with some kind of love for everything Japan (or this is what I tell people anyways, really I'm just an otaku.) I love music, and I think about playing guitar sometimes. My musical taste is pretty varied, pretty much anything I like, I like. Favorites are definitely chaotic, complex, noisy hardcore/mathcore (Converge, Trap Them) melodic death metal (The Black Dahlia Murder) and µ's. I can't remember why or how I got into yuri, I really don't remember where I started either. I guess I stumbled upon it sometime, realized it's pretty great and it became my thing. Among my friends I just became "the one that was pretty much only into yuri". For reasons, probably. As for the yuri I like, it's pretty much everything, but I especially love the very feminine yuri with lots of cuddling, hugging, overall cuteness etc. I tend to prefer looking at artwork rather than watching anime or reading manga though. It kind of makes you think up your own story to the characters, why they're there, what they're thinking and what they're feeling. They say a painting says more than a thousand words, or something, and I feel that is incredibly true when it comes to this kind of thing. Yuri is very calming for me, it just feels like the right thing, a source of happiness. I guess that kind of maybe sums it up in one way or another. My favorite yuri show is definitely Yuru Yuri, for personal reasons more than anything. Even though it kind of isn't very yuri, it just has everything I like in a show and it became very close to me because it always reminds me of one of my best friends I haven't seen for 2 years due to us being half an earth apart. Akarin is kind of my spirit animal, as weird as that sounds. I kind of don't take many things seriously, I like messing around a lot. I never mean any harm though and I like talking to people. So don't hesitate to say hi or ask any questions to me either. Actually it kind of depends on what questions you had in mind. I might be slow in responding though as I usually find MAL bothersome to navigate and I'm too lazy to open it. |

Hi TheAyaya Hello everyone, my name is Crowlage, Crow or for short. I've joined MAL back in March and this club was the very first club I joined and still is my favorite. I just recently became officer here (which in all honesty I'm ecstatic about! *-*) About myself, I'm currently in school working towards psychology. I love jogging, swimming, music and of course anime but mainly manga. I write for the luxury of keeping my ideas and have a Light Novel that's for fun. I recently got back into watching anime thanks to Higurashi. I wanted a romance story and found countless ecchi harems. Now I hate mostly all ecchi and harem shows with a passion. ^-^ Just by chance I stumbled upon Girl Friends the yuri manga and I said, "why not?" It's still the best romance story I've ever had the pleasure of reading and it single handedly got me into the yuri genre in general. I like all yuri in general, if the art is decent and the story is bearable I'll most likely enjoy it. If you have recommendations please tell me! I am also a Touhou addict. I recently become a Touhou addict and my love for Touhou grew stronger with the countless yuri doujins fans produce daily. XD so my obsession will not die any time soon. Konpaku Youmu x Anyone is my favorite pairings because Youmu is queen and that's that. I like to believe I'm an easy to talk to guy so ask anything and I'll try my best to help. Hope to be friends if possible. :) |

Hi Spoiler TheAyaya said: I tend to prefer looking at artwork rather than watching anime or reading manga though. Interesting. I'm not quite that way with Yuri but I do get what you're getting at, as I feel the artist of loose imagery sometimes gets what I want to see a lot more than the writer. Of course, it's so much easier to interject what I want to see in it, in those situations. Crowlage said: I'm currently in school working towards psychology. Also Interesting. I think I figured out how you can pay me back for all those recommendations. Get back to me when you're certified. And bring a plenty of writing paper >_> |

Welcome, everyone. I guess I should introduce myself as well. When I joined there were already over 1100 members so I'm still fairly new though I do my best to help out as much as I can. You probably know me as the person who makes cards but I also did one spotlight. What else... yeah, I'm not a native English speaker so excuse my mistakes. *bows* My yuri history started a long time ago but I can't really place it. I started being yuri aware thanks to Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica but there were couples I shipped a long time before MSMM (e.g. Mimi/Miyako and Ruki/Juri from Digimon and Dawn/Zoey from Pokemon). Also, I saw many anime with yuri undertones before MSMM but until Madoka, I wasn't really into it. Madoka still remains my favourite anime with yuri undertones. To be honest, I don't remember how I got into this club. I think I was looking for some clubs to join and found this one. *shrugs* The only thing that I remember is that I was comparing this club to others of the same theme and found out this was the most active and most to my liking so I'm here. |

It's a way of attention seeking. We all know we're fluent in English and our grammar and spelling are almost perfect but we still drop lines like those so native speakers will be all like "Wow, I wouldn't have guessed it." or "Your English is perfect." or "U better then I.". So, congrats, you took the bait. Do you feel smarter now? |

Hello hello :D Polish girl here. I don't remember when I get here but I started with yuri hmm something about 2 years ago with Strawberry Panic. Then I go with other anime and finally with yuri manga. Unfortunately in my country yuri isn't very popular so we don't have many titles (that's why thanks Pirates for scanlations :D) I read maaaaany one shots and series (you can see this on my manga list :D) and I can tell that my favourite thing in yuri are adults relationship. That's why I love Octave :D one of the best manga I read! But in the other hand I reaaaaly like fluff and cuddle ^^ (fav paring MioxRitsu I think :) ) Ok so something about me. I finished my studies (librarianship) but I have to defend my thesis in August. I love fantasy, sci-fi (books and movies). I'm addicted from tv series (Rizzoli & Isles for example and medical drama like Grey's Anatomy). Many other things I wrote on my profile so take a look xD |

Hello everyone, I forgot to do this so here I go. My name is Anjuni, or just Hana if which everyone you prefer. I have recently made an active interest reading Yuri manga and misspelling the word "manga" for my own amusement. Not really sure what else to put here, I really enjoy slice of life and romance mangas on a regular basis, and usually end up getting swept up in them and reading them more often then others. I am not very good at giving any one recommendations, and have trouble usually keeping conversations with others. I would like to meet more people through this board and a lot of others, but for now this one so far has gained my interest. I have really enjoyed a lot of different mangas and I wish to see more, a lot more. Even if I don't really care for them I will read them.. In my spare time. Err right I am supposed to put other things there, expanding upon liking slice of life manga and romance. I started reading those and trying to find more from the genre, I like reading them a lot, I get really absorbed into the good ones and find myself getting depressed after words. The ones who leave lasting impressions are my favorite, however, I find it hard to read them again after reading them once. The feeling has passed and then I move onto other Manga from that genre. It's weird I know, but there are probably others that get that way too. Anyway, before this turns into something weird or stupid. Hello again I am Anjuni/Hana, please take care of me(that seems to be a reoccurring line spoken in every manga I have ever read when someone is introduced to a new place, so I guess it is appropriate... Still makes me seem weird. ε- ( ̄、 ̄A) フゥー)! |

Oh, I can introduce myself. I'll take any chance to participate in something. Not for attention, I swear. Yo, my name's Cure Inazuma. Call me Cure if you want. I joined when there were around 500 members or so. I'm still pretty new to this site in general so bear with me(I just hope my posts don't make you hibernate, get it? Bear?). I got into yuri from the combined forces of Yuru Yuri and Nanoha. Nanoha came first. Then I moved on to watch all of the Precure series and lots of subtexty yuri anime. (Akane x Miyuki from Smile Precure is my all time OTP). I like to make puns and have friendly conversations. I also play video games and watch anime in my free time(woah, didn't see that coming). I guess I've been trying my hand at drawing a bit, but it's not something to draw attention to. Hope we can get along, and share our fiery spirits. That seems to be the hot thing to do these days. No really, it spices things up. It's getting a bit hard to coallect all these puns. Okay, okay, so two lesbians walk into a bar... |

Greetings!!! I'm Kaloveja and ever since this summer started, I had more time to settle down and watch more anime and read more manga after a good 3 year gap since my last splurge. During that gap, I occupied myself fawning over a kpop girl group. ^^; I honestly think Kannazuki No Miko started it all for me. At the moment I'm severely obsessed with the Citrus manga. Like holy crap it suffocates me in a masochistic way. lmao! A few things about me: - I'm a female - I'm a severe pervert (probably why I love Citrus so much) - I love weight lifting - I'm a womanizer - I'm in a sorority (Much to my demise for being surrounded by so many girls) - Did I mention I was a severe pervert? Probably. I'm glad to see quite an active yuri club after so long! :D |

Hello :) I'm Equim-chan, but you can just call me Equim. I'm a Chinese guy so I'm not a native English speaker either, which means I'm not good at writing in English. I don't remember when I joined this club, maybe it was about half a year ago. But when I found this club very lively and I started to incorporate myself into it it's about 3 months ago. Though there are not so many yuri fans comparing with other types of anime fans, I think a smaller fandom can provide an easier way for fans to share their joys. How I got into yuri? From the very beginning, I watched a MAD of Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo, and then I found this OVA. I was really fond of it(no no no I'm not a perv)!! Then I became a yuri fan, and my "yuri life" was uneasy, since there aren't too many yuri fans and some people around me(no matter anime fans or not) just consider me as a hentai anyway. In terms of yuri works, I like Katahane(VN by Tarte) most! Glad to meet you all! :-) |

Hi! I'm Sora. I joined the club a little bit more than a year ago. I really like this Club, it's a great place, full of cheerful members, and great events, and with a lots of Yuri! I prefer paceful Anime/Manga, favorite genres are Iyashikei and Yuri. And Iyashikei + Yuri, is something realy amazing! But I like many other kind of Yuri as well. I'm not very good with darker shows though, ...but there are a few from those as well I like, like Madoka★Magica for example. I probably was always interested in the Yuri genre, like side characters and Yuri undertones in different Anime here-and-there, but the first Yuri work I read was Namori-sensei's YuruYuri, and I fell in love with it (and with Yuri genre) an instant. I mostly watch and read Yuri (about 85-90% of what I read/watch), ...ah, but note here, I use the word Yuri for all Yuri, tamer or not, - by the way, I prefer tamer ones. I have many favorites, Fujieda Miyabi-sensei's Manga are something I'm pretty fanatic about, I really love the Sensei's Manga, and my favorite is Ameiro Kouchakan Kandan! But I also love Ume-sensei's, Namori-sensei's, Minamoto Hisanari-sensei's, and a lot of other great Mangaka's Manga as well. If you would ask, I love paceful, WAFF, Yuri the most, also love comedy Yuri as well, but not that much like too much drama, and darkness. I also love music (mostly Anime openings and endings), - Enya's songs are one of my favorite, love drinking tea as well, and I sometimes draw pictures as well... but I'm kinda clumsy... and I'm attending to University, where I learn Japanese language and culture, It's great! I'm also kind of a weirdo, take many things in my own pace, and I kinda change "modes" depending on what Anime/Manga I watched/read last. Ah, and English is not my native language, so, even though I try to not make much mistakes, I'm sure it happens occasionaly, so gomennasai! I look forward to meet many interesting and unique peoples here! |

Aah, hello~ My name is Mercuria; you can call me anything though. I got into yuri because I've always loved GL even since I was born :p The very first yuri anime I've watched is Kannazuki no Miko, found it when I youtubed The L Words. Chikane x Himeko entranced me, and despite its 'meh' mecha part, the romance plot between them was what really got me because I've ever been in Chikane's shoes ;.; They are still one of my fav couples of all time. I joined this club two or three months ago. All this time, I was just being a stalker silent reader of this group. But now I've decided to be more active. Now, I'm really enjoying myself here :3 Well, guess that's all. Hope we get along well ^^)/ |

I don't remember what yuri/shoujo anime was the first one I watched. but I can tell you, I've watched most of them. If you don't mind looking at my list and telling me what I"ve missed. I also like reading yuri manga. I actually bought GirlFriends online. I ship a lot of yuri couples <3 :3 (oh, and by the way, I don't count GUYS turning into girls, dressing up as girls, in pair with another girl as Yuri, no just no!) Ok, moving on...Yuri!~ |

Ohayo minna! Please forgive me but most of the stuff I'm gonna put here will be copied from my profile page - I'm lazy and I don't wanna write everything from scratch. My name is Matt. First and foremost - I love movies. I spend most of my time watching movies and they are my passion. Lately however I started to give anime series more attention than I used to, so I don't watch as many movies now. I'm interested in mythology - especially Norse/Scandinavian (that is also where I got my nickname from) - so whenever there is a movie, TV series or an anime about Vikings or gods, I'm in. I'm also interested in football. I am a fan of Arsenal London Football Club since 2006 and an editor of Polish Arsenal London fan site. Going back to anime, my favourite kinds of series are the serious, dark, suspenseful and psychological ones - that doesn't of course mean, that I only watch shows like that. Here is my "Top 3" list of the best anime series I have seen so far: 1. "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" 2. "Monster" and "Gankutsuou - The Count of Monte Cristo" (I can't decide which is better) 3. "Ef - A Tale of Memories" The most important thing for me is the premise of a movie/anime - the main idea behind it. This is the thing that makes me watch the specific show in the first place. Next is the screenplay - how the concept is explored. Atmosphere is also very important to me. However, if the series exceeds in other areas, I'm completely fine with that. After watching so many movies and shows, I find it hard to be surprised by anything. That is why I appreciate, when an anime has some twists that I didn't see coming. That is also why I like series which go beyond established rules and take a different approach to their genres. Now - onto the yuri stuff (cause that's why we're here, right). I'll be frank - I don't like Yuri as much as I like Shoujo-Ai series. I love Shoujo-Ai because it concentrates on the emotional bond between characters instead of the physical aspect of a relationship. My first encounter with this genre came with "Sasameki Koto" and it remains one of my favourites. But the title of the best Shoujo-Ai show I've seen so far goes to "Aoi Hana". Generally, I don't read a lot of manga. However, after getting into the Shoujo-Ai genre I noticed that there aren't many series to choose from - so I had to do something. I'm still an amateur when it comes to manga, but there are some titles I still plan to read. How I came to be a member of this great club, you ask? Once in a while, after I was logging out of MAL, I would notice its name on the list of "Recently Active Clubs" - and because I was already addicted to the Yuri stuff, I decided to join. To finish off, something about music - cause everyone listens to it. I especially like Blues, Rock, Metal (but no too heavy) and mainly instrumental soundtracks from movies or anime - even though I listen to pretty much everything. Recently, after watching "Mouretsu Pirates" I started to listen to different kinds of Irish music - because of ONE song that was in this series. That is all. If you managed to read everything then congratulations - you have my utmost respect and I salute you. |

Yo, I am lectito. Originally I joined the site a few years ago to catalogue shows that I had completed. Then about a year ago I started joining clubs that I had interests in, such as music, sci-fi, and well the best yuri. My interest in yuri stems from the fact that I enjoy the art of yuri outside of just anime/manga. My first experience with yuri in anime was Sailor Moon, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Sailor Neptune, even with it being censored in the US you could tell they were more than “cousins”. After that I found one of my most favorite shows of all time, Utena. If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend you get on it right away, because you are missing out on one totally awesome series. Using these two shows as my basis I found Shoujo ai archive and wandered around that site to find other yuri/yuri subtext shows, Strawberry Panic, Kannazuki no Miko, Battle Athletes and Noir to name a few. I didn’t get into the manga side till after I joined this club. I am glad I did, there are definitely more options and couples that are actually canon with each other. Currently, I am enjoying Collectors, Murciélago, and Omoi no Kakera as well as others. Just recently finished Stray Little Devil and Tokimeki Mononoke Jogakkou. The last one was recommended by a friend and in turn I will highly recommend it to everyone here especially if you are interested in monster girls. I am not the most active in the club, but I will join a thread here and there or write a comment every once in awhile. Also, I have met some really cool people in the club and I hope to meet more. So… Yea… Yay Yuri!!!!! |

Hello everyone :D I'm Vene, I joined today but I'm not new to Yuri, I remember my first experience with this genre was Kannazuki no Miko, I watched it in 2011, even if I dislike the Mecha genre I totally loved it (the Yuri part at least). Then I continued with this genre, I tried out some other Yuri anime but if you ever saw my List you could say I actually hate Yuri because of the many yuri series I gave a bad score (or dropped), but that's only because I'm a bit harsh when It comes to giving a score and those series really weren't of my taste, regardless they were Yuri or not. My favorite Yuri anime is Maria-sama ga miteru series and my favorite manga is Girl Friends. My favorite Yuri couple is definitely Madoka x Homura (from Madoka Magica). I'm wandering MyAnimeList since 2011, I like to meet new people who shares our same interest, Anime, because I don't have friends to discuss about it... yep, unfornutely I'm the only one who likes Anime is this boring town I live, or at least if they exist, for sure they aren't yelling it in the streets... neither I do so I think my only contact is going to be through this site, and I'm happy like that anyway, I've meet awesome people here. I'm very fond to editing, but I think I'm quite far from the level of some users here at MAL, their creations are really awesome, I hope I can reach them someday. I also like to write reviews for MAL of my favorites series. I'll start my activity in this club from now on, so... nice to meet you all boys and girls! :D. |

Hello Everyone, I am Cyanwasserstoff . You can call me Cyan if you like. I am 26 years old, male and i am studying Life Science Chemistry. Ofcourse I like Anime, Manga, Light Novels and Games. I also like chess. Feel free to challenge me :P Yuri Section :P My first real Yuri was Blue Drop, but i have watched Sakura Trick complete and Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san until episode 7 and should watch it until the end :P Why am I attracted to Yuri ? * Yuri is the purest form of love. Two girls love each other with a great love story or background story is a great romance that I love to watch. *The way the girls care for each other is special. *A Yuri does not need real sexual content, a kiss as symbol of love is more then enough. . Blue Drop was my first Yuri and it really inspired me to watch Hagino and Mari . Their start of relationship until they really became lovers. That was the start for me to like Yuri. My favorit Yuri Anime until now is Sakura Trick :P Greetings Cyan |

Hey everyone! This is LiYuxin speaking here. You can call me Li if you like. I'm currently 18 years old and still going to school. This is how I got into Yuri/Shoujo-Ai: I got into Anime when I was 14, but I started with normal action/comedy/romance Animes. I soon discovered there were more genres than these, but I just didn't explore them. When I was 15, I had a crush on a girl and this made me think "if there only was an Anime about this!". Somehow, I kept believing there was nothing similar in the Anime world and I discovered Yuri by accident: I started fangirling over Tae-chan and Yagyu Kyubee from Gintama. xD Then, I gradually researched some more and watched "Sasameki Koto" and "Aoi Hana". After that, I found out that there were more Yuri Manga than Anime out there, so I started reading some Manga. I am currently reading "Octave" and I really love it. My favourite pairings - Yagyu Kyubee and Otae from Gintama - Akemi Homura and Madoka from Madoka Magica - Sakura Kyouko and Sayaka from Madoka Magica - basically everyone and everyone from Sakura Trick. That's it! =D |

Hello there! Im Scorpio and I just joined this group because Im "yuri-beginner". There was a time in my life when I was watching a lot of hentai series with my girlfriend. She is like half Polish/ half Irish. Unfortunetly her mother died in a car accident. Her father was so smashed by this that he wanted go back to his country of course with my love :/. That was like 2 months ago and Im still alone and sad so I decided to look for some comedy-romantic animes because they makes me smile (I don't remember title of this yuri I watched but I was all like " :D ") I needed to re-create my account but I thought I will add everything back on my anime list. Nothing to hide or keep in secrets. So If u can recommend me some softcore(without crying please :cc), comedy-romance yuri serie will be awesome :p. Im also open for "normal" anime with comedy/action. Im really glad someone made group like that to unite "yuri-army" togheter xd Sorry for my bad englanderino... Its not my first language :p Gosh when Im reading content of my message ita so weird... lol... Nvm xd take care friends and have a nice day/night. tl;dr lol |

Well then, let's take a shot at this. As you can see to the left ( <-- ), the name is HitsuWTG. I'll save the personal things, since those are already somewhat visible on my profile or can be asked - so if there's anything you want to know, ask away! Anyways. I've been introduced to anime around 15 years ago, starting with the obvious stuff like Dragon Ball or Digimon. Over time the interest somewhat faded with the exception of the Hunter x Hunter manga, which I've been avidly following since 2001, only to rediscover anime around 2008~2009. Can't even remember which anime brought me back into the scene, though. At some point this year, I just spontaneously decided to join MAL then. So... I only joined this group today, though I've been on MAL a few weeks already and have actually been a Yuri fan for a while by now. I guess some that took a quick glance at my anime/manga list will be surprised since there isn't really anything in there (yet) that's considered yuri, but well... I've been more into visual novels. SonoHana and the like, if you catch my drift. I'm intending to slowly work myself into a few yuri anime/manga after the next wave of exams is over, probably starting with the more recent ones. What else is there to say? Let's see. I discovered Yuri around... let's see, maybe around 2~3 years ago. That was way back when I got into the Touhou fandom, and well, given the abundance of female characters there, it's only natural that I got exposed to it at some point. I just decided to try the visual novel SonoHana 3 on a whim then, and didn't really look back afterwards. The only thing that prevented me from expanding my horizont to much is probably the lack of available time for me. Then again, maybe it can be said that I'm probably more a Shoujo Ai fan rather than Yuri, but eh, I prefer to sum both up under the Yuri label altogether. So... I guess that's it? I don't really consider myself that good at writing introductions, but this should do, doesn't it? As I already said, if there are any questions just say the word. Other than that I'll hope for a good stay in this group. ^^ |

I'm a touhou fan myself and love every minute of being one! (Countless yuri doujins also is a plus. ^-^) Lol Welcone to the club, I hope you enjoy what we have to offer, the discussions along with the amazing community here. Everyone is helpful so ask anything and I'm positive they can help you out. (Recommendations and what not.) I myself haven't played many VNs but I liked Aoi Shiro if you haven't tried it. It gets intensely dole at times but the relationships are worth the wait plus the story is decent. Glad to have you! |

Thanks then! Anyways, I did play Aoi Shiro - though I'd need to refresh my memory on that one since it's been a while since I've played it.I do remember liking it, though. Well, sometimes the Touhou fandom can be a bit exhausting, especially if they just spontaneously start throwing memes around... but eh, I'm still enjoying my time in the fandom, so that's it. |
