Well, I haven't seen that series so I really have no idea what you're talking about (Although I do plan on watching it) but I have more of an attachment to his dub. I thought he was very well done there...
Either way, Suzaku is awesome. I get that he's a hypocrite and all, but I don't see why he gets so much hate.

For sure, stand by your Code Geass character! I find a lot of these characters recieve hate (Although I didn't really care for Rolo at points either XD) and I get a lot of jabs for liking Suzaku, but oh well.
for me every time i saw suzuka in code geass i wished he would die or something
But I don't understand WHY. I mean, in R1 he was perfectly likeable, trying his best to change the world for the better and just when he had hope, it was cruelly stolen away from him by Zero. His hope, his love and then he finds out it was his best friend, someone he wholly had trusted before? Not to mention using his Geass on him, that would push anyone to the brink.
So he changes his morales a bit in R2 and decides to be a bit nastier in his play and yes, while it is hypocritical (As if Lelouch was never a hypocrite and cold-blooded killer :/) he was pushed to this. And his Geass activating at the worst possible time, leading to something that was the final push... I don't understand why people hate him so much, because there really was so much reasoning for basically everything he did.
To each their own, I suppose, but I don't think he deserves the widespread hatred he gets.
agreed with ya there Rolo is a yandere of epic proportions plus he killed a annoying filler character he is great =D
Idk, I felt Rolo was the filler character here. He was just there to me, and his death seemed to have absolutely no impact on the story. I mean hell, after episode 19, everything regarding Rolo seemed to be forgotten. Shirley on the other hand helped move Lelouch in the direction the plot was urging him to move. The relations she had with Mao gave Lelouch not only a better understanding of his own Geass, but of what the world entailed beyond what could be seen. I recall towards the end where Lelouch was shouting at his father over the horrible deeds he committed, that he brought up Shirley as someone he regretted losing. I don't remember Rolo being brought up.

Well, I guess Shirley was indeed more important in the story than Rolo. But I can't say that both of them were filler characters... :s They loved Lelouch a lot, but what makes me love Rolo much more is how he showed his love. I mean, Shirley and Lelouch had a high school friendship/romance, okay. Rolo and Lelouch had a brother relationship, but it was more complex, mainly because of the situation around them. Lelouch was first Rolo's enemy, Lelouch just uses Rolo through the whole history, but still, in the end, Rolo gives his life to him - just after Lelouch yelled at him! Shirley kinda gave her life to Lelouch too? Hmm, okay, you can think that, but... the feeling of the love/protect/dedication is way more visible in Rolo's character development than Shirley's. But I think that Rolo shouldn't have killed Shirley, and I'm sure that if he had the chance, he would have killed Nunnaly as well. -_- But his sacrifice was really touching. It was one of the things that made him think about his last plan, etc etc. :D Only my point of view, of course.
If i had to pick a favourite male anime character i'd pick Kaworu Nagisa, of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
All those years ago he was like the anti-Shinji. Being calm, relaxed, and confident, he was a remarkable contrast to the troubled lead, it was a shame he was only in the TV series for about 10 minutes really.
Other favourites include Largo ( Bubblegum Crisis ) Leon McNichol ( Bubblegum crisis ) Dante ( Devil May Cry ) Gene Starwind ( Outlaw Star ) Meier Link (Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust ) and Roger Smith ( Big O )
Inuyasha, because he has a rough exterior, but has a deep inside to him that he doesn't let show. I'm kinda sorta that way. I don't smile. I get mad at a lot of things, but on the inside I'm sort of a teddy bear wanting to come out.
Light Yagami, because I, too, want to destroy evil people with nothing but the stroke of a pen. I feel like it's an obligation to me to correct people when they're wrong.

Keep in mind that I never really cared for Shirley or Rolo's characters, but I do understand that they were both completely essential in moving the plot forward.
I find Shirley just as dedicated to Lelouch as Rolo was. Both of them risked their lives for Lelouch, both of them were willing to kill for him (Rolo have been more obvious about this, but Shirley brought the gun with her with the full intention of using it, not to mention her taking a shot at Mao and shooting Villetta to protect Lelouch's identity as Zero) and both of them had full reason to hate Lelouch, but just could not bring themselves to do so.
I mean, Lelouch killed Shirley's father and she still decides to side with him, despite the fact that she knows her father did nothing wrong. It almost seems like Shirley is a female, less violent version of Rolo to me. Shirley would have definitely stuck by Lelouch's side had Rolo not ended her life. I mean, she made that choice three times and each time she either had her memory erased or she was killed. She just didn't have the intelligence of Lelouch or the strength of Suzaku and therefore, she just could not survive in their world.
I think Shirley was also at an enormous disadvantage in the case of Rolo anyways. She thought she knew him as the kind brotherly figure that he is around Lelouch instead of the psycho he really was, as well as not having a Geass.
Rolo was, of course, a good character and all and I have nothing against him even though he was not my personal favorite. I just think that Shirley was just as equally important to the development of Lelouch and the plot as a whole. After all, Shirley was just as much of a driving force in development in Lelouch as she was with Suzaku... Okay, maybe not as much, but she definitely had influence.
Either way, I found both their deaths just trying to be as tragic as our dear Euphemia's and to be honest, failing completely. Both of them had that extremely tragic feel where they were all, in a way, doing what they did for Lelouch. The thing that made Euphie's so bad was that she had no choice in the matter. Yeah, it just seemed like they were trying to outdo Euphemia's death, and it didn't have as much of an effect on me because of that.
Ginko (Mushishi)
L Lawliet (Death Note)
Casshern (from Casshern Sins; I haven't watched the other takes on Casshern, but all of them seem pretty different from each other)
Well for action or sci fi i would say cowboybebops spike. And for romance or drama i think its a lil hrder to tell who my favorite is, but i thought the male lead of Kanon was realy funny and a nice guy.Or araragi from bakemonogatari.
Probably already answered this, but I love love love LOVE LOOOOOVE Rolo from Code Geass. Everything about him is awesome and he could do no wrong in my eyes.
Then my second favorite male character would probably be Elliot Nightray followed by Vince and Gil Nightray from Pandora Hearts. Oh and then Kurosaki from Dengeki Daisy and maybe Shou and Kanba from Mawaru Penguindrum.....I don't know I have too many, but my top favorite overall is Rolo and that probably won't change for a long time or who knows maybe never. xD
