They could do a second season from the Special: Another Epilogue though.
Alcyone. Electra. Maia. Taygeta. Calaeno. Asterope. Merope.

A 24 episode remake first then possibly a season 2. Idk how they would pull off a season 2 though. Maybe a follow up of how their lives as they're reincarnated. The ending of the last episode might give some leeway for a new storyline.

I don't know why everyone is complaining that a second season would suck or be a complete failure.
I myself, would love a second season, even if it's just about them in the afterlife, even a ova about them meeting and together would be nice, it wouldn't ruin it at all.
The fact that most people who are satisfied with the depressing ending and the 10 second clip at the very end obviously have sort of issue, I hope they do release an ova or a second season picking up from that 10 second clip, if you guys don't want one then don't watch it, it's as simple as that.

This has seriously been my favorite anime and if they don't produce a second season or an ova, hell I'll buy the rights to it and produce it myself with the same actors and everything >:O no matter the cost!

Can't wait to listen to all the ignorant replies, nothing's impossible. ^-^

prequel? Chances are slim

Sequel? Very unlikely

No sequel. I'd rather have an OVA series taking place near the end of the show that would flesh out the rest of the characters who didn't get a proper send off.

I agree. Chronologically speaking, it wouldn't make sense to make a sequel. A prequel? Maybe, but why delve into prequels when there's still so much to work with from Season 1?

An ova series like you mentioned could be considered an unofficial sequel to some. I don't care about labels, I just want to know more about TK and Shiina.

There are prequel in form of manga and LN.
Kickstarter for Rokujouma is fully funded. Good work everyone. Lets wait for the result of our hard work together.

It would be next to impossible for them to make a second season. But what I think the creators should do is make an O.V.A that shows what happened to them after they were reincarnated. Because, I'm sure that I'm not the only one curious about what happened to the Afterlife Battlefront, especially Uzuru and Kanade, also Hinata and Yui.

For me chances are low. In my opinion angel beats is already kinda rushed for only 12 eps, but it just makes the matters worse if you make another season. for me the story has ended perfectly. sure it will be nice i they do but i am more interested in OVAs explaining about some other member's past, what happened in the 3 days when yuri fainted etc. in my opinion the only thing AB kinda failed is to explain the story more cearly.(Why otonashi arrives later than Kanade and wth is angel player etc.)

Last of all, there is still 1 question that i want to ask:
Is the internet in the afterlife connected to the real world's internet??? If so it would be scary 0_0

Second season actually they might make a second season just adding new characters in even though they should redo the entire thing since it felt rushed

That's what I was wondering! Lol.

Angel Beats would have been a good Series If It was longer. Not sure why they only had 12 Episodes :/

IMO, after Another Epilogue, they can probably have a season 2 based off of that. Seeing that Otonashi is by himself, and more people just flow in after death, the cycle can just repeat itself I guess. But from the original series no, it's pretty obvious because everyone left. Then you have the manga, Angel Beats!: Heaven's Door. The prequel that tells you what happened when the SSS was first formed. I just want more Angel Beats really..

In my opinion a Prequel might work, but most likely would be ten times harder than a sequel, and we would still not have the closure were looking for!! I feel as if they need to produce a second season where they start where they left off, Where Otonashi finds Kanade and meets her after being reincarnated. And from then on start to reunite with the original SSS Battlefront like over a period of episodes. And then for the Season Finale ( Implying they would do a third season) Say they meet Naoi (The Hypnotizing guy that like loves Otonashi) and he Hypnotizes everyone together and they remember Their past life or something. Idk, Im just saying that they can't end Angel Beats with a 10 second clip implying that there will be a second season and make us hope for one. And I havent even got to the part where the whole season was completely rushed!!!!!! They could've made the first season two seasons and gave us more background info. But still i would've wanted a season after that.

And I can' believe that some of you would actually want a remake! Like Seriously!!! Do you know how hard and odd it would be for them to do that??

In conclusion: I belive that Visual arts/ or Key should work with Jun Maeda and Put together a season two. Where everyone from the SSS Battlefront meet up again and regain their past life memories. But no new actors, just no, it would ruin everything. But new characters would be cool.

I heard Jun Maeda is working on a VN for Angel Beats. What they will probably do is remake the anime with 22 or more episodes, with the new routes that will appear on the VN. That´s just a guess, I really loved the show and want to see more of it :D

I don't think they will have a seasons 2. The series left a lot of questions open and I think that's the way they intended it to be. That doesn't stop them from making OVAs, VNs or anything else though.

I saw in other forums that the sequel was rumored to be called Angel Beats! Second Term...although the release date was not confirmed...
I'm worried that maybe it was left unfinished and the creators decided to just make other anime instead of a sequel for Angel Beats!.

I got the other links from other forums as well.
I'm really rooting for Angel Beats!Second Term to be released though it may not be the same characters, I think it is a challenge to Jun Maeda and the other creators to attract the same or more audiences the past anime have with the new set of characters.(and still whip up a nice, one of a kind anime.)

i see what you mean but wheather its a remake, OVA, Movie, or a Season 2 ill be happy even if nothing comes they may redo it in the future when everyones forgotten about it or do like what they did with Kanon and made Kanon (2006) we could have that.

They Are reincarnated into their own bodies... At the last episode, NOT OVA, After ending... Kanade and Otonashi Meet... Maybe they could have children or a wedding... That could stir up some view and meet their other friends!

I want one but I don't want a continuation of the first season. Instead I want them to make one and have every episode be about a different character's past and how they moved on. I know there's the Heavens Door manga and the Track Zero Light Novel but I can't find the LN in English and Heavens Door is being translated way too slowly. Hopefully the Visual Novel will give us the chance to learn about the characters past

A season 2? All the characters were able to fulfill their regrets and pass away leaving a sense of happiness in their minds. So if there was a season 2 in development, there would be nothing other than a new set of characters that will relate back to the characters in season 1 in a way.

stupid ignorant people are stupid and ignorant

it was confirmed for spring of 2011 but that fell threw sadly

BUT you clearly didnt watch the show there was 15 members of the SSS brigade only 3 of them vanished with a story there was other 3 that left easily but not a story behind them SO if they wanted to do a second season (not saying there going to) that would leave 9-10 members they could tell there story PLUS 1-3 filler episodes to make up a second season as more of a middle-log

ALSO if they wanted they never showed that Yuzuru moved on so he could still be there well "helping others who get trapped here move on" so all new people with all new stories PLUS being made by the same people who made clannad it sure as hell wont be hard for them to come up with more bittersweet stories for the series

overall i feel that the show ended to quickly and definitely need more content to fill the middle but putting aside the loose string(S) at the end of it i felt it did come to a completion

Highly unlikely, but if they did it will most likely be with all new characters (plus Yuzuru if the second ending is to be believed and he stayed behind, but for me personally I think he ended up leaving), because where else are they going to go with the current characters? Have them somehow find each other again in their new lives? And then what? I just don't see it going anywhere from there.

Having said that, if they were to have a second season I would want it not to be a new story but instead a prequel of sorts, to explain more about the backstories of the members of the Afterlife Battlefront who didn't get enough development the first time around (especially Kanade, she was such a major character towards the end but we hardly know anything about her). Maybe they could pull a Haruhi and make a second season of episodes that fit into the timeline of the first series, or something like that.

This story is over, maybe they can make a 2nd season, but with different characters, places, another story and a new title... In short, a new anime. But this one is over, only a (longer) remake could be great.

A remake is a lot more likely than a sequel... since the story has pretty much concluded. I say this as the BD/DVD sales were very good. I have read that Maeda Jun had to cram the whole story into 13 eps when he thought he would be getting at least 2-cours.

I think there was a prequel light novel called, "Angel Beats! Track Zero". That could be another avenue for new animation material, like a few OVAs or something.
