The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake - I havn't seen the original 70's version)

It was okay, it seemed like superb directing and production values wasted on a typical, relatively clichéd horror movie.

wtf

The Way Way Back - C-

Lame all the way. A massive letdown from Jim Rash since he was just fresh off the brilliance that was The Descendants. The lead was an absolute wooden cardboard of an actor. How the hell did he get the gig? His mimicry seemed intentional but a better actor could have played out the angle way more naturally. Thank god for the grand Hollywood gift we have named Sam Rockwell. Motherfucker is on a roll.

Prisoners - B+

A textbook mystery drama, yet a very, very well-done genre movie. Religious symbolisms were abound to sustain the sluggish and formulaic plot but in the end the movie's technicality saved the day. The directing was assured and Hugh Jackman gave the performance of his career. Wolverine looks like a joke now.

Anime wise. Strong World Z was a great One Piece movie

I think the last movie I watched was Jackass 3D (and that was a few months ago that I watched that, if I am not mistaken)

It was pretty good, I guess. Still like the grandpa pranks the most.

Rewatched Second Skin, a documentary about people who play MMOs.

Great movie, and online with some good quality. I'd really recommend it.

Outrage Beyond

'Beat' Takeshi's still got it. Great sequel to a fantastic yakuza film.
"Surprise is an insubstantial blade, a sword worthless in war. It breaks when troops rally, it snaps when commanders hold the line, but fear never fades. So let the enemy know we come, let their fears defeat them as everything falls dark, as the worlds sun sets, as the city is wreathed in its final night. Let ten thousand howls promise ten thousand claws."

Benny and Joon. It's a pretty good movie. I watched it in psychology class and there was a lot to the movie than I thought. It's interesting how every scene is relevant to the story to the movie.

i just saw Ender's Game.
I'm a HUGE fan of the book, so i already knew it would never be able to compare to the experience of reading it.
but overall i actually enjoyed it. some of the effects were quite awesome, like the game room, but it lacked the psychological depth of the book - a lot.
Asa Butterfield was amazing though. He really seemed like Ender to me!

Paprika is the best movie I've ever watched so far.

Advanced technology was used by Atsuko, a psychiatrist to study the human mind. She developed a machine that allows her to enter the dreams of her patients and study their psyches from the insides, where she does her duty as Paprika. Atsuko's machine was then stolen by a thief, and Paprika gets out to take the machine back as a wave of psychological, unstable tears go through the city.

that's my kind of movie: a film of dreams and reality.

The Wolverine. 6/10

The only thing that sold me on the movie was that it's in Japan. I have no love for the X-Men, especially Wolverine. Magneto is the only one I dig but whatever. It's worth the watch if you're bored at 2am on a Saturday and all your friends are with their girlfriends LOL.

Last movie I went to see at the cinema was "This is the End"

Absolutely hilarious for the most part, utterly ridiculous and even cringeworthy in some others. Seeing all the actors play somewhat similar but fictional versions of theirselves was pretty amusing. Channing Tatum's cameo was class.

Thor 2. 8.5/10 The movie was a typical super hero action movie but the ending made the movie great. Marvel without a doubt is thinking about bringing one of the most popular story arcs from the Marvel comics to the big screen. I personally can't wait for it because I will be able to see the return of my second favorite marvel super hero to the big screen, the ultimate alliance of the Marvel super heroes and the Mad Titan of Saturn crushing them in order to woo his dear Mistress Death.

Antichrist. 7/10 - Jesus christ what a movie. Torture porn in an artsy fartsy way. Unlike regular torture porn its a Von Trier film so you get breathtaking cinematography, symbolism, mysticism and world class acting. And some very solid writing as well. I really enjoyed the dialogue. Ultimately it's a movie that you can interpret in many ways and left me hollow and sick.

Martyrs 5/10- After having seen Antichrist my rating for Martyrs dropped quite a bit. At first I thought the ending was clever and together with the story I felt it was ample motive for all the gruesome violence but it really wasn't. Antichrist manages to be more shocking and more impactfull with much less violence. Because it has story and characters. Martyrs leaves you feeling worse because it's very much an empty experience with mostly unmotivated violence. But it's still a good watch if you like torture porn and vastly superior to the hostel series and the later Saws.
