And just like that, we've made it back to where it all began, only this time it's to the man who's been running everything, quietly handling literally everything behind the scenes. There's a reason he's number one and why everyone wants him dead. Ahu included here... and all those other goons that X, FUCKING MAN HANDLED in his typical 2D-to-3D-to-2D-to-3D fashion. "he's human," they say, but that's just quite literally impossible. A man with this much aura can't be classified as human anymore.

I mean, that was a straight eight minutes of people trying to beat this man, and he wasn’t having it in the slightest. He treated those guys like a joke. After watching all the other heroes struggle up to this point, you see this guy with no struggle at all, not one, but literally hundreds of different opponents. Gotta feel bad for Ahu, if anything; the poor dog could barely keep up with not just the bombshells being dropped on him, but the constant switch between 2D and 3D xD

Ofc, that absolute bombshell about fear, it's always been here with us since episode one, finally hit. We’ve seen it with every hero, a recurring theme we never truly noticed, and now X has brought it fully into the light. That scene with the mini montage of all the heroes... actual cinema man. No words can describe it better than that. And ofc, the thing we’ve all been leading up to: the ultimate showdown. To be continued? Hope so.

Literally no words can describe this. I won’t lie, they lost me a bit in the middle, but man they really brought it all back in the end. There’s so much to learn, so much to uncover. This show is absolutely insane, and we’ve barely scratched the surface. Haoling Li, you’ve done it again, truly a mastermind when it comes to donghua, unmatched in every way.

Crunchyroll upload episodes properly challenge

Holy fucking shit I swear they just wanted to flex X in this finale and goddamn it I ain’t mad at em. We waited 6 months to get his story and see him in action and that multi dimensional getaway fight scene has to be one of the craziest action sequences I’ve ever seen. What’s more important tho is that they somehow managed to humanise a dude who has all this power and make him feel relatable. The fact he’s just a normal chill ass dude who wants to enjoy a beer after work and be left alone is hilarious. He didn’t ask for all this power and responsibility, it just happened.

Ton of big revelations with the federation and hero agencies being in kahoots, go figure. The execs are all corrupt pieces of shit using heroes as pawns, just like they did with zero. In season 2(PLEASE), I’d love to see the heroes coming together and putting an end to the corruption. That may be more of an endgame plot line for this story though so it might be awhile.

I expect an apology from every single ghostblade hater. The fact that he tried to stop e soul from killing moon and didn’t get there in time is breaking my heart. Dude is the only one of the 4 horsemen who’s really tried to make things right and turn his life around. They could never make me hate him.

THE ENDING, PURE CHILLS. The culmination of everything we built up to this season. All the heroes finally gathered, ready for the tournament. Inject this shit into my veins now. The new OP also goes so hard!! Sawano cooked, Sennarin’s vocals are amazing and the new visuals are so awesome. Please check out Sennarin’s non anime stuff as well when you can, she’s great.

TBHX was a weekly spectacle for half a year and I’m gonna miss it so much, definitely checking out link click and more donghua in the future. Cyan merch when!!?

EDIT: Nice’s resurrection kicking e soul out of the qualification might be the biggest twist of the ep. Nice don’t even know who he is, got revived and gotta fight in the tournament lmao

That was freaking great, To Be Hero X/10

What an amazing show this was, my goodness. The experience was utterly magnificent. Moreover, the ending with all of them coming out in 3D was also pretty hype.
All in all, the best part of this show is how everything was so neatly connected, no arc felt pointless or a drag to watch. Can't wait for Season 2

X is badass. We now know the truth. The first Hero still lives. Who was that we saw at the end? It can't be Nice, but if it's not Nice, what is it?

I think I was right all along, he and that coin, can control ALL possible outcomes. You don't stand a chance against this man.
But man, the best scene was him pouring a drink for the absent smile before the insanity started. That really hit hard. Also surprised they really let Dragon Boy compete.

I never saw someone farming this much aura in one single episode.
I even believe that he only appeared in the end of the series because if he was show before, it would overshadow everyone else.
Now i really hope for a second season, this HAS to get one after they ended in a moment like that.....

The finale gave me the jitters it was so exciting!

The action sequence was amazing. Even with the commission sending all their available heroes and underlings, they still can't touch X!

I can't believe they put Nice back together, how grim. Did he just barely beat out E-Soul for the top 10? Insane.

I'm glad this show was my first Donghua, because it was superb! The power system is so very interesting, and the storyline is fire. I have so many more questions now and I can't wait for season 2!

That was very satisfying. We were all the dog (not sure of his name) and X laid it all out. I appreciated the chronological montage. I never put it together that X was the guy that thru Lucky Cyan the coin. He seems like he can traverse time as well as change dimensions. The question is did he do things to make sure certain heroes were in place to stop Zero's (or Xero) end game? I didn't see him revealing his salaryman real ID to the world in that way, but it worked. Looking for to season 2.

confirmed x is a dimensional traveler or more specifically a dimensional manipulator "[Dimension At Your Fingertips] - As long as he snaps his fingers, he can change the dimension of the world." https://x.com/silencedhawks/status/1967031053002174681

So, we’ve come to learn that Zero never actually died — or even if he did, it wasn’t E Soul who killed him. The whole thing was just fabricated to boost E Soul’s reputation. So now I’m wondering: is it possible that the original E Soul never died, but Yang Cheng did instead? I still can’t wrap my head around Yang Cheng’s drastic personality shift and the fact that he's missing an arm.

Things still missing:

1: how did X get his powers? how can he even use powers? does he have any trust value?
2: how does he know that Zero is still alive (kinda)?
3: who exactly is X? not even his boss knew him when he left the office and his "coworker" asked why he could leave earlier
4: how can X know about so many things about the commission and the hero companies?
5: how is Nice alive? why is his face cracked like he is a machine?
6: in the ending of the 24th episode, who are those 2 other heros standing in front of the villain along side X? who is this new villain?

(personal opinion here: Queen's and Lucky Cyan's 3d models are "weaker" compared to X, Ling, Nice, Dragon Boy, etc, detail wise)

hopefully season 2 can answer most of my questions or maybe I just missed something that can answer to some of them. If you guys know anything related to my question, pls do let me know because I really am curious to know the answer for them.

@rizaldy1313 The end credits gave me the feeling that the girl and the other guy shown with X are part of a group that doesn’t rely on trust value to become heroes — which would make them the real heroes.

And was that Queen at the end who became Zero? 😳

not ngl but that kinda sounds like it could actually be it. it does not make any sense to X to have his powers before being X like when he fought Queen. so maybe he and the other 2 heroes really are the "True" heroes of the world.

Queen villain... I don't think so since we see her fighting alongside Ling and Nice (and Loli if I'm not wrong)

edit: now that I wear the OP (Inertia), "I don't know how but I'm a real hero". if this is related to X then it makes the "how did X get his powers" even more confusing.

"no hiding in the shadows time to strut". again, if this is related to X then it indicates (like we already saw in the show) that X is now taking action

I see everyone going crazy over the action set pieces, fair enough, but this episode didn't tell us anything about X's background and also made the plot a lot messier/worse. They literally had to split it into the ED to make time with a few bread crumbs as hints.

Action aside, this episode was a major let down for me. We get this giant exposition dump reviewing the timeline that was mostly unnecessary since we already know what happened and this entire time X is talking about how Rock is trying to revive Zero and I'm wondering during the explanation: So, why didn't you do something before now to stop Rock yourself if you already knew what he is trying to do?

It's like the director/writers were so focused on "farming aura" (getting really sick of that concept tbh) that they forgot to ask themselves that simple question. It certainly doesn't seem like he plans to join Rock in his goal, otherwise why spend literally 5 minutes recapping most of the story with dominoes falling towards the end to suggest they're building towards some major conclusion? Even if the heretofore unexplained "Spotlight Organization" is involved, you're telling me you cannot interrogate Rock for more information to stop his plans before removing him from the picture?

I also don't know why anyone thought resurrecting nice was a good idea. The public already knows he killed himself, why would they react positively to someone being brought to life if you're worried about X becoming a second Zero? Doesn't that make the idea of heroes becoming godlike even more prevalent within the public's consciousness?

Oh yeah, apparently all those people attacking X in public were somehow never video taped and posted to social media or anything to arouse suspicion for what's going on. It's like the episode was purposefully ignoring the various plot holes it was creating in favor of aura maxing.

I'm really disappointed in this episode. Going into today I thought it was a 9 and possibly a 10 despite some of my reservations, but after this I can't rate it higher than an 8. I was worried from the jump that they wouldn't sufficiently develop all the characters enough within only 24 episodes and my fears have come to pass. Dragon Boy, now X, and even Queen to an extent needed more time than was allowed in the show. Between that and the various plot issues they introduced in this episode and already happened in previous episodes this one fell short of it's full potential.

Hopefully season 2 addresses some of these issues, but the season needs to stand on it's own 2 feet against the expectations it set. You can't excuse it as something that will happen later when there's no source material holding them back from dealing with those problems right now. It's a cop out to say "wait for season 2" when sufficiently introducing us to the character's backgrounds was the entire stated goal of this season.

Really cool episode, but as a final episode? Idk. We got to see a cool fight sequence with X and learned about the "truth." I was really hoping to see more of what happened right after Moon's death, or even the top 10 heroes fighting each other. I thought next season was going to be more like a prequel or spin-off of the top 1 voted hero, but it seems it's going to be more a direct sequel/season 2. Was kind of hoping to see a conclusion in this episode. Oh well. Just means I get to see more of a series I like, in the future.

In the sneak peak of the next season at the end, X looks weaker? I'm guessing after he revealed his identity, his trust value goes down, because people are disappointed he's an ordinary office worker. Which makes sense, seeing how he's the protagonist of the next season, and there's no way they'd allow him to still be that OP.

X's powers are really ambiguous. Obviously there's the whole 2D/3D thing, but how does he spawn a black hole with a rainbow colored soda can? How did the heroes chase him into the 2D world? Maybe it's up to his interpretation/thoughts. Or he has so much trust that he can just do anything.

Started out great, got a bit boring/rocky near the middle, and started being really good again at the Johnny arc. Looking forward to the next season.

Anime of the year. Nothing like it. Nothing comparable to it. The intricacy of the story over the course of these 24 episodes. The absolute audacity to animate it one way, change the art style, and then flip things again, and to do it as creatively as they did. Aces!.
The 8-bit stuff in this one is legendary.
I love the story and was invested off the bat.

One of my favorite stories. My favorite donghua. And one of my favorite non-American animation experiences.

one thing I can agree with, it's Zero, the eyes say it. they're the same as Zero's eyes from E-Soul's PV.

about the Queen thing, idk about that. tbh, for me at least, it does not resemble Queen but it can be her like you're theorizing. either shape shifting or possession (since we don't know Zero's powers)

@Seansy i can answer the social media thing, FOMO can pretty much do a cover up of the whole thing because they are the social media people use in this universe, it wouldn't be the first time, but yea, unless they delete the files from people's phones and keep them shut it doesn't make much sense

but x wants to defy fate with his dimensional manipulating powers

x also always check the clock so really hinting that he can do things on the time dimension aka 4th dimension

@rizaldy1313 her powers is definitely related to god things since she uses tarot cards and my guess is that she was friends with the current x then become a villain or the tarot cards aka god things are the main villains

look at this screenshot where there are tarot cards also we see tarot cards on the op video song too

It seems like our assumption about X being just some bored office worker with overpowered abilities was wrong. He knows everything—he knows how rotten that world really is.

He brought Ahu/Tora along to explain everything about the problems and the lore of that world.
Everything feels like symbolism.
X even said: “Sorry, maybe it’s too hard for a dog to understand.”

Damn, it feels like he’s throwing shade at us for not understanding this anime.
And also mocking people who don’t like this anime. 🗿
