| Poor Mustang...he's having a pretty tough time. Great episode. I have to look at it again with subs though...I wasn't able to understand everything. |

| Epic win episode 9009 over 5. How many times the table turned around i didn't count, it was like a roller coaster ride :D Chang May saves Riza by treating her wound with Xinganian Alchemy. Gold tooth doctor had his deserved transmutation. In the process he became a meat ball, and mustang lost his sight thanks to Bradley and Pride. So in the end scar will probably get the credit of annihilating Bradley for good. Too bad, we have a little girl and an animal in the human sacrifice chamber now, May Chang and Shao May to the rescue. <3 |

| If I hadn't read the manga I'd be like this "O_O" when Mustang lost his sight. Same goes to Al and his body. Amazing episode,as always. |

| Yea this episode was amazing but I cried about what happened to Roy.....so sad....not gonna lie I cried when this happened in the manga too......Poor Al having to give up his body but I honestly think he will be back.....next episode is gonna be epic....and.......yea not gonna say anything what happens next I promise :) But I really want the next episode now not gonna lie |

| Interesting episode but wait, did they really do that to Mustang?!?! I can't accept it; not this one. Mei finally became useful and did something worth remembering. Al is ... uh, I guess his chivalrous attitude is too much for me. |

| Epic. He gave up on his body? Even w/ a useless body like that I'd rather that than scrap metal, you can always bulk up to fight rather than risk not being able to get your body back. But I guess he did make a good choice, but will he be able to win the fight, it seems they all about to become sacrificial lamb. |

| Great episode. The animation quality is excellent. Fully-fit Scar vs. half-dead Bradley will be one of the best fights. Should be an equal match (sorry, but Bradley in full health would kill Scar in about 10 seconds). I like how they explain Mustang's forced human transmutation, cuz they didn't rly do so in the manga. Also, the Homunculi should rightly fear flame alchemy, as it's awesome and blasts away anyone unless they're as quick as Bradley... Not gonna like waiting a week for the next ep... Also, what's with the 1/5 scores? This series is epic. If you hate the 9000/5 thing, then just score the episode 5/5 ^^ |
| I read through some other forums discussing this episode and I gotta admit, the part when Roy went blind just wasn't dramatic enough. He acted a bit too calm though it may be because he was in shock. That long stare between Scar and Bradley was a bit awkward...they should have cut out that scene. Honestly, it looked like Bradley was pinning down Roy for sexual assault for one second. -_- And the fact that the anime throws out Mustang in the rest of the scene (and manga) is kind of irritating...I mean, he's blind! |

I'll agree with you, the 15-second stare-down between Bradley and Scar was a little overboard. And while the animation was consistently good for the episode, I feel they've kept the character design a little TOO simplistic for some of the characters; especially Scar. Other than these minor complaints, the episode was well-done. About the only other thing I think could have used improvement was the use of its soundtrack; they just used like the same three insert songs that they use 90% the rest of the time (Which I find to be one of the biggest disappointments of Brotherhood in general, which has an overall excellent soundtrack). Enough ranting from me though; twas' a great episode, overall. |

| Whether it was Mustang's forced human transmutation and resulting blindness or Al giving up on getting back his body, both were cruel and sad. At least Riza was saved and nasty goldtooth became a turd. The back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and so on between Scar and Bradley gave me a headache, but I can't wait to see the rest of their fight next time. I get the criticism about the poll, but score the episode not the poll. Geez. |

OK, this episode took us to the end of 102, therefore: 60: chapters 103-104 61: chapter 105- half of 106 62: chapter second half of 106 - 107 63: chapter 108 Uggh, the math doesn't work out the only way this is going to happen is if they make episode 62 and 63 into one hour each. |

It has to be hour long episodes, there is just too much material. Or maybe I'm wrong, and they'll find a way to do it, either way 4 episodes to go, lets all hope they're as good as the 59 previous ones. |

As for the episode itself: I'm still in shock. Hell, I read these chapters 5-6 months ago and I'm still in shock. Scar/Bradley fight was wonderfully handled, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it animated. Loved Al's decision to come back in his armor body to fight- even though in hindsight it would have been better to just stay by the gate. But most of all... Roy's blind. IMO that's the biggest "Oh my god!" moment in the series so far, and frankly that says a lot, with some of the emotionally brutal moments in the show. Most major character deaths in anime haven't shaken me as much as Mustang losing his eyesight. |

I had to download episode 59 and watch it like several times to understand what's going on... Dibs to Shinichiro Miki's scream at 11:26 (Roy's voice actor) and honestly, I'm an anime follower, not a manga reader. As for manga like Naruto/Bleach, I follow the anime and never read the manga...but for FMA, it interested me too much so I went ahead to read the manga. Ugh. How could they blind Roy? Anyhow, as for the episodes being long, I think there are confirmed rumors that the last chapters of FMA are about 90 pages long. I doubt they can cram everything into four episodes...unless they want to make a movie or something. |
