I enjoyed this episode,
we kinda know the picture of saki;s sister,
the practice meeting was fun, as we got to see all of the opponents saki and the rest had to deal with earlier in the series. nice comedy with suga-kun XD

anyway the whole series was alright, the beginning i was getting more into it, but then it slowy got boring, but any how ...some ep was good? dont know if im making sense.
so gave this series a 7/10
i smell second season!

yeah onsen ep, i want dvd <3
didnt really play much but i think it was ok the way it is.
i really didnt expect it to be this good. even when i laughed when the yuri/ fanservice was so stupid, i still like it.
a really good serie, made me wants to play mahjong^^ . i knew the chin rules so it was good to learn the jap rules too.
so in the end my rating is something between 8/9.

WAHHHH!!! i loved it... it was such a good way to round out the first season! the endding is going to drive me nuts trying to figure out what happens.. ESPECIALLY that scene with the little stuffed animal in the water on the ground and Haramura walking away!!!

And the sister... i really want to know what happened in that family to split it up like that... and more crazy strong Mahjong player... oh i can't wait for the next season!!! not sure which i would rather, getting the next season sooner but it not having the manga to follow and potentially ruining it, or waiting and getting the great storyline.. but i am sooo bad at waiting...

Waiting of course. ;)) We could spend the time between seasons playing mahjong, and, uh, re-mi-ni-scing the first season, maybe that'll help. :D

Anyway, 10/10 for the most awesome show of the year.

great overall anime!

didn't rly like this ep it was a bit too much fan service -__- but don't think I'll mind the DVD ver xP

liked how Touka beat them all in ping-pong. "for commoners", ha? xD

the last two minutes were rly exciting!

Haramura & saki in the water(rain falling) with the souvenir in the ground felt to me like they lost the nationals (or fell in a deep despair) n there wouldn't be a 2nd season, but then at the end ... :

1. Saki walking to the match room (doesn't rly tell if there's gonna be a 2nd season or not)

2. "We're just getting started, yay~!" (Hope this rly mean we'll get a 2nd season soon, n don't turn out like Skip Beat's "c u next time"-or something like that)

Can't wait for a season 2!! >_<"

Hope we can see it soon, but ... I guess I can bear with it, till we get enough anime materials from the manga .. fillers would suck >_>

Overall rating: 9/10
they should rly stop emphasising on these yuri relationships >.>"

n lol, it seems like Miyanaga Teru is what keeping us all watching this series xDD
*wants to find her secret very soon >_<*

We've been hearing rumors of Gonzo going under for how long now?

I'm not sure what to make of this show. The mahjong games are pretty coal sometimes but some of the things they pull off are just simply ridiculous. Not to mention the overbearing yuri overtones. "C-c-c-c-c-can you please call me by my first name instead?" "zomg that's sooooo embarassing to call you that" They just need to stfu and have sex already.

Very average anime in my opinion. I found it quite boring to watch with all the powerlevels and mahjong, considering I don't even know mahjong rules, and the implied yuri between all the characters got annoying - just make out already.

I will probably not be watching the second season if there is going to be one.

The first implication I got from the last few minutes was that they were not going to make a second season. And then the it's just started thing. That was horrible but whatever. I'll watch the second season if it ever comes out, just cuz I want to know about Saki's family matters - like what the hell happened - and of course Miyanaga Teru's playing. Don't know if I wanna see them play against each other but I guess that's inevitable for a second season. The rain scene during the last episode gave me bad vibes btw, but the whole embarrassing yuri/romance thing was overexaggerated and annoyed me

lol. this episode was so-so, but I still enjoyed it. I actually can't wait for the second season, it seems that Yuuki will be battling Teru, and it seems that in the final boss (kinda like Koromo) will be another chibi wearing priestess clothing. Also, I love Nodoka's expression on the ending where she got suck on a black hole.

No, I agree it was more like spoiling, the whole "preview" thing was dragged on so long that we already knew too many bits and pieces of what's to come.

But thank god about NodokaxSaki drifting apart, the whole implied yuri thing was old and overplayed so it'll be good to see something actually happen between them if they aren't gonna make-out. ._.

*shrug* In terms of sheer fun, Saki was awesome.

Nationals look fun... Seems like a four wind specialist, some golden shining light from the table specialist (maybe tenhou? That would be a crazy power to have though), and Teru pulling off what looks like a 9 Gates yakuman.

Apparently everyone who is anyone at nationals has yakuman specialties. Maybe this means Saki will be pulling off Suukantsu hands for her wins.

Overall I just loved this anime. I don't know a thing about Mahjongg, and had to keep looking up the references, but on the whole the animation was good and the characters were interesting. I even liked the fanservice ('course I like almost all fanservice, but that's just me)

My only suggestion is to redo the last few minutes of the last episode. When Saki and Nodaka return from the temple and enter the training room, go to the full version of "Netsuretsu Kangei Wonderland" and end up the song with a quick cut to the nationals.

Enjoyable. Considering that there's been a ton of Mahjong content in the past several episodes I'm not too upset by this one. Wish there was a little more to it, though.

Certainly not a deep series, nor one with particularly complex animation; instead, one that sold itself primarily on the concept of lesbian service shots. Still, a mostly enjoyable ride though it definitely won't go down in my top ten.

Hmmm~ Saki was most definitely a new kind of anime for me to watch. I don't know if this would be considered a "sports anime", but it was my first of this kind of game-playing other than the something-odd episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! I watched when I was younger.

Indeed, they crammed a lot into the last three minutes and introduced about 20 new characters within that time. If a second season is aired I will watch it.

Nodotits x Saki = Fanfiction gold material.

All this "lol rinshan kaihou ten times in a row i won" thing got really boring and predictable.
Liitle charcter development because there are too many characters, and at least half of them are really annoying.
Too much lesbian fanservice.
Mahjong? who cares bout mahjong, let go take a bath together.

I overall liked it and hope there is a season 2. I must admit the end left me annoyed. 25 episodes of the main character wanting to get to nationals and meet her sister, events which never happen and the last couple episodes were pretty filler heavy at a training camp. I guess they're trying to push for a season 2, which i hope happens.

The last episodes were fillery because the anime caught up with the manga around episode 19ish, the end of the prefectural team tournament. All the individual tournament and training camp stuff after that was done before it was written in the manga... and considering that it turned out okay, for Gonzo, that is very impressive. Cause usually after a show catches up to the manga it turns awful, while this one more or less maintained the pace.

So, of course, there's not going to be a season 2 until the manga is well into the nationals route. Can't blame the anime for not adapting something that isn't there.

It's not that easy to begin with the 2nd season anime, even thought the manga is on the nationals route they still have to make the voice actor available and get new voice actor for 2nd season for the new character that are in National and get the old one that was in the first season too.

After wathing this anime I'm begin to enjoy Mahjong more and get my friends to play with me.
Hehe xD

Hopefully we get another season in 2011/2012

The term "diamond in the rough" doesn't do this show justice. I didn't really expect much from this at all, but I ended up getting so addicted that I watched the whole series in less than 30 hours. Instant 10 rating. It would be an outright crime to not have a second season.

Season 2 of Saki is in big sh*t!
Just read the last chapter and the first serious match against the miko team have only started with the vanguard match!!!(go go super TACO-girl).
Plus GONZO studio is dead and they are not releasing any anime anymore.
To top it the manga was on hold for two weeks just recently but not reason was given.
This is the end. :(

Well, it's quite obvious that you're out of the loop sidekick.

Gonzo has announced quite recently that they'll have Range Murata working with them in one of their future productions. They are not dead.

Given that the manga is a monthly release, there'd probably need to be at least another 1.5-2 years before there's enough content to complete the Nationals.
