| Depends on the sub-community we're talking about. MAL is, for the most part, a good forum (it's sure as hell better than /a/ ever was). At least you can keep a constant DISCUSSION on MAL. Anime community in general? Again, depends where you look. Here, Good. Forum sites dedicated to one specific shounen? Bad. One thing I will say about the anime community that sucks is that most of us can't really contribute/have a say in the industry. We're merely side-viewers compared to the main fan base, and if they don't like something that we do (Sakamichi no Apollon, Kokoro Connect solely for that bullying incident), we get boned in the process, don't get more because it sold like crap, and we can't do a thing about it. But the anime community is one of the more decent communities I've been a part of, as of late. |
