I was wondering...are there any romance anime shows that features a blind or deaf female? If there are no romance shows that fit that description, are there any in the drama or slice of life genres? I don't think I have seen an anime that features that type of a character, though I could be wrong and just don't remember seeing a show like that.

Shion from Shion no Ou became mute after her parents were murdered. No romance from what I know.

I have actually just recently played through a VN with a character like that. It's what made me want to see an anime with a similar type of character (I quite enjoy seeing actual animation). It seems my request is something that hasn't really been tapped into in the anime market.

I'm looking for an anime similar to Death Note. Something that has a great and smart story, with not a lot of fillers... Don't really care what's it about, just as long as it's good

Define "good" ;)

Your profile isn't much help either. I'll throw two things out that might interest you.

Fate/Zero

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica (make it to at least through the third episode - if you're not aware of what this show is about it may surprise you)

My favorites include: Mimi wo Sumaseba, Natsume Yuujinchou, Fairy Tail, Higashi no Eden, Dennou Coil, Samurai Champloo, Uchuu Kyoudai, Usagi Drop, Kimi to Boku, Un-Go, Sakamichi no Apollon, Kimi ni Todoke, Mawaru Penguindrum, Hanasaku Iroha.

If it's okay with you guys, quote me if you have a suggestion. > . <

Shakugan no Shana (maybe, I liked seasons 1 and 2, but disliked season 3)

So it wasn't just me...I haven't been able to bring myself to finish season 3 (on ep 14), if I do, will I understand more and be more okay with the decision that the main makes for doing what he did?...I have this eerie feeling that the whole thing is going to fall by the wayside with no real resolution...OR that the show will become over the top serious for what it used to be.

It's possible that this has been asked for, but I'm not exactly up for searching through 26 pages with the possibility of being wrong, but I'm looking for more shows that are similar to "Another" I thought that was an amazing show and because it was so short I've felt sort of empty since it ended (not that other great shows haven't come along or been discovered by me in the time since), although, if you look at my list then it won't really make sense because there are only about two other shows on it that are anywhere near similar. However, if you do want to take a look at my list to see if you can gauge my likes and give some other recommendations, that would be awesome as well.

Thanks for reading.

Alright, here are some kind of abstract recommendations...

Durarara!! is a normal show, about normal things...right? The plot twists and turns starting out as one thing and ending as something completely different. Also plenty of mystery.

Higashi no Eden is a show based on a game a man forces upon people...kind of like the game the forced upon the students in Another.

Wolf's Rain...just for a bit of spice. I'm not really sure why but I kept think about then while looking for anime similar to Another...like a gut feeling you know?

I don't know of anything more similar to Death Note than Code Geass. It's the same sort of deep plotting/planning, trickery, manipulation, cat and mouse type deal. Very similar main character.

Code Geass might not be as "smart" though because the events that happen have a high tendency to feel so convenient to the plot that they come off as ridiculous, at least for me. But it's still very entertaining.

Oh, I didn't see you up there...anyways, I agree with Timofmars, Code Geass will definitely interest you.

I'll also throw in Durarara!!...you won't even know what the series is about until like half way through, be patient and you will be rewarded. :-)

Shiki

Thanks for the suggestions Motion, I've added them all to my list, actually, I already had Higurashi and Mirai Nikki on plan to watch, but I decided that all my suggestions I'd put on "watching" since it is the first thing I see when I look up what I want to watch, and therefore would get around to them quicker....I think I'll start with denpa teki since it's only a 2 ep OVA.

No matter how many times I see it, I still shock by these amazingly stupid recommendation.....

This one is a surprise. I can't see a shred of relation for these two...i mean how can you compare a school life comedy to a mystery drama?

Seem like I go off topic but anyway....I need some rec for a series with some serious twist plot and has a dark mysterious feel, with some magic/supernatural prefer, like D-gray man, Pandora Hearts, Zetsuen no Tempest.

I was about to recommend Durarara!! but you've already seen it...I guess I'll go back in my hole.

You should probably wait for another recommendation, but this one is close, I think, to what you want... Higashi no Eden. It it very dark, has plenty of mystery, and the plot twists are some of the best I've seen...unfortunately they don't have any magic or supernatural...unless you count a concierge who can get you anything you want...for a price.

then i would really recommend you the 3 I mention. They have good plot...and a tragedy I might add. Well, if you ever feel like it. All 3 are from manga which are still ongoing but slow.

I wonder why most awesome manga always underrate and unpopular while most junk in JUMP got weekly release...or maybe that it's good because it's slow?

Trying out some crowdsourcing here, too~

Does anybody may know some title with "time" as a relevant element in it?
"Time" as in time travel, time planes, time loops, relationships with diffrent time perception frames (i.e. one immortal or almost immortal or with frozen time and the other mere human who didn't even live half as long or so, but not too heavy into the space opera genre), playing around with time frames as by direction (Baccano-ish), rebirth, time loops or recuring (tragedy?) pattern that repeat themselves through generations (Bokurano-ish), dreamish space-distorting settings (not too much brainwrecking dementia-ish through), which don't seem to hold much of a concept of time, or genereally a title, in which a bigger timeframe elapses and which of actual importance (as in characters grow to be adults for instance).

And that I have not yet watched.

For some reason I get the feeling I am already through with whatever may hit into these criteria (except Higurashi and Umineko, as they have to much splatter to my taste), but perhaps there is still some hidden gem?
I don't even nescessarily need subs.

Aria the Animation and sequels. There is some, though not a lot. It's not the main point, but it is somewhat important to the overall theme regarding the main character. I can't say more without giving away an important plot twist.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou and sequel - it's only touched on in these four short animes based on the manga, but the perception of time of the main character relative to the supporting characters is very much central to the way the main character thinks and her thoughts and perceptions about this feature a lot in the manga. The anime are fine but only scratches the surface of the story in the manga. The manga is much better.

3 holds for me a meaning of "great disspapointment" which results in a "Very Bad" rating.
It had a promising start as I like the general idea, but dragged on like forever, had a quite nice twist and Drama in de Tokyo Arc till Japan Arc, but everything after was a total mess with an ever more unsatifying ending. xxxholic's subsequently didn't make that any better and it also didn't help, that there was time travel, which I usually like. (Rather it was the only reason I did not drop it after the mess started.)
And even these arcs I like looked somewhat dragged with these montrous panels, often enough filling 1-2 full pages. That was also a general problem I had with this title and towards the ending it got only worse... =X

I dont watch that show, so I don't really care but from the premise of Tsubasa, I'm pretty sure Shina would like it as well and giving it a 3 is a little surprising, that's all.

Um. Not really. Well a large timespan does pass and all, but the focus ist more on the space opera and the time element just came in passing by, with not that really any much relevance at all. =X

@shina_luna: regarding the time request:

you can give Higurashi no Naku Koro ni a shot. It deals with a recurring time lapse. It is a horror/psychological/thriller with lots of gore (though a censored version is available). Though to be clear, the time lapse plays a much bigger role in the sequel Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. It is a really great show if you can get past the character designs.

@Shina:
Onigamiden: boy travels back to the Heian era
Crest of Stars/Banner of Stars: slow-paced, somewhat dialogue-heavy space opera which has a similar feel to Spice and Wolf. Touches this theme. The Abh live longer than the humans and there's some romance going on. Because of said romance, the care for details and the elaborate setting in which everything takes place, this problem is also addressed.
Memories - the first Ova, Magnetic Rose fits your request.

I know about that and the general idea does sound like what I want to find, but the character designs aren't even that much the problem but the splatter parts. I unfortunately ran into some trauma-inducing amv compilation of the probably most gruesome and craziest moments of the show, and I am certain, I don't ever want to see them again...
