A year's timeskip to see Inori passing Level 5, she has progressed quite a lot. And only one more to go before she can reach Level 6, the All-Japans level where Hikaru is at.

With much difficult moves to execute like the Axel, Tsukasa is focusing much on the progress as well. But to find himself facing the silver Olympian medalist Shinichiro Sonidori and his son Rioh wanting to train under his tutelage, it feels like a wave of big expectations that he wasn't expecting to accept, not after the pressure of the father bowing down to Tsukasa for his remedy help.

With Rioh joining Inori and Sota to pass the Level Six Badge test, Tsukasa couldn't have asked for a better reference, though being the mega fan that he is, as compared to Jun Yodaka training Hikaru to inhumane levels that are out of anyone's reach. But it soon becomes clear that Rioh only knows how to make enemies in the midst of his own failings, and just like Tsukasa, Inori giving her utmost confidence to prove him wrong (and for sure she will), he supports every endeavour she has going for it, startng with the training campf or the All-Japans Novice Cup.

Man, is Rioh insufferable, or just a case of jealousy because he doesn't to accept reality?

A whole year has passed just like that, and in that time, our little Inori has grown so much—well, not physically, but in her ice skating skills.

Riou joins her, and tensions rise between them. I hope they can make up, and Riou can see Tsukasa for who he truly is, rather than lumping him in with all the other adults he distrusts.

Lol I love the small beef between Riou and Inori, well now she's motivated as always, and she can do the trick on the ground, now it's time to learn it on ice :D

One of the few times I am actual okay with a big time jump in an anime, Inori is doing quite well to advance that many levels in a years time.

Bro WTF I just got whiplash- but some freaking damn GOOD whiplash. Thought we were going to take a short break, enter somewhat of a lull while Inori healed up... BUT NAH FK THAT SHT WE GONNA KEEP GOING BABY. Injury? GONE. We're already back in the game. All gas no brakes baby ain't nobody got time for downtime. A year has passed, which is quite a bit, but still- LEVEL 5??!! On the verge of being able to actually compete with Hikaru??!! I thought Hikaru was just a dream over the distant horizon.... but Inori locked in for a year post-injury and now Hikaru is right around the corner. Bro's hacking, she levelled up way too fast- but I'm not complaining. MAYBE the anime chose to skip over a lot of content to get down to brass tacks, and maybe perhaps a lot of skipped good stuff. But I don't REALLY care, can just read the manga to get filled in. Important thing is that the anime is on fire and showing no signs of slowing down. Idk if most people like this time skip or not, but I'll just say right now I love how it's just going full steam ahead to see what we want to see.

Ok enough rambling about the same thing over and over again, we must address the 2nd most important aspect of this episode and that is Riou. Bro's still a stuck-up brat but at least now we got SOME understanding as maybe to why that is. We have some idea, but it's still not 100% clear as day as to what the drama and history is surrounding him, his father, and Jun and Hikaru. One thing that we probably can take away is that Hikaru is probably as good as she is by being drilled hard by Jun, who despite being a gold medalist, clearly has pain in his past that he's trying to cope with. Riou no doubt sees that and wants Jun to lay his hands off Hikaru. Idk what's up with his dad but I'm sure we'll get answers soon.

Anyway, we see that Inori has really levelled up- and not just her skating. She went toe-to-toe with Riou in a heated argument and stood her ground. She's come a long way from being taken down quite easily by "ugly shrimp". At the rate she's going, she's going to surpass blond brat easily and start contending with the best.
