These are my thoughts during the episode. I haven’t done this in a while, but honestly, this is the best Dr. Stone has ever been. I did ask ChatGPT to rewrite this to make it easier to read, but its mostly exactly what I typed out during the episode.
After the last episode, I said that since the petrification beam already activated, Senku wouldn’t have a way to revive himself other than staying conscious for 3,700 years. This episode immediately proved me wrong. Apparently, Senku always keeps a bottle of revival fluid on him. He could have used it to revive himself, but he got shot, destroying the bottle—and with it, his chance to revive.
At the opening, it looks like everyone is going to be petrified for thousands of years again, which was my prediction going into this episode. I think the title, “Until We Meet Again,” aligns with that. This is something I’d love a good therapist to weigh in on—what does that do to a person mentally, knowing they need to stay conscious for thousands of years to ensure their revival?
I’m more emotional than usual today. I’m writing this the day after Charlie Kirk’s assassination and on the 24th anniversary of 9/11. It’s an emotional time—but Dr. Stone is really capturing the emotion of the story here. I haven’t felt this moved since the fight against Ibara.
Suika and Francois have a bottle of revival fluid. If they can get it, they might still have a chance—but if not, they could be petrified until the 95th century. I feel like they’re going to fail this time, because that would make the story more insane. But if they do survive, everything becomes easy: they could go to the moon and solve the mystery of the “Why Man.”
I think the “Why Man” could be some kind of super-intelligent AI since it replicated Senku’s voice. If no one survives the petrification this time, that’s a win for the Why Man, and it will come down to who revives first after thousands of years.
Also, it’s been a few years in-universe since season 1, yet Suika looks exactly the same.
4:28 mark:
NO NO NO NO. Zeno just had his people kill Ukyo, Francois, and Suika! What about the revival fluid? Is it destroyed, or will Xeno take it? Or is it too late to matter?
I’m hoping for a Why Man victory here. They’re showing all of this season’s cast, but I hope they show the villagers back in Japan too. The backup revival team—Luna and the new girl whose name I don’t remember—are petrified.
Update: Xeno doesn’t have the fluid. Suika took it. She’s running with it! Will she revive herself, someone else, or fail?
In 2023, I was talking to Bing AI, and I thought it gave me a Dr. Stone spoiler about Suika. I assumed it was wrong after season 3 ended—but maybe it’s actually happening now.
6:47 mark:
Suika got the revival fluid to Gen, and he’s putting it in the mechanism. Does this mean Senku is winning the battle? I’m actually rooting against Senku this time because the insanity of another Stone World reset would be incredible.
Senku is telling Suika to get under the tower. Does that mean she’ll be the one to revive? When will it happen, and what will she be able to do? Suika is making herself useful—woohoo! She just climbed like a cat.
It seems the mechanism is damaged and might eventually break, dropping the revival fluid on Suika. Stanley might try to stop this. I think Stanley is going to shoot the fluid to prevent anyone from reviving, giving Why Man a temporary victory.
Even if the top members of both groups die, humans would eventually revive and rebuild civilization. Maybe Why Man would petrify them again—but eventually, humanity would triumph. Defeating Why Man likely means going to the moon and disabling whatever it is. I imagine it’s a self-repairing, solar-powered AI on the moon.
I’m not sure what made Senku think to go to the moon—maybe the medusas falling from the sky?
Stanley didn’t shoot:
Suika will eventually be revived! But what can she do alone? She doesn’t have revival fluid, and she likely doesn’t know how to make more. She can barely survive by herself. Suika being the only survivor might be more dangerous than no one reviving.
Yes! They’re showing the villagers. It’s been so long since I’ve seen Kokuro—I couldn’t even remember his name a couple of days ago.
The petrification beam has covered the whole Earth. Everyone is petrified. I’m only 11 minutes into the episode, but I’ve already been watching for 43 minutes—this episode is that good. I have to pause to process everything.
I didn’t consider the pets—they’re so sad. All the villagers are petrified, leaving the pets alone. Now I really don’t want a 3,700-year petrification. Please let Suika revive immediately and go back to Japan to revive everyone.
Years pass, and the pets have grown up. A tiger is going to defeat the Why Man? Chalk is waiting for Suika. I didn’t know there were tigers in South America, but I guess they have to be somewhere.
Who saved the day? Thor or Zeus? Suika is revived, but now what? Clearly, years have passed, so I doubt any other bottles of revival fluid still exist. She’ll have to make more—but how?
Suika didn’t get petrified before, so her eyes weren’t healed. Are they healed now? She has clothes on, so what she was wearing inside the tower survived. But why aren’t her eyes healed—genetics maybe?
This is not good. A young girl is alone in South America and can barely see. She has a slim chance of reviving anyone, and now she’s climbing high places without any safety equipment. Suika was the wrong person for this task—if she didn’t get petrified, she could easily revive Senku, but now everyone is petrified, and she doesn’t have any fluid.
Suika is literally the only person on Earth right now. What would a therapist say about this?
Senku and Xeno are definitely counting the seconds right now.
You ain’t no shiny monkey, you’re a watermelon, bro—it’s not gonna work! You can’t become Senku.
Suika doesn’t have the repellent from the ants, which means she won’t survive the spiders. Apparently… Suika is a shiny monkey after all.
My thoughts after the episode (this part was not edited by ChatGPT):
Instead of a hard reset of the stone world, a soft reset happened. Suika is on her own replicating what Senku did all the way back in Season 1 Episode 1. It's going to be difficult but I think she will be able to get the job done and revive everyone. Though I think Suika surviving this doesn't really make sense. She doesn't have any of the protection needed to survive here as shown just 2 episodes ago. Suika surviving is pure luck. It would be more realistic for Senku to revive on his own in 3700 years and win that way. I'm predicting that the young science team will be revived by the end of the next episode, and then by the end of the episode after that everyone in Japan will be revived. Also even if they didn't have to resort to the why-man petrifying everyone, they would still have to petrify Japan. I believe the medusa was in California. That's closer to Japan than Araxa. I believe everyone will be able to be revived. The only one I'm worried about is Hyoga. Tsukasa said that Hyoga had perished already. I'm feeling so much emotion after this episode. It sucks having to wait a week for the next one. |
