| Soooooo sad~ This show just plain flew beyond my expectations. But is it true they may not air the last two episodes? I know the earthquake caused delays in airing schedule of episode 11 but there were some rumors it may not air at all. Another rumor, though was that it would air on the 31st of March. I hope the latter is true. I don't know how I would deal without the thrilling conclusion!! PS: Kyubey is evil as FUCK D: |

Take note of them, but rumors are rumors and nothing should be taken seriously unless there is official word. I mean, how would we know if they will air the last two episodes? |

| I want to call Kyubey an evil bastard...but how can I, when he-- his race (whatever it is) just doesn't grasp the concept of empathy? Sacrificing Kyouko so he can harvest Madoka's future Grief Seed is just too much though. And I didn't even like her :P Great show. |

| Quick question: while the OST isn't out yet, there's fanmade versions of several themes on youtube. I found several for Oktavia's theme (the one during the final battle), but none of I was looking for: the much more intense version that plays during the pre-OP. If anyone found anything like that, send me the link please :) |

| Poor Homura, for all her efforts, Ktubei is going to get his way. Presumably, the opening scene in episode 1 was this Walpugis Night thing, and Homura was trying to fight it on her own and losing. Also, love the self destruct mechanism that Kyoko triggered as a way to defeat Witch-Sayaka, and I guess Kyubei gets all the disentropic energy from both their souls. Yup. I now think of Kyubei in the same terms as Father from FMA. Us humans are no more to him than yeast enzymes are to us. |

| My mind just exploded... Kyoko was just starting to be awesome and she dies. Same with Mami. QB is a welp to me, but you gotta think a bit logical, For him and his species, no emotions so they don't really care what happens to us, but what they think what they're doing is the good for the universe. But for us, it's like monsters! It's what each thinks. For QB he thinks he's being humanitarian or something like that, and while others think that he's just being cold and evil. Of course I'm not going for his side. I think it's awful, but that's what I sum it up. |
| Why did Kyoko pulled a last minute Goku? If she was injured it was common sense (which all this girls lack) for Homura to take over the fight or at least try to team up. Things are going awesome for QB and if this doesn't blow on his face he might just become my second favorite it (as non he/she) in anime. Judging by Madoka's behavior so far and the way Homura said "the never believed me", she still will make the contract. Its going to be fun to see how QB pushes her buttons to make this happen ^^ |

| I am no physicist, but I am scientifically literate and enjoy reading about physics. I had a whole class in basic college Chemistry about entropy and the teacher repeated many, many, many times to make sure we understood: Entropy is an increase in the disorder of a system. Basically if you take say, a bunch of neatly packed marbles and scatter them on the floor, what you did is basically increased the entropy of the system (marbles). If you take ice and melt it, you increased the entropy (the tightly-packed molecules became freer). Everything in the universe tends to disorder. If you take gas from container A and connect it to container B, and open the flow valve, the gas will spontaneously (without you having to spend energy) divide itself equally between the containers. If you leave it there, it will not go back to being only in container A, because it would be a more ordered state of the system. To do that, you would have to use pistons or something to push the gas back to container A, which would require you to spend energy. Order costs energy. I could go on and on with examples about this. All this means that the universe is getting each second more disordered (in average objects are separating from each other more and more). Kyubey's example of the bonfire to explain entropy is not entirely correct though. He says the energy from burning the wood is not equal to the energy used by the tree to grow/create the wood and thus energy is lost. That is true only if you consider useful energy. The tree used more energy to make the wood than you gain from burning it because part of the energy got dissipated in the form of heat or other things (the energy was concentrated in the form of molecular bonds, but when those bonds break, that energy is released as heat, thus it became less ordered). If you add this dissipated energy up with the energy from burning the wood, their sum will be exactly equal to the energy used by the tree to grow. So, by strict definition, no energy is lost per se, it just happens that some of it is not useful. Also, the universe is not losing energy, quite to the contrary (the trillions of stars converting matter to energy each second are the reason for this), but the universe is getting bigger at a faster rate than the generated energy can spread through it. So, the total amount of energy does increase, but the energy density of the universe is decreasing, making it get colder. Hope this clarifies something for someone :) |
| ^ True, Kyubey's explanation of entropy isn't entirely accurate, although given that Madoka is 14 years old and probably hasn't learned much about entropy, Kyubey may have given her a more simplified explanation for her to understand, atleast that's the way I see it. |

I absolutely get his point...but what's the point of an infinite immortal universe full of sacrifice...just so that it continues to exist, so that life continues to exist...that's not living...that's sickly existing... Magical girls exist solely to die, they fight for nothing, turning into murdering witches for the sake of the universe. This also reminds me the equivalent exchange from FMA...but, Madoka Magica illustrates it terrifically... Any thing is as it looked like...That simply great!! In our current universe, entropy is increasing, therefore the size of our universe is increasing (though various theories like vacuum energy). But in mahou shoujo, entropy is decreasing, which means their universe is getting smaller and smaller, plus if energy reaches 0, everything will stop as there will be no energy to do anything like making a fire or walking etc etc. another interesting tidbit is how entropy affects time. In our universe, the direction of time is moving forward since entropy is increasing. But in mahou shoujo, entropy is decreasing so the direction of time is moving the opposite direction. I wonder how it affects Homura's time travelling. but this prolly doesn't apply to the anime though. xD It is kind of odd with how QB eats grief seeds to store energy or whatever, but it does make sense that whenever a mahou shoujo cleans her soul gem with a grief seed, she's adding the grief seed's energy to her own soul gem. And then in the end, QB harvests the grief seed of the mahou shoujo, which effectively takes all the energy made. I might be off with some of these things, but I cant wait for the next two Thursdays to come! What a chapter starting with Sayaka's dead soulless carcass... Poor Madoka i'm pretty sure she can't get more of this shit anymore... she's at breaking point... she's about to explode and so then she will likely sign the contract with the damn Amoral Emotionless Outer Space Being.... Oh another element added to make my Homura is from the Past Theory stronger... She can't stop time on her behalf and move in and out any moment she wants. Considering what above said then maybe it's possible but still doesn't make sense. In a logical way of course. But does make sense in the Anime way. Somehow. Anyway Madoka/Kyuubei aka Incubator conversation was full of awesomeness. Maybe revealing himself as an Outer Space being aka Alien cleared out this dark cloak of mystery he was shrouded in but certainly makes more sense since finally his origin was somehow explained and we finally know why he's doing all of this mess. Tho I still don't know how is this going to help him out in his main goal (Turning Madoka into a MS later in a Witch, probably another Walpurgis) looks like he has finally played all his cards and has nothing else to spare and hide... The Truth is that he's still suspicious but like someone already said, you can't lie if you're amoral. You need to be aware of the bad or good way to actually lie. Although Kyoko's Outer Layer was so full of herself aka selfishness, in the insides she's a caring girl that wants to solve everyone's problems and wants to help out just as Sayaka wanted. Chivalry and later friendship. Empathy (What Kyuubei lacks by the way). Kyoko in the end fulfilled Sayaka's wish. Do Good for ever... Looks like she suicided, selfdestructed, since her Gen was getting dimmer thus she avoided the big trouble of turning a Witch herself and Kill another one before everything turning into a bigger mess. Definitely loved the whole thing since Kyoko and Madoka entered Sayaka's Witch Labyrinth. Full of cool things. And once again a few Faust references. Nice artwork and deep fuse of souls... I can't deny that I felt some Yuri vibes here and there... Especially when Sayaka's Blue and Kyoko's Red shadow figures mix together. It's like they're saying "We're off to the next place TOGETHER. Good bye!" Iisan- said: Oh oh I know one that's especially explored in the anime... Remember Card Captor Sakura... although it was a one sided love, Tomoyo + Sakura had enormous yuri undertones. | I don't know why everyone is considering Kyubey evil. Seems like a reasonable fellow. He'll grant any wish you want in return for your life and you'll be helping out the whole universe with your sacrifice. People like Mami were going to die anyway, why not make there death helpful for the rest of the universe. |

| It's kind of obvious that the walpurgis is going to be Madoka. The reason being that Hitomi keeps on trying to get Madoka to not make a wish with Kyuubey. This also reminds me of another anime called Bokurano. I'm not going to spoil anything, so it's just a suggestion to watch. |

| While, I find the reason that magic girls exist a bit of a stretch, it is at least believable. I can’t get myself mad at Kyuubei because everything he does is logical though his character does show the flaws of utilitarian reasoning. My big question is whether witches can be produced by other means then magic girls. There appear to be too few magic girls to justify the large number of witches, but if most of those witches are fragments from other witches then it would seem possible for the aliens to farm witches without the need of magic girls or without requiring the magic girls to become witches. rebwaters said: Did Kyoko really need to die? What Kyoto did looked like suicide. I don’t think it was because she was afraid of turning to a witch; she would have won a grief seed from the battle so she should have been okay. It looked like she lost the will to live. Though her shell of selfishness was unhealthy, it was what allowed her to continue on living. She was tired of living as a magic girl and took an opportunity to end it all without it looking like suicide because that is a big Christian no no. She couldn’t kill the witch alone unless she did what she did and destroyed her soul gem to cause a giant explosion. Ironically, she ended up just like Sayaka and couldn’t handle how the world is. |

| Well, in a very strange, sadistic, nihilistic, misanthropic and of course fucked up way, Kyubey and his fellow race are pretty much the good guys here while the Magical Girls are too egoistic to not die for the universe's sake. I'd like to do a meme with that "X all the Y" dude, where X stands for "fuck up" and Y stands for "EVERYTHING". But I'm too lazy. |
