| Round of 32 IV (OP) 1. Witch Watch OP2 (I didn't like either of these to be honest but I didn't like Witch Watch less. Grand Blue did have the classic red car driving over water though.) 2. Dragon Raja II: The Mourner's Eyes OP (Dragon Raja was for sure better animated, and I liked the Spanish guitar or whatever it's called, but I didn't care for the singing. Cat's Eye should have had a city pop song since that was more the aesthetic they were going for with the art.) 3. Chainsaw Man Movie OP (Although I REALLY wanted to vote for Watanare, I just couldn't do it (muri muri!) in good conscience against such a beast of an OP) 4. Nukitashi the Animation OP (Some really good animation in this. Although I really like all the pretty faces in Kaoru Hana, I wasn't super excited to hear the song every week.) |

Witch Watch OP2 (I was ready for Grand Blue to walk in and take this since I found Witch Watch's second OP to be underwhelming only for Grand Blue to be even more of a nothing OP) 2. Dragon Raja II: The Mourner's Eyes OP (this is one of the best OPs in the tournament for me, especially visually, Cat's Eye is maybe the worst in the entire tournament at selling me on the show, it actively made me less interested in it tbh) 3. Chainsaw Man Movie OP (I like both but one is Iris Out and one is not) 4. Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku OP (not particularly impressive but the other one is literal Nukitashi which has the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Shimoneta it is not) |

| Little late coming in, but glad I made it. I'm not wild about any of these (although some definitely are better than others), to be honest, as there're a lot of fast tempos which are strongly in opposition to my preferred style and types of songs and music generally, but let's see... 1.) Grand Blue season 2 OP (just barely; crazy about neither song, but this one slightly rises more on the strength of its visual imagery) 2.) Dragon Raja II: The Mourner's Eyes OP (although as for the series themselves, I'm not really interested in this one whereas I eventually need to watch Cat's Eye as it looks classy and presents an interesting premise, but if and when I do I'll probably defer to watching the older original one from the 80s rather than this new remake) 3.) Skip (They both look fine or decent visually, but aurally both of these are an assault on my ears) 4.) Nukitashi the Animation OP (Once again it's not the songs, but going with this one based on the selection and arrangement of the mini clips and imagery) |
