omg yes! Sometimes i get attached to the characters and every time the series is down to the last episode, i will do whatever it takes to make it a good one / final chapter moment. i remember watching outran high school host club and how it was soooo hard to get over them. kaichou-wa-maid sama? - usui and misa are truly the best couple and still, I'm would never be able to get over them. last time i watched sword art online, kirito and asuna's relationship was far the best! i cried over that anime a lot! it was so beautiful! it gave me this tight feeling and sense of boredom to my own life because these anime characters have wonderful lives. it sometimes makes me think; reality is crap, i hope anime world exist! like when you drool over anime characters because real people suck! ): i know how u feel. i sometimes act cool at school and try being a cool character like in the anime. when cool kids sit at the back and stare at the window. -_- i wish they invent 'nerve gear' like the one in sword art online, where anime fanatic like us would hang- that would be cool!!!!!!!!

I think I get what you mean, I felt pretty down after watching Nichijou and Danshi koukousei no nichijou. I don't really understand why but it did make me feel a bit down even though I was laughing a lot while watching it.

If you're watching an anime and not feeling anything, it means you're wasting your time. After all, if you weren't the least emotionally stimulated, it means you are just watching for the sake of it. Depending on the story and the setting, yes, sometimes there are occasions where I find myself being sad.

When i watch too many in little time. I watched Accel World in two days and because of that i felt really bad. But when i watch weekly, like i`m watching log horizon now, i feel nothing. I feel it is more like the frequency of it because you get dwelled in it.

I get depressed when I watch any anime where a cute guy and a really pretty girl are together. Especially when one of them are the main character. I hate anime couples.......and main characters. Especially when the hot/cute/sweet guy is taken. I get jealous easily.

I become depressed after I finish an anime. You die a little on the inside.
If the anime is pretty sad, I will shed A tear. But there are anime where I cry freaking water falls.

Occasionally. If a series has a brilliant ending (that affects my favorite character, after all, I can only get invested in the character I loved throughout the series) that has a hopeless, depressing, etc tone to it then I'll reflect on it for a while after finishing the series. But it tends to wear off in a few days or less.

Ah, OK, I wondered in what context you meant - for example, I get depressed watching anime because I know I'm doing nothing with my life, even though I try, and that's depressing but series... Any series that involves death or innocence being lost... I dunno, I find a lot of romance/romcom can be depressing but that ain't my jam... Though you want a tear-jerker, grave of the fireflies or, the only show as of yet that's made me bawl - Anohana. That shit hurts

Ok.

Every anime where the main protagonist has the skills to save the cute person who shouldn't have died =_= but the main protagonist "needed" the death to become stronger or something.
A great protagonist once said, "It's only overpowered if you can't return the favor!"

The ending of Chrono Crusade made me feel empty at first until I actually thought it over and realized that it's a mostly positive ending. Air had the same effect.

Some parts of xxxHolic also messed me up and Ai Yori Aoshi especially made me feel empty at points. The latter is different though because under normal circumstances it'd probably make me feel great, but I was in the midst of a pretty shitty time involving a girl I dated and all of the romance stuff just made it all worse. I had to stop watching for a few days at a time because I couldn't handle it. I was still determined to finish it and I'm actually glad I did because it did help in the end.

It used to. Kinda similar to you, it's usually the slice of life/romance one's that to got to me because they are in the realm of possibility and the most relatable-ish. Which means I have no excuses like "Oh well, I wouldn't exactly be able to do that because..." or "That can't happen because I don't have some op power."
But when it's realistic and depicts a life similar to mine - I kinda freeze up and have to re-evaluate my whole life choices, sometimes ending in a short existential crisis.
But that was me months back and even then it wouldn't phase me for that long. My life's probably the best it's been atm so it's a bit harder for animes effect me like that any more.

Nah, seeing idealized, fictional people go on wondrous, fictional adventures honestly only makes me want to haul my fat bum off the chair and go do something great, or at least ok, as well. I mean, if Edward Elric was able to work hard enough to become a master alchemist by the time he like twelve, then I should have no excuse to not study for a high school chemistry test enough to ace it!

Yes I actually do. Sometimes seeing the amazing lives of characters, fun experiences, and near-perfect female characters I seem to feel aggravated because I know that most of these don't actually exist. Its easier to be happy with what one has than to be chasing after something you can never achieve.
