| There was much sacrifice in this episode, and it really did convey the extent to which Mental Models like Iona and Takao have developed — from entirely pragmatic war machines, into people with connections and emotions they've become acquainted with by their own accord; though of course, they're still all very effective combatants. The atmosphere on-board while Gunzou was close to dying was as silent, cold and desolate as you could imagine. From how the twin ships broke the news to Kongou about Maya's true function, you'd think they were intentionally trying to screw with her head, so as to make her fully redundant in the eyes of the Admiralty Code. |
