I've rarely been this annoyed by any episode throughout the 3 seasons... this was so wrong! >< There have been many times when the person got sent to hell for horribly wrong reasons but this one really pisses me off :(

Hell Girl... didn't sing...

This inspires me to pen the revenge fic The Melancholy of Uncultured Whitey! JUST YOU WAIT, I WILL HEAR NOTO MAMIKO'S SEXY SINGING VOICE!!

Now you tell me how those previous two sentences make sense together, because I can't figure it out.

hum i don't know what to say about this episode i feel like Jun might not have been nice in the past but she certainly was right about what she said. i mean of course she was bad but she would have to deal with it her self now and it doesn't give the right to this other girl to try becoming famous trough Jun that makes her worse then Jun cause blackmailing is a worse case.

I think it will cover the entire city.
But I will prefer more the school setting instead of the Futakomori copy and paste.

By the way another shallow episode. I didn't feel any sympathy with the characters, and this never happened with Jigoku Shoujo, I always empathized with the characters. Man this is demoralizing.

What happens to yuzuki when Enma go punish the people? She passes away? She disappears?
It's possible that her friend saw anything?

I miss Hell Girl..
2/5

Oh, the preview seems promising, I don't recall seeing someone send a parent or elder to hell..

Damn you Studio Deen you fucking trolls just when I thought I would hear Ai sing!

That girl was fucking stupid for killing Jun. Jun bowed down to her, Jun even apologized in front of an entire audience and that didn't even satisfy her anger. Now she's going to hell for her dumb decision and also saddened tons of people.

Jun saying that that girl was a bad singer was a little harsh. She probably wouldn't have gotten sent to hell if she wasn't so rude.

That dude who tried to rape Jun was fucking nasty. Nearly threw up.

Decent episode. Maybe a tad bit better than the last episode though I'm patiently waiting for a really good episode like all the good ones we had last season...

The third season so far is terrible.

Oh, pitiful shadow cloaked in darkness.
Thy actions cause men pain and suffering.
Thy hollow soul drowns in thy sins.
How would you like to see what death is like?

Ai definitely looked good on stage!

But I do think that what happened to Jun was undeserved. She may have been acting rudely to the other girl, but middle schoolers are often like that. The girl should have known that she didn't actually have talent, which is required in such a highly competitive industry. She could have spread the photos ad easily affected Jun's future.

One thing I will gripe about, and always have from the beginning, is that even though they do well at portraying the circumstances that cause people to hate one another, Jigoku Shoujo does a terrible job at being realistic about what happens after these people disappear. There should be some major investigation into such an odd string of disappearances (something that I thought Death Note made a more fair attempt at) in order to discover what happened, rather than being "oh well we can't find them"

Having said that, I really love this series because of the moral questions it raises in regards to human interactions and punishment - you could say of a divine nature in this case. Do people truly deserve to have their judgement cast by the people whose lives they have impacted? Especially seeing some people who could more arguably say deserve what happens to them (i.e. the previous episode) and comparing it to those who definitely didn't deserve something of that magnitude for their "sins"

Ai don't tease us like this, we wanted to hear u sing

@NostalgiaDrive94 Yuzuki doesn't disappear when Ai comes out, she only becomes immobile

I don't understand Japanese, so I was totally lost when I was watching this episode. My initial thoughts were that they used to be rivals, but one became famous, while the other one not so famous. The not so famous one was jealous and sent the other one to hell... did I get that straight? And the revenge was lame (although I did laugh when Enma Ai tried to be the pop star)

This is the first episode of the third season that I was not satisfied with. I thought the other two were good.

u didn't pay attention as it seems the black haired girl was bullied by that blond idol to the point she quit the idol agency cause oh her

maarika said:
Why do you people keep watching it if you hate it? :P

In case you haven't noticed, there is no black and white scenarios with any of the characters involved in each episode (which is also one of the merits this series has), the point of it is to make you question your moral values; what is right and what is not? And if you have watched the previous seasons then you should also know by now that there are no clear-cut answers to those questions.

In other words, Jun was not noble or innocent, but she did realise that she had been wrong and wanted to make amends. And Masako harboured deep-rooted hatred for her because of what Jun had done in the past and also because of jealousy/inferiority 'cause she knew she could never make it as far in becoming a pop idol as Jun did.

Also, Jigoku concert was cute, I'd expect Ai to do something like that. Still, I liked the previous two episodes more myself, too.

well they are idiots who like to bitch & whine XD

I really felt bad for the two characters that hated each other. Although the other ones singing kinda sucked. But I think Jun really did want to apologize for her previous actions. It's just unfortunate that things had to turn out the way they did. Two people that really did not need to go to hell did, unlike previous episodes. I would like to see an episode where the two people work out their problems without pulling the string but I don't see that happening. I like it when the hell girl sends people to hell and she puts on that skit with all those other guys.

Oh btw I have not seen the other two season so sorry if I don't know the names of the characters. I might watch the other two though cause from what I have seen it looks like a cool anime.

She didnt deserve to go to hell at least from the viewer stand point to morisato it is different, this was a girl who destroyed her dreams basically her everything did jun deserve to go to hell no but its different when your not apart of how morisato feels this was a great episode

This ep was really sad for me. I mean she felt sorry and we all make mistakes and if she has changed I don't understand why send her to hell. I felt so bad when all of her fans were screaming her name, for me she was not bad I mean yeah she did something bad but if she regrets what she did and she apologize why is she so mad? They didn't even asked if she regret it because they knew she did.

Jun didn't just disappear and go off somewhere.. She freaking disappeared ON STAGE!

Mystere said:
Jun wasn't even sent to hell out of revenge. She was sent because the other girl was simply jealous. Why would Ai even accept this case? It goes against her policy of taking people who deserve to be punished.

That's true.. The system is based around revenge, not jealousy. But then again, there have been a lot of unfair hell sending in past eps.

well issue is what the blond idol said in the end, she is bad at it & that destroyed any chance of the black haired girl forgiving her she is sore looser cause she cant accept that she sucks at singing, i know that's dumb & she is dumb, just explained how her mind worked in this situation

& true she didn't deserve hell, they way she already mentally tortured her was enough

Siva said:
I actually like Jun when she tried to stop Masako from having a debut with that such singing level of her skill. Jun knew that if she letting Masako doing the debut, Masako won't be able to survived after that because she is only going to crushed her own dream. You know what will happened if you are doing the most embarrassing thing in front of many people that you expected them to cheer you up with your very best effort that you put on.

I think they should tried to solve problem more effective instead of just sending everyone to hell each episode passed.

what she did in past to her she does deserve little punishment, but hell is overkill & dumb also what i said above

but i agree, with not helping her she did a favor for her cause it would have ended up badly, & also like i said above she is sore looser..., she should find a new dream instead being hung on this one

Meritas said:
Yeah, this episode was less than "nothing special." Nothing was done in a good way, probably I watch it just because there are more episodes after this one. And because of Yuzuki. Both previous eps are better than this one, and the reason for the sending this time was really too shallow.

WTF did Yuzuki wrong? nothing! she not to blame for this SH!

Awww, and here I am wanting to hear Ai sing... :(.

Anyway, poor girl, getting sent to hell after changing and all, I guess, what you do in the past will really come back to bite you in the ass.

u got it wrong, the fameus1 bullied her in the past when she wasn't fameus, bullied to the to the point where she quit, so black haired wanted a appology from her but then she desided that the fameus1 (blond) should take her tge black haired to blonds agency for another chance but blond refuced cause she sucks at it and she couln't handle the truth so she send the blond to hell

lol.. angel999's comments are as entertaining as the anime itself ^^
to be honest, didnt really like this episode either.. nah, i just hate that nerdy gal. i think she didnt even have to make the pact with enma to go to hell. she'd go to hell becoz of her hatred anyways. she just made the pretty blondy go earlier.
but then again, jun doesn't really deserve compassion either.. sure, she's very noble, admitting her mistakes and apologizing.. but she didn't even try to be a friend. and about angel999's comment about beautiful girl should go to heaven, hahaha.. ^^; i imagine there are more beautiful girls in hell than in heaven.. beautiful women are the ones who always drag men into hell.
and i was expecting more from enma this episode during the jigoku concert.. lol.. the music was good.. but she was just standing there!! ^^; so disappointing..

yes she bullied her, but in the end she send her to hell cause she couln't handle the truth that she suck at singing (her reason for hate changed) making her reason for hate betty and dumb and shallow, so its bit wirse then u think her reason i mean

This world is horrible. You can't do anything about your faith. If someone wants to send you to hell, you can just say goodbye. She didn't deserve this tbh, not after what she has done. I just hope Masako is going to have the worst life because that's what she deserves.

I wonder if it will be like the last 2 seasons or if this time we will see all the "executions".
I don't really like this season so far but all like whole Jigoku Shoujo as a series.
Maybe it's because of the bad quality of the video I'm watching(very slow computer ugh), but I do not like transformation sequence either.
I'm not a fan of so much things being the same every episode it's kinda like wasting the time cause of the lack of ideas.
Anyway. This episode was nothing special tbh.
But I'll keep watching and we'll see.

Ho ho. The anime is slowly getting back on its feet and sharpening its dilemmas again.
Also the new ED song is good. Especially the first few melancholic sounding lines.

funny how Noto Mamiko sings the ED's but didn't sing as Enma Ai

a pop star evaporated mid-performance right there on stage with hundreds of ppl watching... you'd think it'd have generated a bit more buzz. yet they act and talk like she just quietly went missing or something, strange
