Why do people dislike this anime?

There likely is people hating on it just because it's the current trend, that will always happen but objectively it's a very bad season.

- Garou slide being a png moving down a hill diagonally with no dirt or dust flying up.
- Ripper being drawn as a female when the character is a male
- Atomic Samurais hair being chopped off at the top in episode 6
- episode 6 having weird neon filters put over it during the first half which made no sense as to why it's used and just looks bad
- Scenes where it's clearly still images with very basic animation to try and pass it off as animation, leading to it being a slideshow.
- A scene where, in the manga, Genos and Fubuki are climbing stairs but in the anime it's just a still image of the side of Saitamas apartment building
- An approximate two minute hot pot scene that was boring and uninteresting which was barely animated
- Lack of Saitama fighting - I assume he's going to fight at some point in S3 but with the quality of the animation overall, I don't have high hopes it'll be good
- Characters looking stiff and awful with no depth perception or shading, particularly Genos' new design from the doctor - in the Manga it looks sick, in the anime it looks dull and boring.
- Whole scenes being drawn awfully, the one that comes to my mind is episode 6 where the heroes are storming out of the HQ. If you compare the manga vs anime shots, the Manga wins every time for looking better.

I'm sure i'm forgetting some more in the above list that I could add but overall, it's a really bad season which likely comes down to Bandai Namco. I don't think the season will be cancelled, they'll see it out for another 6 weeks but unless a miracle happens, i'd be shocked if they announce a season 4.

S2 is hated because of trend, it ain't even that bad, it just not that good compare to masterpiece like S1. S3 in the other hand, have bad animation, bad pacing, and bad style, I rather get those weird gloss on S2 than the weird rainbow ahh style

I really don't understand people like you. You defend a product that doesn't meet the bare minimum in terms of production quality, and who are you doing this for? A corporation that doesn't care about you and supplies you with complete crap?

@Quithryx I didn't say much in the beginning specifically to avoid seeming like I was jumping on the hate bandwagon, but even I couldn't defend the show after these past few episodes. The characters barely move, even what is drawn isn't done very well, and it's frankly very distracting, especially for an action genre show in which fluid motion is a big part of the visual storytelling. This isn't just a typical slice of life. They even try to do techniques to avoid showing the lip flaps to save on the animation, like in the last scene of the ep 7 in which they show a panorama of the group from the back while they're talking.

I'll be honest, your post seems like the type of post a hardcore fan would make to cope that a show they like is rightfully getting criticized. I've seen this plenty of times before. "Sure there are some flaws but it's still good." It's always some version of that line. But it's not good. Not even close. The animation of someone's snot in Gnosia was better than OPM season 3, and Gnosia isn't even an action genre show.

There was also that moment in ep 7 or 8 iirc where we saw the fat due who eats a lot (no idea his name mb chat) and literally the food was teleporting into his hand and then from his hand to his mouth and stuff and it's not like his power is teleportation or anything it's just super lazy animation
also lowkey I'm not some huge fan but the hate is just too much yeah its not good but like yall are making it seem like worst anime of the century.

@Quithryx The reason why there is hate is because of the expectations. The series became very popular and although season 2 wasn't as good, there was still a ton of hype for season 3, especially from the long wait. Unlike something like ex-ARM, which not many people have heard of before, One Punch Man, both character and series, has become very iconic in anime. To see it get treated like this vs some random property that most people don't know about is why it's getting so much hate.
