Anyone have ideas for non-Japanese cartoon characters for the katakana?

If no one has interest in this, then I just won't do it. ;p Thought it might be an interesting project for the community, though.

As suggested in the hiragana counterpart, I'll give one right off the bat:

ウ(u) - ウルフウッド(Wolfwood)

Oh wait, what do you define as a "non-Japanese cartoon character"? Character in an anime or American entertainment media? The character itself is japanese or English? The character's name should be originally written in Japanese or English?

I'm pretty sure she meant characters like Donald Duck, Bugs Bunny, etc. Aside from that, you don't want to get into using the same cartoon character for two different kana characters. That would be like using the same story for two different characters learned in RTK. It's to be avoided completely.

Anyways, here's what I have so far:

カ - Carmen San Diego
サ - Samurai Jack
ハ - (the) Hobbit (could instead be used for ホ depending on your pronunciation)
エ - Elmer Fudd
チ - (the three) Chipmunks
ワ - Wakko (from the Animaniacs)
フ - Freakazoid
ミ - Mini-mouse (Mickey mouse's .. uh, friend?)
ヤ - Yakko (also from the Animaniacs)
ル - Lucy (from the Peanuts)
ス - Superman
シ - Snarf (from Thunder Cats. The way that Snarf says his name is kind of like "Shnarf")
ヲ - Wolverine (from the X-Men)
モ - Mojo Jojo (from the Powerpuff Girls)
ウ - Woody Woodpecker
ム - Mulan (Disney movie)
ア - Aladdin (Also a Disney movie)
ク - Chris (from Family Guy. Peter's son)
キ - Kim Possible (Disney channel cartoon)
ヰ - Wilma Flintstone (Obsolete character, but.. still)
ヱ - Wendy (from Peter Pan)
ロ - Road Runner
オ - Odie from Garfield
ケ - Kenny (from South Park)
ネ - Nathan Explosion (Metalocalypse)

And, I know these are originally Japanese, but they're so popular in American cartoon culture that I need to mention them:

ソ - Sonic
テ - Tails
メ - Mega Man (This might count since in Japanese he was Rock Man)

I'll think of some more and post later. :)

Yep. ^_^ Any animated character that isn't from a Japanese cartoon. It doesn't necessarily have to be from an American source, though!

And Zealous - awesome work so far!

Anyone else who has some cartoon favorites, feel free to throw them in. Even if the katakana has already been used, name your preferred cartoons anyway. We can always vote for which ones to put in.

I think I'd like to put in a vote for Raphael (from TMNT) for ラ. :o

Hahah, just goes to show how many forking cartoons I've seen. There was a lot more that just didn't work (since I'm assuming we're not doing diphthongs or voiced sounds).

I can't believe I didn't think of TMNT! D: I definitely watched that as a kid.
