It was a surprisingly good anime! I read the manga after the anime because I wanted to know what comes next... I am done. I don't care about their school life.

She does a leaping slice at the guy hovering just off the ground.
Next frame they're 500 feet above the ground (nice jump!)
Next frame they're so high above the ground you can't even see individual houses but the people on the ground can see their swordwork.
Next frame they're maybe 20 or 30 feet in the air.
She starts falling and they have a conversation.
She reaches terminal velocity and they continue to talk.
He blasts down at full speed with swooping lines while they continue to have a conversation.
He turns into a fireball, swings a sword, more talk as they fall.
She continues to fall, at this point she must have been a mile or more in the air off that one jump.
Strong girl catches her and she's fine.

This may be the dumbest piece of trash ever made.

I enjoyed it, Drel death 😣 but suitable for a dark fantasy. Seeing Luna crying while struggling to stand and walk 🥹Alicia best girl👍🗡️Season 2 coming!

What a perfect season finale! Almost every plotline is nearly wrapped up, with just enough to tease us for the next season. Seeing Luna take his first steps and reach for Klen was touching, but Luna's reaching and walking to his mother was especially emotional. Seeing Alicia change Klen’s mind about humanity was powerful, and witnessing her grow into a dark Hero made it even better. She finally got her revenge on that maniacal asshole, Drel. It was so satisfying to see him abandoned in the end. Alicia put him in his place, showing him why he wasn't able to become a true Hero, and it had nothing to do with being chosen. Also, I was glad to see Nelleru receive some appreciation from the queen for her hard work and dedication to Luna’s safety and well-being. She proved to everyone she’s capable with her brute strength and was able to help Alicia when it mattered most. Overall, an excellent season. I can't wait for season 2! Please announce it soon!!!

Edit: Never mind, season two was announced earlier. Yay!!! 🥰🥰

Very pleasantly surprised with Clevatess! Enjoyed it thoroughly, I believe I will have to start reading it too. It was a satisfying end, looking forward to more. Easy 8/10

Can you imagine if Klen killed the queen when she wanted to hold Luna 😭

Nice darker anime to wash away the happy go lucky shonen trash that plagues every season.

I didn't expect the school arc next lol, i guess it's gonna be comedy focused

For the good, I hope the staff for the 2nd season is more stacked.

Overall, I didn't mind with this season's animations, but there will always be room to be better.

weak ending.. and what, they're doing a cliche "magic school" for the next season? Booooo.
And we rarely saw clevatess wreck shit. he was klen for 95% of the manga.

Great start, weak ending. dropped from a 10 to a 7.

The only bad thing about this finale is that we didn't get to hear the ED song one last time.

Oh and that little recap of the series during the end credits didn't show mah boi Meynard (bug guy) at all? It showed literally every other character, even Zavthier, Gart, Carme, Vroko, Favio, but not Meynard? It even showed the villagers and random nameless bandits, but not Meynard Swann, Highest Wizard of the Boelate army? That's on top of how we never even found out what happened to him after Alicia defeated him, like did he die or get captured or what. It's like he got deleted from existence and erased from everyone's memories. I for one will remember bug boy...

Anyway good show, glad it's getting a season 2.

P.S. Luna's eyes look more blue than purple to me, except in that one close-up shot where they're super purple.

What an epic season finale! Tears almost dripped out of my eyes multiple times throughout this episode (The most a single episode of anime has done for me). From Luna taking his first steps, to Alicias cries for Klen to look into Lunas eyes to Drels heart felt but well deserved death (The music, the animation, the brutality and voice acting made that the best death scene I've ever seen in an anime and I'm an OG) to T'alas reunion with her son def made this series anime of the year. Even with the stories lackluster writing and animation at times, I still rate it a 9/10 and it was an 8.5 before the final episode which should tell you how good the final episode is. Time to get ready for school in s2 I guess😆

Well, the carpets took some damage at the end of the episode. But it was necessary to be a bit melodramatic to quickly windup the plot. All's well that ends well.
Alicia is obviously examining a lot of choices. Klen-vatess shows some cunning rather than his usual arrogance. And Nelluru's milk gets the royal seal of approval.
Now about that post-credit scene. Please tell me the 2nd season is not going to be at a magic academy.

Pretty interesting. Glad I stuck with it. Show had its dips and was always a bit crude, but making the plot more about the structure of the world and the greater factions worked much better than focusing on just Clevatess' journey. This could have easily been another isekai feeling show with him crushing all opposition and collecting a harem.

I bet that Drel just "died" for now and no for good.

Honestly, I didn’t expect this level of story, where there can be more than the initial premise. The antagonists and protagonists have a lot of life and purpose, and the action scenes are incredible. But I expected more development for Clevatess, the same way I expect it from any title involving mystical beasts that conveniently speak human language to save time explaining things the author pulled from who knows where, and how this fascination with humanoids came about. I can’t swallow the idea that he sought this just because he heard from a humanoid that we don’t choose where we’re born. It makes no sense. But of course, the rest of the plot was well polished. The most disappointing thing at this point would be if the second season didn’t explore what lies beyond the frontier after the truths about the heroes’ myths came to light. It would be interesting if they explored child care more, especially now that Clevatess is going to become Luna’s teacher, but honestly, I think it’s unlikely since he’s just a side character in the plot.
And despite the anime being surprisingly average overall, the script destroyed my last shred of patience for watching. I hope that next time they manage to hire decent writers experienced with this kind of story. The fact that comedy is a genre dominating the industry makes more serious themes become a joke when handled by people with no experience in that type of content

Very epic finale, only thing I can say I didn’t like was Drel’s defeat being because of the “maybe” hammer swing from T’ala, I saw it coming miles away, but I can say the way Drel died was incredible, that shit is straight out of Hellraiser, animation went hard too, I also like the implications there that these Lords of Dark Beasts can and will cast aside their pawns at any time, and the same thing could have happened to Alicia had she not convinced Klen that the world is not gray. The scene where Luna walked to T’ala was really good too, it was a great way to have an impactful scene with Luna here at the end, like if a triumph for Alicia is defeating Drel, then a triumph for a baby like Luna is learning to walk.

And I’m not sure exactly what’s up with this Book of Toah, it is pretty wild that a book has manipulated generations of kings but I wanna know what’s in there lol, same with what these “true humans” were like. But at the same time I really like how Alicia put it, if they’re a dead race, then who is the actual inferior race? So yeah I’m alright with the book’s secrets beings locked away for now, that would be too much info dump all at once after all lol. And we ended off with Alicia and Klen heading to school, with Alicia being disguised as a student I’m guessing, that weird nose doesn’t look half bad on her lol, should be interesting to see how this plays out in the already confirmed Season 2, not sure how a school arc is gonna fit in with the rest of the show but hopefully it’ll be a good time.

And that was it for the “a dog, his immortal servant and baby” anime, I’m really glad my buddy suggested checking this one out because it was very damn good, it’s a shame I didn’t pick it as part of my Summer 2025 list but I got to it as it was still airing, that’s better than checking it out a year from now or something lol. I will say I did have issues here and there, like the Nell/Nelluru design change and a few other things, but overall I really loved it and can’t wait for the second season, it’s got me wanting to check out more dark fantasy anime too. I also gotta mention Alicia, what an awesome MC she is, one of my favorite female MCs in recent times without a doubt, she may be a servant to Klen but absolutely maintained her hero status. And that OP and ED man, I didn’t even watch this show as part of my summer list but they are absolutely some of the bests this season, the OP is a headbanger and the ED is so unique and dreamlike, they fit the show like a glove.

@LucasDoragon Huh??? what? I would call how it was handled far from a joke. It follows the manga pretty closely. If this series is a 5 to you as you rate it. Then you should probably consider almost everything a 1 or 2. Yet some of the anime's you have rated as a 10's or 9's are overrated if you gonna be this harsh to this series.

It's a Saturday night in the early 2000s, rain is falling outside and the only source of light is the faint glow from the TV. I am bundled up in some blankets watching Yu Yu Hakusho at 1am and life is good. I never thought I would get this feeling back but this show just brought back a whole slew of memories and feelings for me. There are a lot of good things about this show but the nostalgia trip this did on me was just unmatched to anything else. I can't really describe it well with words but I am incredibly grateful to get this feeling again and I hope more shows like this (and of course season 2 of this show) continue to get produced going forward.

One thing I don't get is that Klen said he healed Alicia's fatal wounds but didn't stop the bleeding so that it wouldn't look suspicious but didn't Rhode and the princess see Alicia's hand get cut off? Are they not going to question how her hand is now reattached or did they really not see her hand amputated and thought it was just her sword that flew away?

I did not really understand what happened there. Was it Clevatess transplanted some new parts from dead Hyden soldiers to her? :D

Pretty decent final for this show :}

Cannot say I saw the events of this episode happening with the cliffhanger we were left on last season, but I feel like this episode just worked well with Alicia defeating Drel and Luna becoming the prince and reuniting with his mother.

Also Drel's death was absolutely brutal can I add, which was something I'm the anime stuck to when adapting from the manga :}
