Each series would still be the same size, but on the top anime page they would be represented as a franchise, so the Gintama Franchise would be one entry on the top anime page but each season would still have their own pages. And the score would be found by using the tv series score and not the ovas, specials, or movies. I was thinking of having it for the lists too though, it could shorten them a lot and keep some things near eachother(some seasons have different names which puts them in different parts of the list).IntroverTurtle said: Reverb_Shock said: I think on the suggestions board somewhere.IntroverTurtle said: Where do I sign up?Support the group by franchise suggestion, we can change the world. Yes this is a really good suggestion. A part of a show can't really be rated separately. A better alternative is to rate the series as a whole. Mod Edit: Quote tower put into spoiler tag. It's offensive to claim anyone who likes something you don't (whether you dislike it or simply never experienced it) is 'fanboying' when saying they love it. You're essentially making a mockery of any opinion that doesn't coincide with yours at any given time, and that's more offensive than someone calling you a dipshit if you ask me. You did not offer an opinion, you offered an attack on a group of people you don't agree with. There is a difference. "Sounds like fanboyism" is not an opinion, in fact there is nothing there that could be called an 'opinion', it's a blind smear against anyone who likes the series and nothing else - bait you posted knowingly. Opinions are not assumptions about things you have no information on - "sounds like fanboyism" is a guess, an assumption, a shitty thing to say; not an opinion. "This tastes like shit" is an opinion. "Whoever eats this sort of thing must be assholes" is not an opinion, it's a judgmental and ignorant generalization that is rather offensive. Mod Edit: Quote tower fixed. |

For example, if you call me a Code Geass or Clannad fanboy, I would gladly reply that yes, indeed I am. Did I say in my original post that Gintama is bad? I hear youtube reviewers (Arkada ex) use it to himself often enough that I take it that it can also have neutral meaning. Apparently not. If you guys who are offended absolutely can't interpret the word "fanboyism" any other way, I apologize. I guess I won't use this word as thoughtlessly in the future. |

Smells like fanboyism to me. Your opinion? I haven't watched it either, but instead of asking for people's opinions about a show you never watched, just form your own opinion. It's pretty good, but it's kinda overrated here, there are better comedies out there for sure (GTO and DMC to name 2) and it's annoying to see the same name repeated in 4 of the 10 spots, especially considering the top list is a good way to find great anime to watch, the reason I watched LOGH and Hajime no Ippo was because I saw them at the top list, I wouldn't even have known about them if it wasn't for it. But hey! At least Gintama deserves to be in the top 10 more than Clannad, that one is the real overrated anime in the top list (it would have been good if it wasn't for that terrible and lame happy ending they pulled, my flame shield is ready btw) |

For example, code geass combined (50eps) is better for raters because neither season can form a whole story by itself. When we rate, we rate the entire story (hopefully), not just half of the story. Another example for this argument is Haruhi Suzumiya. Both seasons should definitely be a combined entry, as well as Kakumeiki Valvrave. However, a practical difficulty may appear. If people only finished season 1 and not season 2, MAL system don't consider them actually finishing that series, so it is either categorized watching, on-hold, or dropped.
