Anyone else watch Kemono no Souja Erin? I started watching it because of the name of the series. I didn't know anything about it. Then, I thought it was a kiddie show and I wouldn't really care for it. Boy was I wrong. It was really good. It impressed me. It is a children's story but not like the stories I was told as a child. People actually die and tough choices about honor and codes have to be made.

Finally finsished it yesterday and enjoyed it a lot overall. I started watching it because it was based on a novel by the author of Seirei no Moribito. Definitely one of the most underrated series of last year.

Oh, I didn't know that. I need to watch Moribito. So many people have told me it's really good.

i just finished the last episode of erin ... although i can understand the subbers comments on their web page about the ending... i was happy enough with the way it turned out :) moribito was another series i realy enjoyed, so i think its worth while giving it a go duo <bouncybounce>.

to be honest , i never watch a series because it was written or produced ext by the same people, i prefer to view each piece on its own merits... sometimes ignorance is bliss ;)

another two episodes of zenryoku usagi down, and about to try finishing hosho no umi no amuri, now that i've tracked down the other episodes .. 3 episodes.... 3 sub groups ... stalled projects=suckage

Seriously, those comments about 'failing hard' puzzle me. What did people expect? The ending seemed perfectly fitting to me...

Whoile accumulating epsidoes of Railgun I caught up on So.Ra.Wo.To.No up to episiode 8. Its an odd series, kind of fluffy but I sense a certain menacing undertones in it, as if somone is going to light a fuse and cause everything to go pear shaped. Its got beautiful backgrounds though and is quite a enjoyable series so far.

The idea that Sora no Woto was a K-ON! lookalike disappeared fast. I also feel that something is going to happen. It's already episode 8, that leaves 4 left.

I was wondering about this series since RightStuf had it as it's special. Personally I like the concept, but as with most anime, the execution ruined it.

See, now that just makes me want to watch it! Sounds like a good discussion-generating series for the Shorts Culb, Slender. ;-)

I'm currently watching Keroro Gunsou AKA Sgt. Frog which is currently streaming on the Funimation site. Good stupid slapstick comedy fun with tons of anime references, particularly from the Gundam series stuck in. Kind of reminds me of Pinky and the Brain, though Keroro isn't nearly as driven towards world conquest as Pinky was. I can see the potential for it to get too repetitive, but other than that being the case, I can't understand why this show isn't more popular. A mispreception of it being too Kiddy maybe?

Well after much encouragement from akachrys... I've managed to make it almost half way through one piece. Stupid funny, so it's a pleasant enough way to end an evening and leave little or no lasting thoughts lingering for bed :P
It's not bad though...
Also working my way through Cat's Eye. It would probably be better with a revamp. I find it cheesy, but that's cause it's from the early 80's and it now seems to just be dragging along.
And started Kobato... I was originally going to wait for it to finish airing before watching, however I had to start watching when...

well, i finaly got re-aquainted with gun dam! 00 season 2..... i'd almost forgotten how dodgy gundam is ... i guess that's what you get for a franchise meant to sell toy robots. is it just me, or does the bishi level seem to be falling as gundam gets older?

city hunter is groovy...if taken in small doses, otherwise, it's a long haul to the end. and then there's angelheart. its not a good idea to watch angelheart till you have finished city hunter, or cityhunter may be ruined. i kinda liked angelheart more.

Hope you're enjoying it. Not as neurotic as the manga if I recall correctly. I don't know. It's been a while since I watched it. I certainly thought highly enough of it since I bought all the limited edtion R2 DVDs of the series (included 2 artboxes and 3 jigsaw puzzles amongst other things). ;-)

I just finished Mahoromatic Tadaima◇Okaeri last night and it was odd, considering that they dropped this 2 parter in the middle of the story (that ended really badly so long ago). Its light and fluffy and breezy and somehow different to the Mahoro I am so fond of. Still, I enjoyed it. Currently busy with K-on! and Railgun with a few others that I watch while waiting for episodes. Still have to catch up at least 5 episodes of Nodame Finale too...

it messes with your mind... but the later seasons of higurashi kinda loose the creepiness factor and start making too much sense..its worth watching, but i was a bit disappointed :\

your mileage may vary but overall its just twisted enough to be interesting... i'm waiting for the epilogue to be released.

i made the mistake of buying the deathnote boxed set... so far ive watched the first 2 dvds and its left me feeling underwhelmed..... i can't see what all the hype was about and i found myself laughing at inappropriate moments... whatever the target audience was...it clearly wasn't me!

Which reminds me I have the last movie sitting on my pile of unwatched DVDs. I found that the sixth movie went off into "la-la land" in terms of quality of story telling and pertinence to the main plot thread. The fifth movie was very, very good.

Started Sora no Manimani tonight and am at episode 4. Anybody that likes a combination of slice of life and astronomy, this one is for you. I must admit its not been a bad series so far, it does have its usual irriatating character but I see an intersting combination of Kanon and Nodame in it, or maybe its my imagination.

slenderfall: the 2008 kitaro was pretty kewl... i only got to see the first episode of the black and white because that was as far as i could get with subs. the live action movie is also fun.

since anime doesn't always follow the manga ... my latest theory is that kobato is really a feather

oh and it has Ono Daisuke... and he and Kamina Hiroshi working together - it was like seeing Shizu-chan and Izaya (from DRRR) hanging out together in the kitchen but without killing each other

Bah! Who needs reality? Or sanity? Both tends to keep you from having fun! So, I hear there's yet ANOTHER Gundam series on the way, called Gundam Unicorn I think.
