@itsvero Lelouch - Lelouch is awesome, made the show very interesting to watch. I don't like mecha, but I stuck with it mainly because of him. Akise - One of 3 Mirai Nikki characters I love. I like analytical characters, and I loved the scene where he faked having a diary. I loved Yuno's reaction when he told her he liked Yukiteru too. Erza - I love Fairy Tail characters. Erza is probably outside my top 5, but she's still really cool. Her overreactions to thinks like cake and picnics being ruined are hilarious. Kiritsugu - Just badass all the way through Fate/Zero. Another one of my favourite characters. I wish Shirou was even 1% as cool as Kiritsugu. |

@SaberEdge Goku: Sometimes I think Goku gets overlooked because it's Dragon Ball. He's still a great character which shares a lot of the typical hero traits -- huge appetite, full of joy, but down right serious when push comes to shove. The only time I didn't care for him was in GT, but that was because the whole show wasn't that good anyways. Even then, he was still the best character in it. Akio: I love this guy. He definitely helped make the story in my opinion. He's the kind of father everyone wishes they had. He's very lax at times, but there's a lot going through his head. Deidara: Sorry, I hated this guy. I really couldn't wait for him to get off the screen. Saber: Typical archetype when you think of female leads these days. I always thought Saber was a great character, but I don't think she's the alpha and omega of female leads. Yagami: Light was one of my favorites until recently when I had to bump him off my list to make room for new ones. In the beginning, you really connect with him and his views on society. Although his ideals become corrupted through the plot, I always seemed to find myself rooting for him in one-way or another. To the very end, he was a complex and intriguing character. |

@Verdale Sakata Gintoki - I think Gintoki's my favorite Gintama character. He's just so goofy yet can be serious when he wants to be. I like characters that can pull that off, and even though Gintama is rich with comedy, being a comedy series, I feel like he way he does it is genuine. This just reminds me I need to watch more Gintama. Kyon - He's the reason I keep coming back to the Haruhi series. Well, I'm sure for many, he is. At first I thought he was kind of an overanalyzing whiner, but he's grown on me as I went through more of the series (especially since I definitely wasn't liking Haruhi), and definitely became my favorite character in the Disappearance movie. Just his narration and wit are charming, and being so cynical kind of reminds me of myself. Though I suppose a lot of people can relate to Kyon. Kyon would probably be on my favorites list too if I had more room. Ibuki Fuko - I like Fuko! Even though she got on my nerves at times. I didn't realize her arc in Clannad would be so long; I'm actually only halfway through Clannad, but I like what I'm watching. (To me, it went on longer than I thought it would; most people probably wouldn't consider it "long," I suppose.) She is really cute, though. I don't think she's my favorite Clannad character though; after watching Kotomi's arc, I think I'm liking her a lot better. |

@ CardcaptorKitty Greetings. You know, I think you're the only one I've seen who has Ash on a favorite characters list that isn't a new anime fan. Actually, I don't think I've even seen him on the personal hierarchy of a newcomer but I digress. When I think about it more, the reason so many people seem to dislike him is how he seems to reset as a character with each region until the plot calls for it. He's no worse than your standard action shonen lead otherwise. ...Okay, I don't like him but that seems to be the fault of the show itself. Now, Sakura Kinomoto...there is an anime/manga character who holds a special place for me. It shows in part of my namesake actually and it seems to hold true for you as well. Sakura was the first anime girl I really liked and introduced me to moe' when I was still all about action. And you know what? I couldn't have asked for a better "gateway" character to look past the mainstream stuff that I was so focused on. While I can't say Sakura is a favorite character of mine anymore, in my heart of hearts I'll always have a tremendous amount of respect for this Cardcaptor. |

ryuuk- didnt care for him pas the initial HES A MONSTER phase. He doenst really do all that much. Yomi: She was pretty cool she was a good older sister to other girl whose name is eluding me at the moment. Asuka: I don;t like her, I don't like tsunderes much at all is the main thing. |

@NostalgiaCannon Sister: Arakawa Under the Bridge... What can rly say abt this? xD Every chara is just so special. My personal favorirte is Hoshi though but rly everyone is just so ridiculous and over the top, it only comes down to what rly matches the person more. Good choice, good choice <: Katsuragi Keima: I can totally understand why someone would have him as a favorite! I love him as well but just not as much as rest of charas. He must be the only guy I approve of seducing so many girls and even though this can be considered a harem attribute (and it rly is but I never thought abt it as harem since well it's so dif) and be totally ok! Keima<3 Sasa Kazamori: I wasn't a great fan of the series at all and none of the characters made any impression to me so Kazamori is average as well to me. Well I guess she's better than the rest being a program and have this cool attitude but that's it. Maybe she was just in the wrong anime xD |

@Maffy Li Syaoran - cute character. I used to be in love with him when i was a child. Hughes Maes - he's funny.. ...I was very sad when he died United Kingdom - Nice character. I like his tsundere personality Break Xerses - he's absolutely my favourite character of Pandora Hearts. |

Furude, Rika: Oh shit, I really did not want to see this kid ever again, after completing that brilliant anime, Higurashi. Man, I hated her character so much during the series. Maybe it' me saying she wasn't serious enough, and elaborated enough in the first season. It could also be that maybe it's me hating all that moe-genre. Isayama, Yomi: Likeable chick. Sakura, Kyouko: Started out interesting, but seriously she was better off being the hypocrite in my opinion. |

@rederoin Satou Tatsuhiro - A shut-in, hikikomori, thinking he's a target in a conspiracy... I enjoyed watching him. Orihara Izaya - Hilarious how he keeps taunting Shizu-chan Okabe Rintarou - "I AM MAD SCIENTIST! IT'S SO COOOL, SONUVABITCH." He's very amusing, and a good person in general as well. Totally one of the best characters ever in my opinion. |

Lawliet, L: The most noble guy I've ever seen, after Yang Wenli. Interestingly intelligent, too. Okabe, Rintarou: Mad scientist, eh? Seemed like a normal dude with a crazy attitude in the initial episodes but soon became the crazy likeable one by the end. Yeah, El Psy Congroo. Nakahara, Misaki: Lovely girl. Most memorable one from Welcome to the NHK, for me. |

@Solarcrest No, the prairie oyster doesn't really work. Vash - How can someone not like this character? There's a hundred characters with the same personality, but nobody that does it quite like Vash. Two characters from Air Gear - Forgettable series for me, had to actually think about who those two were. |

@lordzeru Dian Isaac and Miria Harvent: I really don´t know how pwople can't love this couple, they are cleaver, fun, extremely fun... one of the best couple ever to apear in anime. Hei: Aka, black reaper, BK-201, Lee shenshung or CHINEESE ELECTRIC BATMAN!! No seriusly, thought i've never seen a character with so many alias, is really easy to relare him with any ot those, as a Contractor, or an agency... agent, or as an undercover chineese who can eat as much as Naruto and Goku togehter withour getting any fat. Also on my favs. Okabe, Rintarou: Stains: Gate has the slowest pace i've ever seen, and i blame him for that. Spike Spiegel: The most epic character ever. With so meny cool catch phrases that you can´t count themm and he bears the most epic death of al time. Spike, is the de facto main character. What every other male main character should have sey he want to be, Naruto: Not hokage, like Spike. Luffy, noy pirate king, Like Spike... you get the idea. I apologise for the delay, i ended the comment in a few minutes but my connection was lost until now. |

Orihara, Izaya: Never actually found that dude more fascinating than Shizuo. I disagree from fanboys, therefore. Tachibana, Kanade: HAH! Boring. Never been fan of her, or of the anime. Nakamura, Yuri: Interesting girl, but as the series progressed, lost her touch by a lot of degree. |

@NostalgiaCannon Keima: The guy is awesome, master of the PSP. I was really enjoying some of the developments by the end of season 2. It's great when he says "I can see the ending!" If only real life romance was as simple as he makes it seem. Wondering what will happen if he actually finds someone that might remember him though *Foreshadowing lol* Himeko: I thought she was funny from what I watched of PPD. I saw the time where her Ahoge got pulled off. Made me lol quite hard. Just a pity that the series itself couldnt hold my attention. Seto: I'm glad to see someone with a SnH character in their favourites even if she wasn't one of my favourites. Seto was ok, but I felt she didnt have an original character at all and got carried through alot of her scenes by a brilliant supporting cast. Luna especially being great along with her "dad" and Seto's dad throughout the show. |

@Riptos Aisaka, Taiga- what a tsundere. loved how she could be crazy and switch to some shy girl in a matter of seconds. Kaga, Rin- yeah, she doesn't know everything BUT she's so smart for her age! loved the bond that she had with daikichi. Tsukimiya, Ayu- i always thought she looked a lot more mature with her backpack off. not my favorite character in the show, but she was alright. Emiya, Kiritsugu- as ruthless as he was it was nice to see his other side. plus suits are freaking bad ass. Yasuri, Shichika- clumsy and not the smartest character ever, but it was a ton of fun to watch his growth right until the finally. |

@Angel_Beats Makise, Kurisu: ![]() No words can describe my love for her. ♥ Tachibana, Kanade: Her and Otonashi is what made Angel Beats amazing! Eris, Ferris: I never watched Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetu but after reading the details about Ferris Eris I'm really interested and plan on watching the anime now! Holo: She's just <3 Devens, Cal: I also never seen the anime so I looked at her details and she sounds quite interesting! I've been told that the anime was really good so maybe I'll give it a shot. Tohsaka, Rin: Aside from Saber, Rin is my favorite in the Fate series. I loved her ever since I read the LN and when the series were aired I just loved her character! Hachikuji, Mayoi: I honestly did not like her arc- maybe it's because I'm more interested in Senjougahara instead of her. Oikawa, Tsunara: Yuki was my favorite from the anime just because of her hair and her eyes! Uyruu, Minene: I wasn't too interested in her at the beginning of Mirai Nikki, but gradually I became more attatched to her(not as much as Yuno though) she just goes from the antagonist to the protagonist! She's just overall amazing. Ashley, Lucy: Even though I'm not a fan of Fairy Tail- Lucy and Gray were the only characters I had liked in the series. |

@xEuphoric Lamperouge, Lelouch - An interesting and highly intelligent character, just how I like them. He really stood out and made "Code Geass" much more entertaining then anyone else. His way of thinking impressed me, yes, but I can't help but feel having 20,000+ favorites on here makes him very overrated by MAL's standards. Otonashi, Yuzuru - His backstory seriously had me bawling my eyes out, and everytime I thought about it I would cry again. Yeah. Aside from that, he was a pretty fun guy and a nice lead for "Angel Beats!" but still didn't stand out that much for me. (aside from making me cry so much, which I wasn't used to since "Angel Beats!" was my fourth anime) Ibuki, Fuko - I love this girl. She's absolutely precious and it makes my heart drop when people say on here "Nobody liked the Fuko arc" or "Fuko is the most annoying anime character ever." I loved her arc, which had me in tears second & third time around, I loved her starfish, I loved her personality, just asdgklasj <3 A deserving character on your favorites. |

@razor Senjougahara - Totally a bitch of a character but has some redeeming qualities and adds some interactions to the show. I liked her in Bakemonogatari. Onizuka - Love this guy. At first I thought he was a total tool, but I really came to appreciate him. I think he's the kind of teacher everyone would want, or maybe has had (in a way). Asuka - Not so much of a crazy psychopath as Senjougahara but a tsundere not the less. Again, provides for some comic relief with her interactions with Shinji and Rei. Devastated inside and shows her shallow side as a result. |

@Razor Spike- One of the coolest guys around. I love his attitude and it always seems like he doesn't even try. He was simply badass in the last episodes of Bebop. I just didn't like the lack of backstory with him. Yang- One of my favorite characters. He was simply brilliant. This is the kind of guy you would want to talk to for hours and hours. Celty- I didn't care for her that much. I prefer the other characters from the show. I liked the mystery behind her, but after her backstory was revealed she just wasn't as interesting as she used to be. Asuka- I don't like her. I'm 16 episodes in NGE and she is just annoying. She always has to ruin the party and her arrogance is almost unmatched by any character. edit: ninjad. one second I'll get you too. @Verdale Archer- Probably the best servant from the original series. I liked this guy for being a realist when you have the overly ideal Shirou. Decent choice. Okabe- I love this guy. Funny, smart, caring, and can be badass. He gets the job done when he needs to. Gaara- I dislike this guy. Then again I dislike like 95% of the Naruto cast. Ginko- Only 1 episode in, so I can't decide if I like him or not. Seems like a chill guy though. |

Johan Lieber - I don't care for him, but he does make a great villain. Light Yagami - I liked Light at first, but later on in the series his personality changed and I really disliked him by the end. Jin - I don't consider him one of my top 10, but as far as Samurai Champloo characters go he was my favourite. Ling Yao - I liked Ling; he was funny and I think his story was the most interesting. In fact, he may be my favourite character in Fullmetal Alchemist. |

Ozu: A goofy one, with no sense of future-worry or anything related in the initial episodes. Though, yes, his character did turn tables in the later episodes. Having said all that, the anime wasn't meant to be carried out by characters; the execution wasn't influenced by any of them, thus. Iwakura, Lain: A gloomy one, I must say. Wasn't all that interesting but matched the theme of the anime perfectly. Kusuriuri: An exceptionally interesting character, in Mononoke at least. Not influenced by what most humans find provoking, emotions. Makes me wonder if he really was a human. His character in Ayakashi wasn't expressed that well, I must say. Wears some nice makeup. |

@SaberEdge Goku- The first famous shonen protagonist that started it all. This guy could do no wrong. I used to like him when watching the show but I always liked the villains for some reason. Light-Awsome villain. I love how harmless and perfect he seems at first only to become a madman. It was always thrilling to watch him on screen. Saber- Eh. She was alright. I prefered Gilgamesh/Rider as servants. I loved her master (Kiritsugu) more than her. I find that she focuses too much on honor and doesn't realize how silly that idea actually is. Edit: Crap didn't see what you put in earlier, I'll do the "about me". Sorry I missed that. Lelouch- I liked him. Dramatic but smart. He could predict too much at times, which kind of annoyed me though. Lloyd- Not really all that memorable. I guess he was a cool scientist. I didn't care for him. Emiya- I really enjoyed this guy. He was just a badass assassin with a tragic past that puts other characters to shame. When he realized his ideal was a failure, it was just sad to see him a broken man. |

@Telesis Wenli, Yang- I think this guy is highly overrated. He's like someone you often hear off, "pretty smart, but not smart enough." See, he's gifted but he does not utilize his talent enough. He has to be force to do it, and even then he's constantly holding back from using the full extent of his talent. Paul Oberstein is better in my opinion. If he wants to do something, he does it instead of talking all day getting philosophical about it.Yang Wenli is really like those kids/people that other people would say have a lot of potential but aren't using it. Liebert, Johan- Didn't watch enough of Monster to comment on this character. Light from Death Note- I had a really hard time figuring out why anyone would like this guy because I kept trying to see him as a normal guy just doing what he wants. Well after having a conversation with someone I understand better now, which would also make the show more watchable to me. Light is like the villain from horror shows. He's bad, but the cheering for him comes from liking to see what the villain will do. (for example in horror movies chop off somebodies head, etc...) Oskar "Bewitching Eyes" von Reuenthal- This guy is more mature than Yang Wengli but he's more susceptible to simple emotions even if the emotions would negatively affect him. He is masculine, and his pride is his downfall. He's not really unique in anything in my opinion, just an average and simple representation of the average man who are masculine, and have a lot of pride. He's like a more polite talking Vegetable from DBZ. Okarin- Can't say with certainty, but I think he's the most stupid character I've ever seen from anywhere, whether that be books, games, television, movies, etc. It's not hard to have a little foresight which this character completely lacks. I forgave him making a mistake once, but 3 times was beyond my limit. I hate this guy. No idea why anyone would like him. He doesn't belong in the anime Steins Gates. It's like sticking Peter Griffin from Family Guy into a more serious show or movie such as Schindlers List. Jin- Wow first guy I actually agree with you on. Between the two guy choices of him or Mugen I like Jin so much more. Mugen is too reckless for me to like him. I like the more calm characters and I just personally like Jin's outfit/looks more. Mugen seems more careless with the way he would dress, haha. Emiya, Kiritsugu- Didn't see enough but I think this guy was suppose to realize he's a sadist? Ling Yao- Hummmm...yeah....don't have much to say here. He's doesn't have anything that would stand out to me. Overall, all guys as favorite characters eh? Do you swing that way too? haha just kidding. I have all girls on my favorite character list and extend the list to my blogs. But of course, the characters I like most are on my profile list. |

@Mika_Inamori Haruhi: A classic. Personally not my favorite girl from the series, but I totally get why over 10k+ users have her on their favorites list. But honestly I just wanted to slap her for most of the series. Kiririn: Just that series in general was all-around great, and hilarious. Typical tsun personality towards her big brother. Definitely one of the more likable ones though. Yomi: Haven't gotten to it yet, so I've nothing to be said here. Holo: One of the better female leads in a romance, in my opinion. Coupled with Kraft, I really enjoyed both seasons of that pairing. Binchou-tan: Don't know much about it, to be honest, but I'd love to hear a few words from you regarding it. Nanoha: Not really one to watch shows from the MS genre, but Nanoha, along with PMMM, were the two MS series that I enjoyed. A solid choice. Manabi Stright trio: Sorry to disappoint, but my I can't say that my history with SoLs extends far enough to have seen this. That said, I'm going to pick this one up based on the fact that you have Aya Hirano and Yui Horie as two leads. Akarin: My favorite Yuru Yuri as well. Great series, though wasn't exactly what I expected after first reading its title. I assume you're following S2 then? So it appears that you're generally of all things moe, and have a bit of a loli complex going for you. I don't mean this in a negatively connotative way though. |

@artic_comsmos Just checked the definition of lolicon. Nope, I'm not a lolicon. I'm into the moe, not the sex. The girls being young just makes them more moe. Older girls can't be as moe to me because I expected them to be more complex as characters, or in other words just smarter than little girls. |

Okabe and Wenli were both extremely noble characters. Just admit you didn't get them. Hi, I don't like your opinion. I don't have anything to refute your opinion though, but please believe me you are wrong. Even if I actually do have any reasons, I won't tell you. Just believe me! Actually, I've got nothing to say and I'm only just against you. Typical. |

Yomi: She was a great older sister to kagura. The ending made me sad. Haruhi: A great character, her personality would be really hard to go along with IRL though. Akari: For a character whose whole gimmick is being ignored, she sure does have the best design. Holo: A sexy Wolf girl. Nuff' said |

I don't have anything to refute your opinion though, but please believe me you are wrong. Even if I actually do have any reasons, I won't tell you. Just believe me! Actually, I've got nothing to say and I'm only just against you. Typical. Yang Wenli, a dude with immense intelligence and courage to stand up against a force like Reinhard, can't possibly be an overrated character. Hell, I admit I don't like his character as much as I like Reinhard's or Oberstein's but yes, I still would say he is not, by any means, overrated. To counter a force like that of Reinhard's, a character down-to-earth (if the word can be implied in this case) was required and Yang Wenli just fitted perfectly. He was a pretty realistic character and had tremendous insight at political issues and such. He fought for those ideals wherever he could (one can see that numerous times in the show.) The term "lazy" does relate to his personality but that's just a part of his personality; whenever a force was needed, he was there to implement it, along with his team; the "lazy" part of his was shown basically at instances not worthy to him. Yang Wenli is one of those characters you can talk for hours and not get bored even a by a bit. As for Okabe, he isn't stupid at all. Remember, the machine was invented accidentally, therefore mistakes were meant to happen every once in a while. You're being a complete imbecile if you're relating his 3-4 mistakes to call him "the most stupid guy you've encountered." Hell, have you even played the game, the VN, from which the anime is adapted from? If you haven't, let me tell you that the role of Okabe Rintarou, in the VN, is played by the player. So, the choices (which prolonged to those so-called mistakes in future) are supposed to be made by the player in the VN many more times than those seemingly-huge-to-you 3 mistakes, just to be able to learn from them and get a better way out of the mayhem. In the VN, I, personally, while playing the character of Okabe, performed many more mistakes than the Okabe from the anime and learned from them. In the anime, the director only showed three of those paths (those so-called mistakes) by Okabe that he, himself, thought were comparatively more important than the rest. He, the director, ignored most of those paths and only chose 3-4 of them to be able to bring the conclusion of the franchise within limited number of episodes. You're either too stupid to think Okabe made too many mistakes or too conceited that you think you would've been able to pass the mayhem in a single go. You know what, you should've played the VN firstly and then came to me spilling how many mistakes your Okabe (you) did in that. Coming back to the anime adaptation, a far-fetched protagonist like that of Okabe was necessary for an anime like Steins;Gate. He was a great hypocrite, showed that he was evil and stuff while he was just another humanitarian kid inside. He *accidentally* made one of the most brilliant inventions and like most out there, as the inventor, suffered its consequences. He dealt with them quite intelligently, too, maintained his cool, and learned from every mistake he made which, I think, my friend Mika here, forgot to pay attention at as he was just too focused on some certain side-characters' deaths. I know you won't agree with all that I just said, Mika. I just wanted to counter than "typical" title you presented me with. See you. |

Hitagi - A interesting complex character, she is my favorite monogatari Spike - I don't even need to state why I like him. Celty - Ehh she was a bit bland for my taste, not really a character I payed attention to. Holo - Everybody has to like Holo, but I think if the show was a full on romcom. It would have showed her full potential. |

I wasn't fighting, men. I was just countering the tag our friend Mika gave me. Anyhow, NostalgiaCannon, your favorites and mine are quite different, but, whateva: -Sister: You serious? To be extremely broad with my words, I didn't like any characters from the anime, Arakawa. The anime was basically random, stupid laughs here and there. By the end of second season, nothing was concluded and the franchise ended with stupid laughs only with no development. -Sasa, Kazamori: Cute, wasn't it? That's all I would want to say. -Katsuragi, Keima: An interesting nerd, I must say. |

@Jeller L - I liked his eccentricities. It's hard not to. But I like Light better as a character, his plans are just far better imo. Shikamaru - I liked him in the original series, during the Chunin exams mainly. But in Shippuden I feel he's become stale, like most of the characters in that show. Hirano - None of the HOTD characters really clicked with me, but as far as they go he's one of the better ones. Haruhi - Can't stand her. Her character is a major contributing factor as to why I dropped the show. Kotonoha - Unlike most people, I really enjoyed School Days. And while I don't hate the characters, I don't particularly love them either. Anyways, she's probably my second fav character in the show after Setsuna. Planning on watching Angel Beats and Baccano in the near future. But as it stands those are the only 5 ive seen. |
