Even though I do agree that QB being an alien is one of weaker parts of the anime, the entropy reason does make sense as the concept of time was introduced when it was revealed when Homura is a time traveller, and entropy is based on space, time, and energy(heat).
for clarification, entropy is basically can be thought as energy of the universe.(ratio of heat and temp). In our current universe, entropy is increasing, therefore the size of our universe is increasing (though various theories like vacuum energy). But in mahou shoujo, entropy is decreasing, which means their universe is getting smaller and smaller, plus if energy reaches 0, everything will stop as there will be no energy to do anything like making a fire or walking etc etc.
another interesting tidbit is how entropy affects time. In our universe, the direction of time is moving forward since entropy is increasing. But in mahou shoujo, entropy is decreasing so the direction of time is moving the opposite direction. I wonder how it affects Homura's time travelling. but this prolly doesn't apply to the anime though. xD
It is kind of odd with how QB eats grief seeds to store energy or whatever, but it does make sense that whenever a mahou shoujo cleans her soul gem with a grief seed, she's adding the grief seed's energy to her own soul gem. And then in the end, QB harvests the grief seed of the mahou shoujo, which effectively takes all the energy made.
I might be off with some of these things, but I cant wait for the next two Thursdays to come! Oh interesting bit... So if entropy is decreasing (in Kyuubei's Universe aka Madoka's Universe) then maybe my Homura is someone from the past is getting stronger but I do love the whole explanation and implications of Kyuubei introducing us this Entropy Unbalance Chaos situation....
What a chapter starting with Sayaka's dead soulless carcass... Poor Madoka i'm pretty sure she can't get more of this shit anymore... she's at breaking point... she's about to explode and so then she will likely sign the contract with the damn Amoral Emotionless Outer Space Being.... Oh another element added to make my Homura is from the Past Theory stronger... She can't stop time on her behalf and move in and out any moment she wants. Considering what above said then maybe it's possible but still doesn't make sense. In a logical way of course. But does make sense in the Anime way. Somehow.
Anyway Madoka/Kyuubei aka Incubator conversation was full of awesomeness. Maybe revealing himself as an Outer Space being aka Alien cleared out this dark cloak of mystery he was shrouded in but certainly makes more sense since finally his origin was somehow explained and we finally know why he's doing all of this mess. Tho I still don't know how is this going to help him out in his main goal (Turning Madoka into a MS later in a Witch, probably another Walpurgis) looks like he has finally played all his cards and has nothing else to spare and hide...
The Truth is that he's still suspicious but like someone already said, you can't lie if you're amoral. You need to be aware of the bad or good way to actually lie. He's just a mechanical logical bastard. That's what he is and that won't change at all.
So his race/culture need the energy released by MS and Witches? Nice... Well know that he explained it all makes sense why he chooses teenage girls. Can't deny that fact... Such girls are indeed full of emotions and mood changes. Looks like emotions are the best external fuel for the Universe huh? Nice.
Oh by the way. Remember. It's said that people killed by Witches tun into a Witch themselves and well... that way the amounts of "negative" energies never decrease unless fought and controlled by MS... Aka a vicious circle...
Did Kyoko really need to die? Yes she needed to die... Somehow expected and it's just a step further to turn Madoka into a MS and then complete manipulative Kyuubei's main goal. I disliked her a bit when introduced, understood her later and felt bad when I saw she sacrificed for the sake of Sayaka... and also hers. It's funny how the biggest enemies turned into close friends so fast. And discovered they had similar opinions.
Although Kyoko's Outer Layer was so full of herself aka selfishness, in the insides she's a caring girl that wants to solve everyone's problems and wants to help out just as Sayaka wanted. Chivalry and later friendship. Empathy (What Kyuubei lacks by the way). Kyoko in the end fulfilled Sayaka's wish. Do Good for ever... Looks like she suicided, selfdestructed, since her Gen was getting dimmer thus she avoided the big trouble of turning a Witch herself and Kill another one before everything turning into a bigger mess.
Definitely loved the whole thing since Kyoko and Madoka entered Sayaka's Witch Labyrinth. Full of cool things. And once again a few Faust references. Nice artwork and deep fuse of souls... I can't deny that I felt some Yuri vibes here and there... Especially when Sayaka's Blue and Kyoko's Red shadow figures mix together. It's like they're saying "We're off to the next place TOGETHER. Good bye!"

Regardless if it's in one or two, that doesn't stop from "close friendship" abuse as being a deep-rooted Mahou Shoujo cliche, so this still fits. I'm still interested to know where there is canon yuri in other actual Mahou Shoujo, though. Oh oh I know one that's especially explored in the anime... Remember Card Captor Sakura... although it was a one sided love, Tomoyo + Sakura had enormous yuri undertones. But you know Sakura naiveness pretty much neglected all the feelings that turned out the way we already know.
On a funny sidenote: Wouldn't it be awesome that guys turn into MSnen and save MSjo from all the despair and shit... Aka a boy, say Kamijo Kyosuke, turning into a magical Boy and miraculously saving Sayaka from oblivion? XD
