The show has officially switched from high school love drama to grownups love drama. Kin is the second person with zero dignity in this show. First, it was a mistake to propose to Kotoko when he knew very well she was in love with another man. Second, he didn't look very good when he tried to force himself on her. Dude, if you are going to play this game, you should know very well that it's a slow and long game. You can't rush things.

That ice cube finally got it punched into his brilliant brain that Kotoko isn't a given and she could get stolen from him any time.

I knew it was going to happen but still. Why you do that to my man Kinnosuke? These people saying he shouldn't have proposed when he knew she liked someone else. Well how do you get anywhere then, especially with women? What you think they don't have a list of guys they're considering, whether they actually want to go out with them or not? Come now. Even as a guy. Any new workplace you go to, you look at the girls that work there and think about it. If you don't shoot your shot, you won't get anywhere.

And let's be real. He was exasperated from profusely expressing his love for 5 years only to get rejected by her when she's literally crying over another guy. She is quite literally the same as Kinnosuke. Yet the show portrays him as a hopeless loser (her backup plan if she ends up an old spinster), and she's just a naive girl in love. Of course he wanted to hug her to comfort her and show her that he could be a man too. He's stronger than her, so it was difficult for her to push him away. And when she tried (really she just turned him and knocked a bowl out of his hand), he immediately backed off. Sure in this day and age no guy would ever do this, but don't pretend TikTok isn't filled with bitter women asking why men aren't more assertive anymore. She dearly wishes Irie would do the exact same thing. The only difference is she wants to be with Irie.

He didn't do anything wrong. Kotoko knows he wouldn't actually hurt her. If Rinnosuke was just some random dude or a guy she'd only been on a few dates with, sure, his actions would have been over the line. As a guy all you can do is try to read the room (because girls will rarely give you a direct answer), give girls as much of an obvious out as you can, and back the fuck off if there's any hint of resistance or hesitation. It's not as if he hadn't spent 5 years being her shoulder to cry on already. He went for it, and he failed.

People really have to read the worst intentions into everything, I swear. These same people will want a guy who pins her against a wall to kiss her.

P.S. Are we going to just ignore that sleeping people can't consent? Of course not. Irie's a hot guy girls actually like. He can do literally whatever he wants.
