the first episode that has really confused me to the point where im going have to rewatch it to make sure i understand everything...

so, people at this school, or at least the people wearing rings, dont age so long as they dont leave the school grounds AND in order to get a rose crest ring you must get a contract with akio? so akio is the mastermind manipulating everything behind the scenes with these duels? so what does this have to do with bringing revolution to the world?
i also dont understand... is mamiya actually dead or pretending to be? because we've seen him around being... well not dead lol?

aslo i have NO fucking clue what those pointing hands are meant to symbolize
@Seijatachiiii They symbolize several things. Passage of time and his feelings. Yet they're like the old PC mouse clicker, because Mikage is robotic in nature. The hand points to the lady drinking tea and leaving a lipstick stain behind on the cup. Then we see the hand point to it again, but in Mikage's private office. That means he kept the cup, which shows that he liked her. Another thing is the passage of time. They have a conversation that lasts about a few minutes. The first time the hand points, it points to a cat. Then during the conversation, it points to see two cats. That means that the first cat found a mate. Then it points to the cats, and we see the two cats with a younger cat. That means that during their conversation, that lasted a few minutes, the cat found a mate and had a kid that was able to walk. That means that at the bare minimum, like the base minimum, a few months have passed. Heck, maybe even a few years. Yet their conversation is only a few minutes. That means that time passes differently at the academy, than it does in real life.

All the flashback episodes are A-1. Disturbing, weird, and fascinating, all at once.

I wondered how long ago the flashback took place, but the people at Nemuro Hall all had 80s style clothing with the huge jackets. The 80's to 1997 isn't that long ago, but I guess the saying is subjective to the person saying it.

I'm not sure how to feel about a lot of the more interesting episodes of this anime having no duels in them. Manipulation and tragedy for sure, but no Mary Sue battles to be seen here.
