No, obviously not. That would never ever happen, that's crazy, we're like, totally different genders so that kind of interaction is unacceptable and would never happen, even if we do share hobbies. Or you're just asking a silly question. |

my partner and I are both anime fans....and it helps that she's half-jap so she's my translator at times(well if not her, then her mom when she's over) as for your question, I don't see why males and females can't get along watching anime, just the other night, my partner and I watched hentai...but thats another matter.... |

If there wre someone near to my house... I'm sure we'll find something that we both can watch... I talked with someboys, and seem they like ehat I do... The problem: They live far away (In my country, btu still). As long as the other one is nice and love it (It isn't nice to force people), so I don't mind with who I watch. |

From my experience, the only girls who I've found to enjoy anime, I didn't exactly get along with. The fact that they were a bit stuck-up was a bit of a turn-off. I guess it'd be nice to find someone of the opposite sex who shared my interests. But I highly doubt I'm going to find a girl who enjoys watching Heavy Metal L-Gaim. :s |

Absolutely NOT, I knew a few female anime fans back in High School, and SURPRISE, SURPRISE, they were only exclusive to FUCKING yaoi. I understand that some female anime fans are turned off by male anime fans liking lolis and moe shit, but it's probably 10 times worst (for male fans) when we see a bunch of fucking yaoi fan-girls and their horrible delusions of anime. It's even worst when they start to do pairings in Shounen anime like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Code Geass, Death Note, ESPECIALLY DEATH NOTE!!! I wouldn't mind so much if they were watching shounen just to see the male anime characters they like, but they're so fanatical about their fucking YAOI bullshit that it's almost impossible to get along with them. |

This goes for the majority of people you meet in public who claim to be fans of "anime". They either only watch the popular crap or whatever is on Adult Swim on Saturday nights. Chances are, you aren't going to find many "anime fans" who know anything beyond those type of anime series you just listed. I once met someone who claimed he was a big Gundam fan; apparently watched them all. Yet he said his favorite Gundam series was Gundam SEED. While I don't like to assume things, if you've watched every single Gundam series; how would SEED be your favorite? I guess it's possible, but it seems unlikely with masterpieces such as Zeta Gundam or even Turn-A Gundam was pretty damned good, even if it was a little light-hearted for a Tomino-directed Gundam series. While I'm a fan of anime; I'm a plot fan first, mecha fan second, and I guess anime fan third. I don't really care what it is, if it has a plot that is fluid; or interesting characters, I'll take a bite out of it. But I haven't exactly met anyone of the opposite sex like that. Closest I've come to is "ZOMG Vampire Knight" or something along those lines. |

I don't mind if you watch anime just to see the "popular" anime, in fact I embrace that aspect, at least they're watching anime and later on they can move onto more sophisticated and complex anime. What bothers me is Yaoi fan-girls who only watch shounen anime so they can pair up the guys from the shows. BTW, being a fan of anime doesn't mean that you're exclusive to a certain type of anime, it just means that you like anime in general and you appreciate the Japanese style of stories. |

Sometimes? I think women are easier to convince to watch shounen animes than men to watch shoujo stuffs. But I have convinced a few men (who are shounen anime fans) to watch Nana, and they said they enjoyed it. So I guess it depends on what anime they're gonna talk about. |

I hate to break it to you but Lucky Star would be considered a shonen title as it runs in a shonen magazine. And as a girl who mostly had male friends though the years, yes males and females can get along perfectly well. To many people base things on a single experience which does not hold true for every experience. I like yaoi but never would I bother my male friends (where not into it) with talking about it. Also the fact is many shonen titles have yaoi bait in them to get female readership. Because in the end what is important is sales. |

I treat female fans like I treat male fans, if they like crappy anime and are total weaboos then I'll have nothing to do with them. Well if the female is hot and I have a chance of fucking her then I'll play along, but I've yet to meet a weaboo I'd even want near my dick. But oddly enough my a bigger anime fan then my current Girl Friend, she only watches dubs....trying to break her of that habit... |

Are male and female fans of cookies going to get along? The interest in cookies isn't what governs how they get along. Some girls are only interested in shoujo, some have no interest in it. Some boys only watch Dragon Ball Z, some are shotacon furfags. Stop generalizing. Gender does not dictate someone's interests. Yes, even when it comes to anime. Exactly. What is the point of meeting someone who is "exactly like you"? What sort of fun would that be? As humans, do we not enjoy the experience of adding to our memories/learning something new? What fun would it be if your partner liked exactly everything you did? Would be a pretty boring relationship if there isn't those silly squabbles or experiences you've never had before. I thought the whole purpose of pairing up with the member of the opposite sex, emotionally wise was to fill that void or whatever? :| |

Stupid-stupid pairings that are made just because the characters are friends!? Well it's nice to hear that NOT all female anime fans are the way I described my encounter with the few I knew. I think it's fine if you like yaoi, hell I would be a hypocrite if I said I wasn't into same sex pairings (I obviously don't mind YURI), but the problem is making pairings when THERE IS NO REASON TO DO THAT. For example people love to pair up Konata and Kagami from Lucky Star, I think that's OK since there is DEFINITELY something there. However pairing up Ichigo and Chad from Bleach is just stupid and uncalled for. In fact pairing up MOST shounen male characters together is ridiculous, these guys are nowhere near being gay, (Sasuke is, but that's a different story). If you want to pair up 2 male characters together, get them from shoujo anime/manga like Vampire Knight, Skip Beat, Ouran, etc. We (male anime fans) don't like to see our favorite male characters from shounen anime/manga being paired up in homosexual relationships. |

I agree with this. I was in a situation once where a group of girls and I were talking about the anime we like. Once someone Naruto, one fangirl was like "OMG!! I totally think that ______ and ______ should be together!! That would be sooooo kawaii!!!!!" Even though I like yaoi, I'm not a fan of unnecessary pairings. But a few cannon pairings are okay though, as long as they're not over praised. Back to topic - I haven't met any male anime fans outside of the internet but I think that I could get along with them. |

And yes, back to topic: In Junior high, I had a friend, he moved to a different school. At the time, I didn't know he was into anime/manga. Then my junior year of high school, I met him (by accident) at a con. It was very surprising! I caught up with him, how he's doing, where was he going to school, etc. He was cosplaying a chara from Naruto.. So I was like, 'Wow he's really into it.." Then, I met him again at the next con... It was so weird, we ended up hanging out for the con-weekend and we talked about various stuff, including anime/manga recommendation... At school, I know like 3 guys that I could talk to about anime AND anything else. 1 who'd just talk and talk about Air Gear (I'ven't watched it yet), another (a debator) about one piece, another that reads xxxHolic--which was weird... So, I guess I could say I get along with guys that are into anime. |

2 of my friends both female get along with me as anime fans, one is into yuri and the other Magic girl and Moe, there is no bishounen fangirl behavior in either one. It depends on the situation, I just am fortunate to have good friends and anime fans with very similar tastes in anime. |

I'm surprised not a lot of people know(or get along with) the opposite sex when it comes to anime fans. For those that still go to school or uni, don't you have clubs that may relate to anime/manga? I know I did back in uni, and there was probably a greater ratio to girls opposed to guys who were members. Of course, a majority of them like the yaoi stuff(to which I will never watch, not even my fiancee can get me to watch it), but they were also into shonen/seinen and even moe stuff. I remember once, there was this cute but timid girl back in my 2nd year who introduced me to Gantz(the manga) and Elfen Lied. |

Personally YES, because in my class, there are two girls with the exact anime taste as me. One of them is an Elfen Lied fanatic, she just keeps drawing Nyuu over, and over, and the other one loves Ghost In The Shell. If someone tells you female anime fans hate seinen- That's a lie!!!!!! They just love those kinds of anime. It's interesting, because I don't get along with male anime fans - in my country, Portugal just because you watch Naruto or bleach you are immediately considered an otaku, since those are the only anime shows we get here (there are more but not as popular) Problem is, EVERY SINGLE MALE ANIME FAN IN MY SCHOOL WATCHES NARUTO - and that gets fucking annoying to me. I can't talk to none of them because they immediately start to talk about gen-jutsu and all that tecnical stuff. As you can see, I'm not a fan of shounen anime, I'm sorry, but about that YAOY stuff you mentioned earlier doesn't apply in my case - Those girls probably have no idea what is that all about. So, I tend to actually get A LOT well with female anime fans. Oh, and by the way, my 9 year-old sister is watching Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. She is loving it. XD |
