No, the only editing I did was adjusting the volume (mostly songs that were 3db too loud) and fading out songs that ended too abruptly.

I also got a few mono songs, which I duplicated into stereo tracks, not that it would likely do anything, but whatever. Your song might have been one of them, I don't remember.

Oh, ok. It doesn't bother me that much, but it's a bit weird that the version I already had is 7:34 minutes, and the song on the tape is just 6:40 minutes.

But anyway, the mixtape was pretty good.

Still have two songs left to listen to, but agreeing with Sonzai. This mixtape is great. A lot better than the first one. I'm having a hard time thinking of what to rate for half of the songs.

Do the bird noises continue until the end? I think a minute of that would have messed with the flow of the mix.

Well I'd say this tape is better than the first. The first one was pretty good and had some decent stuff, but some of it was rather boring. This one on the other hand has a nice flow to it and a decent variety. Good job people.

1. 65daysofstatic - Massive Star at the End of Its Burning Cycle: 8/10 - Pretty good song, but they have better.
2. Maybeshewill - I'm in Awe, Amadeus!: 6/10 - Somewhat disappointing, I love some of the songs on their EP but this didn't really stand out as much =|.
3. Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges - Clube da Esquina, No. 2: - 6/10 - I don't really remember it to be honest =|. Might listen again and see if score changes
4. Pineapple Thief - Tightly Wound: 9/10 - Sounds awesome, will look into these guys.
5. Toe - Goodbye: 7/10 - Pretty good stuff, interesting for sure, like the atmosphere it creates.
6. Hum - Ms. Lazarus: 5/10 - Not too good...
7. Filthy Thieving Bastards - When the Wallflowers Wilt: 3/10 - This seemed a boring and slightly annoying to be honest.
8. Lana Lane - Carnivale (Let It Rain): 6/10 - I like her voice, but suffers from being too long.
9. Thievery Corporation - Hare Krsha: 5/10 - Nothing special.
10. Saul Williams - Black Stacey: 7/10 - I'm not a rap fan, but this was a pretty good example that it's not all crap.
11. Hocus Pocus - Vocab! ft. T Love and the Procussions: 4/10 - Nowhere near as good as previous track. Overuse of swearing too, it annoys me =|.
12. Ulver - Dressed in Black: 8/10 - Pretty interesting, known about for a while. Might be worth finally looking into them.
13. Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Red Dawn Rising: 4/10 - Not spectacular, they have other songs I've heard which are better.
14. Knorkator - Wir Werden Alle Sterben: 8/10 - Interesting. I like.
15. Naifu - Take the Wave: 4/10 - Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave STFU. Annoying.
16. Maximum the Hormone - Akagi: 6/10 - Not bad, some of the vocals near the end were interesting.
17. Dir en grey - Vinushka: 6/10 - Could be too good but doesn't really focus enough on what it wants to be.
18. Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts: 5/10 - Er.. I'm not sure.
19. Agalloch - Sowilo Rune: 10/10 - Basically perfect. ♥ Agalloch.
20. Nahemah - Change: 9/10 - I submitted it, so it'd be strange if I didn't like it. Still love the ending.
21. Evil Empire - Keep It To Yourself: 7/10 - Reminds me of Crotchduster, but not as good.
22. Black Mountain - Tyrants: 8/10 - Nice.
23. Murder By Death - Those Who Left: 9/10 - Even more nice. Will check out.
24. Alabaster - The Barrel Maze: 7/10 - Somewhat strange, but not bad.
25. Blue Stahli - OVERklock: 6/10 - Hmm, not sure what to say about this...

That's ok. The only thing that suffered from the editing were the vocals, the rest is just fine. A little bit faster though.

Songs I deleted from my hard drive: #5, #8, #13, #14, #20, #21
Songs I loved most of all: #10, #17, #18, #22

Ah yes, that must have been the song I was thinking of.. It is similar, although I'm almost certain there was another song maybe by a different artist that had the exact same intro. Something from the 80s, I think.

edit: I can already tell this is going to be a fruitless search. It probably is just Message in a Bottle, but if anyone can identify the other song I'm thinking of, if it exists, please do tell!

No, the part after the music stops is only about 20 seconds, but I guess that would mess the flow too.

When I told Desert_Punk about the MAL Mixtape, I wished he would have submitted something less known. An anime OP wouldn't have been my first choice. Also, the intro sounds like it came from the 80's as well. To me it sounds like Message in a Bottle, but with a faster tempo. Anyway, my ratings.

1. 65daysofstatic - Massive Star at the End of Its Burning Cycle: 7/10
2. Maybeshewill - I'm in Awe, Amadeus!: 7/10
3. Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges - Clube da Esquina, No. 2: 7/10
4. Pineapple Thief - Tightly Wound: 9/10
5. Toe - Goodbye: 9/10
6. Hum - Ms. Lazarus: 8/10
7. Filthy Thieving Bastards - When the Wallflowers Wilt: 5/10
8. Lana Lane - Carnivale (Let It Rain): 6/10
9. Thievery Corporation - Hare Krsha: 9/10
10. Saul Williams - Black Stacey: 7/10 (Surprisingly good Eazy)
11. Hocus Pocus - Vocab! ft. T Love and the Procussions: 6/10
12. Ulver - Dressed in Black: 10/10 (Any electronica I try to submit now will fail compared to this song)
13. Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Red Dawn Rising: 4/10
14. Knorkator - Wir Werden Alle Sterben: 7/10
15. Naifu - Take the Wave: 4/10
16. Maximum the Hormone - Akagi: 5/10
17. Dir en grey - Vinushka: 7/10
18. Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts: 5/10
19. Agalloch - Sowilo Rune: 9/10
20. Nahemah - Change: 9/10
21. Evil Empire - Keep It To Yourself: 4/10
22. Black Mountain - Tyrants: 8/10
23. Murder By Death - Those Who Left: 8/10 (screaming at the end prevented 9 score)
24. Alabaster - The Barrel Maze: 6/10
25. Blue Stahli - OVERklock: 5/10

Final Note: Neverender also left a link to a Coalter of the Deepers song, which was going to be his original submission. It was actually slighlty better than the Maybeshewill song. 8/10

1. 65daysofstatic - Massive Star at the End of Its Burning Cycle: 10/10
lol bias.

2. Maybeshewill - I'm in Awe, Amadeus!: 9/10
Known it. Good & too short.

3. Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges - Clube da Esquina, No. 2: -/10

4. Pineapple Thief - Tightly Wound: 7/10
Very 'Wilson/PT' alike. Will check out.

5. Toe - Goodbye: 7/10
6. Hum - Ms. Lazarus: 7/10
7. Filthy Thieving Bastards - When the Wallflowers Wilt: 5/10
8. Lana Lane - Carnivale (Let It Rain): 5/10
9. Thievery Corporation - Hare Krsha: 6/10

10. Saul Williams - Black Stacey: 9/10
This was funny, good nevertheless.

11. Hocus Pocus - Vocab! ft. T Love and the Procussions: 8/10
V. Good. I wanted to check out this Pocus for a long time.

12. Ulver - Dressed in Black: 10/10
Well, what. Ulver. Everything is seriously good by those guys from folk, through black metal to ambient/electronic.

13. Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Red Dawn Rising: 5/10
meh, generic mdm, can't say I disliked it, but didn't blow me away. I've heard too much of alike. I used to be mdm fanboy.

14. Knorkator - Wir Werden Alle Sterben: -/10
...

15. Naifu - Take the Wave: -/10

16. Maximum the Hormone - Akagi: -/10
MTH, yea ... well, I've moved on.

17. Dir en grey - Vinushka: 4/10

18. Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts: 6/10
Liked it, lol I dunno.

19. Agalloch - Sowilo Rune: 10/10
F- yes, Agalloch.

20. Nahemah - Change: 8/10 - want more
21. Evil Empire - Keep It To Yourself: 8/10 - s-t-r-a-n-g-e
22. Black Mountain - Tyrants: 7/10 - want more.

23. Murder By Death - Those Who Left: -/10
Gave them a shot few months back. Somehow I'm not very fond of them.

24. Alabaster - The Barrel Maze: 5/10
Somehow, seeing as it was from ZoiQ it wasn't surprising to hear rave music. Avatar influences or something.

25. Blue Stahli - OVERklock: 5/10
kinda similar to something, TOO similar, but can't remember to what right now. Maybe 'The Chase Of Highway' from FF:AC.

Summing up. Good tape, I would have changed the order of tracks maybe. Anyway well spent 2 hours.

I love CdE 2 to bits, but now I'm thinking it doesn't sound quite right outside the context of an album, you know? Maybe should have gone with Cravo É Canela, instead:

Wow, if youtube is any indication, the song certainly has been covered often. Must be quite popular in Brazil. Any Brazilians here who can clarify?

1. 65daysofstatic - Massive Star at the End of Its Burning Cycle: 9/10
Me liked this. Experimental post rock. Yum.

2. Maybeshewill - I'm in Awe, Amadeus!: 9/10
Same here. Just fetched a batch torrent.

3. Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges - Clube da Esquina, No. 2: 8/10
Unusual but interesting. I'll have to take a look at that album.

4. Pineapple Thief - Tightly Wound: 7/10
Quite solid, might have to take a closer look at this thief.

5. Toe - Goodbye: 6/10
Chill and relaxing without being monotonous and boring, but didn't quite strike me.

6. Hum - Ms. Lazarus: 6/10
Much the same as the above, it's payload didn't quite hit my ear's ventilation shaft.

7. Filthy Thieving Bastards - When the Wallflowers Wilt: 5/10
Eh, a tad too jolly and countryesque for my part.

8. Lana Lane - Carnivale (Let It Rain): 6/10
Alright, but not quite a cigar.

9. Thievery Corporation - Hare Krsha: 6/10
The middle ground of the three thieves.

10. Saul Williams - Black Stacey: 4/10
My bias against rap shines through once more.

11. Hocus Pocus - Vocab! ft. T Love and the Procussions: 3/10
As far as rap goes, I liked the previous track better.

13. Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Red Dawn Rising: 7/10
Very standard example of Melodic Death, but not bad at all.

14. Knorkator - Wir Werden Alle Sterben: 4/10
Eh, Industrial...

15. Naifu - Take the Wave: 5/10
Catchy and standard J-rock fare.

16. Maximum the Hormone - Akagi: 5/10
Punky J rock. Not my favourite, but somewhat entertaining nevertheless.

17. Dir en grey - Vinushka: 6/10
A bit heavier than MtH, so one point extra for that.

18. Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts: 7/10
Well this was unusual. Fun with those Irish inspirations.

19. Agalloch - Sowilo Rune: 8/10
One nice instrumental this one. Think I've got a folder somewhere...

20. Nahemah - Change: 8/10
Good one. Torrent away.

21. Evil Empire - Keep It To Yourself: 5/10
I liked the start, the middle part was alright, but then there was rap :/

22. Black Mountain - Tyrants: 8/10
Goodi. PK, hvis du lese detta, eg ska ha den mappå når eg komme him.

23. Murder By Death - Those Who Left: 8/10
Another one for my torrent client.

24. Alabaster - The Barrel Maze: 5/10
Didn't really hit me like an arbalest bolt. Not really my genre of choice.

25. Blue Stahli - OVERklock: 6/10
Again, not usually my kind of electronic, but it made me think of GitS:SAC for some reason.

1. forlacik - 65daysofstatic - Massive Star at the End of Its Burning Cycle: 6/10
pretty standard post-rock fare.

2. Neverender - Maybeshewill - I'm in Awe, Amadeus!: 8/10
oh yes. I love these guys. This song, and indeed their whole debut album is definitely worth acquiring. Title track is incredible.

3. wizwinkleman - Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges - Clube da Esquina, No. 2: 7/10
Seems you were wrong about me not going to like your pick for this tape! This was really solid stuff.

4. BlueYoshi - Pineapple Thief - Tightly Wound: 6/10
I've heard a lot about these guys and I've been close to acquiring their stuff many a time, but I never got around to it. This was very enjoyable though, so I may do it one day. That ending section was really awesome, I hope there's more where that came from.

5. Sonzai - Toe - Goodbye: 5/10
Quite OK, but a tad nondescript.

6. Kimura - Hum - Ms. Lazarus: 6/10
Not incredible, but enjoyable.

7. bmxgamer - Filthy Thieving Bastards - When the Wallflowers Wilt: 5/10
Catchy but sadly shallow.

8. FireReaverX - Lana Lane - Carnivale (Let It Rain): 7/10
Very nice.

9. EmperorJ - Thievery Corporation - Hare Krsha: 5/10
Fun, but nothing special.

10. itainteazy - Saul Williams - Black Stacey: 3/10
No.

11. Karura - Hocus Pocus - Vocab! ft. T Love and the Procussions: 3/10
Sorry. Horrible.

12. Baman - Ulver - Dressed in Black: 6/10
Quite OK.

13. DarkFlash - Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Red dawn Rising: 6/10
Good song.

14. Mathes - Knorkator - Wir Werden Alle Sterben: 6/10
Now this was different. Nice lyrics too haha.

15. Desert_Punk - Naifu - Take the Wave: 5/10
A little fun.

16. the_seventh_l - Maximum the Hormone - Akagi: 4/10
Wah.

17. jkun - Dir en Grey - Vinushka: 8/10
OK, this was awesome. My friend has been listening to this band a whole lot, but I've never tried it myself. Definitely will now though.

18. GomuBlade - Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts: 6/10
More fun than I'd expect it to be.

19. Gnome - Agalloch - Sowilo Rune: 7/10
Very nice.

20. Seasonreaper - Nahemah - Change: 7/10
Oh yes, I know these lads. Very enjoyable sound.

21. Kaiserpingvin - Evil Empire - Keep It To Yourself: 6/10
The positive points are for the first two and a half minutes. They were awesome.

23. wtfyourface - Murder By Death - Those Who Left: 6/10
This was very good, but I felt that it started dragging a bit too much..

24. ZoiQ - Alabaster - The Barrel Maze: 6/10
Not bad.

25. Kokonoe - Blue Stahli - OVERklock: 5/10
OK, but very nondescript.

Definately better than the first one by FAR, this raised my hope for the themed mixtapes. For the most part, good picks people!

Nah, although I'm mainly a metal fan I'm still looking around for decent rap/hip-hop and the like, maybe with these tapes I can find something really good. Astronautalis from the first tape is an example of this happening, that song was awesome and I'm tempted to find more.

Another really good one. I fancied the first half a lot more than the second, though.

My favourites would be;
Hocus Pocus ft Love the Procussions - Vocab! - Oh yes, great shit. French sits well with hip hop.
Lana Lane - Carnivale (Let It Rain) - Dramatic, I like dramatic.
Maybeshewill - I'm in Awe, Amadeus! - Cheating, really, Maybeshewill is one of my favourite bands after all. Not really one of their best songs, but still magnificent.
Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges - Clube da Esquina, No. 2 - Mm, relaxing, and be-a-uuu-tiful.

Also, haha, I knew my track would be ill liked. Well, at least some people got some enjoyment, and hopefully it added something to the eclectity value of the tape.

Gah! How could I forget? I actually have heard some Brazilian albums previously. The first three from a sweet band by the name of Os Mutantes. Some of you may be familiar with that McDonalds ad over the summer featuring "A Minha Menina" (which just happens to be my favorite song of theirs)..

Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I first saw that on tv.
