You know, I’m starting to get why Futaba calls this dude a rascal so much. This guy can’t even remember such an important moment between him and Ikumi to save, well I guess her life in this situation. Like, it had to be something very important if Ikumi remembers it. No way we’re drawing blanks here, my rascal lol. Seriously though, I didn’t expect those attacks to be connected to an ex of all things, that’s for sure. Makes it all the more weird. Btw, I find it funny that by this point, the girls don’t even think it’s strange how Sakuta just figures out all this info out of nowhere. Like, seriously, they don’t even question it anymore, lmaoo. But yeah, I was wondering when this whole “other world” thing from the last movie would come back, and it looks like it’s finally playing a role here at last. Hell, it’s gotten so serious this time that even our resident Santa Claus has come out to play... Well, just came and dropped little hints, but hey, better than nothing, I guess. Really liked that scene of Mai meeting Sakuta's parents there at the end. Was about damn time not only that happened, but we ourselves finally meet Sakuta's parents as well lols. |

Looks like he is on to something but Akagi is making things hard. She doesn't seem to want others involved tho i can't really blame her. Mai being supportive of the main is nice. |

Man I feel so bad for Akagi having to hold onto these feelings for so long and then the guy she’s been in love with since middle school shows back up to help her solve them, while only making her fall for him all over again. That’s so rough. I’m a sucker for smart girls in glasses with natural voices in anime like her too so this is a painful arc rn lol. Another cliffhanger ending for us this week tho, if Sakuta didn’t write that in the journal, who did? And what is he not remembering about Akagi? It has to be something so important to her that her entire life since middle school has essentially been built upon it. We also still know next to nothing about Santa’s backstory. Lot of mystery left in this season. Mai meeting Sakuta parents again was really cute! Learning seasoning techniques from your future mother in law is adorable. |

9:00 Futaba interrogating Sakuta about helping Akagi change clothes 🤣🤐 Akagi used to like Sakuta maybe? 👀 This was such a good episode tho. I love how many girls Sakuta talks to each episode 🤣 each girl getting their screen time |

I'm starting to get invested again. All this stuff about Akagi just keeps getting more and more interesting and keeps making me make theories about her. Akagi is hiding so much stuff but shes just not telling Sakuta or anyone. Miniskirt appearing again was great, but we din't get much information from her besides that she has something to do with Akagi. 5/5 |

Rio's long pauses of disapproval over hints of Sakuta's disloyalty are something I'll never get tired of. The thought behind giving Koga a little something for (practically) getting into college was genuinely really sweet of Sakuta too. |

Now the plot is really thickening with Akagi, so this puberty syndrome is heavily related to Sakuta, and it’s looking like it’s because Akagi regrets not being able to save Sakuta back in middle school, that’s nice and all but my first thought regarding this, paired with how she’s been about the whole DREAMING thing, is that she seems to have a bit of a hero complex, I guess the arc being called Nightingale makes more sense now, besides the nurse thing lol. There was also the stuff with Akagi’s ex boyfriend, a shame they had a falling out because of one bad moment but I’m wondering if there’s more than meets the eye there, maybe mister boyfriend will become relevant in how this situation gets solved. But there is a big problem, and it’s that Sakuta can’t seem to remember something Akagi really wants him to, and if he remembers, the “poltergeist” will be over with, this is interesting and all but if it’s something that important, then how did our boy forget? Maybe it’s something that seemed like nothing to him, but meant a lot more to Akagi, but I’m sure that’ll be revealed soon enough. But then the end of the episode added yet another layer to mystery, so Akagi lied about what Sakuta wrote in the yearbook, and it just so happens to be what Shoko said to Sakuta when he was at his lowest, but what does that mean? Is Akagi being possessed by that version of Shoko or something? My brain is about to split apart but it sure is an intriguing situation lol. I also liked the bits with the other girls in this one, especially Tomoe’s and Futaba’s, man I sure would love a new pair of earbuds myself lol. And Mai’s moment at Sakuta’s parents’ place was nice too, she was in full wife mode there. And lastly, Santa/Touko was a bit saucy here wasn’t she lol, I liked that, it makes her seem a bit more like a villain, now if only Sakuta had photographic memory so he could have gotten her number. |

Futaba's student is really eyeing for her lol He wants to go the university that his sensei studies and uses her help to achieve that. I wonder if Futaba really knows his motives. Sakuta kinda knows, I guess. We got to know more of Ikumi this episode. She really had a hard life. What the boyfriend did was so bad. Sakuta helping Ikumi change and proudly bragging about it infront of Futaba, haha. She should definitely tell Mai about this. And what was that ending !? How does Akagi knows about what Sakuta wrote in the diary which even Sakuta doesn't remember writing !? |

This was perhaps the best episode of the season so far. The mood, the atmosphere, all serious from start to the end, it was awesome. This arc should have been the first arc of this new college season, since its a perfect sequel to movie 03. And that voice of Santa girl is really captivating. That voice actress really brought out her A-Game for this role. All voice actors are fantastic, but you can really sense an extra-boost to the Santa girl voice Last time I can recall an extra-boost to a character's voice (in a non-extra cringy-way) is from Rent-A-Girlfriend, with the voice/voice actress of Mami. Anywho, I still feel like this Ikumi arc would have been better off in the first season, and not now, when the male MC and all his loved ones have solved all their past-problems and have moved on with their lives. I mean, Ikumi, you were not involved in the Sakuta middle school issue and there was really nothing that you could have done to help him (I guess maybe talk to him like older-Shoko did at the beach), and you did not make his situation worse, so its kinda odd that now 3-to-4 years later, shes still beating herself from not playing hero back then when she was like 13-14. Keep in mind that she was like 13-14 when that happened and shes now almost 20. Its one thing if she feels "shame" when seeing Sakuta now in college that she feels horrible, but shes been feeling horrible ever since her middle-school years ended, even without seeing Sakuta for 3 years before they met again in college. |

Futaba giving Sakuta the look of disapproval when he told her about Akagi's scars on her back made me burst out laughing more than I should've done. XD Aside from that moment, this episode was full on serious about Akagi. I get the impression that she goes out and helps those who post the DREAMING messages stems back to the fact that she couldn't save Sakuta during the issues that he had back in middle school. Not only that, but knowing more about Akagi from other who know her, like her ex-boyfriend, as well as rumours about her does make me more worried about what Akagi is doing. Then we got to see Sakuta's middle school graduation album which contains a message that he "wrote" which he had no recollection of ever doing. Akagi told him a lie, if that's the case. Either way, I don't see this particular arc ending on a quite note, especially with the middle school class reunion that she's planning on going to that's fast approaching. Overall, this was a fascinating episode. Hopefully Sakuta will be at his best when the time is right in order to help Akagi. |

dam, i think the nursing-student from his middle-school days is becoming even more complex than any of the girls' cases previously. even more complex than Shouko's multiple-universe time-travel dreams. which even to this day doesn't exactly make sense to me no matter how many times i've re-watched it both in English and Japanese. plus adding in Mini-Skirt Santa Claus?!? this one is making me go crosseyed trying to figure it out... and i'm getting nowhere. |

This anime just got a whole lot more confusing. It seems like Ikumi still has her memories from the alternate timeline shown in Knapsack Kid, with Sakuta's middle school yearbook quote being different from what she mentioned. Of course, he never remembered Shoko in the current timeline until the end of Dreaming Girl, so it'd be impossible for him to have written down her words years beforehand. If I remember right, that AU was essentially an "ideal world" for Sakuta where he resolved Kaede's Puberty Syndrome by himself, so his family didn't end up falling apart. That happy ending likely has something to do with why Ikumi apparently fell in love with Sakuta, and also why she followed him to the same high school despite having much better grades. On a related note, it was nice to see Sakuta's family again and having a nice interaction with Mai. I'm also glad the previous arc's heroines still regularly appear despite not being the focus anymore. P.S. This is just my interpretation using very limited intelligence, so please let me know if I'm mistaken about anything. |

Looks like the different timeline stuff from the movies is going to play a big role in the next episode or so, since it seems like Ikumi remembers either the timeline where she and Sakuta went to the same high school or the one where he met Shoko in middle school(these may be same timelines I'm not 100%). Also the Futaba scene had me dying. |

@TheColonel76 "Santa/Touko was a bit saucy here wasn’t she lol, I liked that, it makes her seem a bit more like a villain, now if only Sakuta had photographic memory so he could have gotten her number" This is why I wanted this new season to focus solely first on Ikumi Akagi since its a sequel to movie-03, AND then Santa girl arc since Santa girl seems like a fun girl and arc to follow around. I honestly wish that the Uzuki arc (despite me loving Uzuki and her group Sweet Bullet) would not take up episodes (even though I loved her serious personality when she was able to read the room). And I dont think im gonna like the Sara arc (which is the next arc after Ikumi) since I dont think that we the audience will be too invested in a first-year-high-schooler at this point in the anime, with her high school classmates im assuming, especially after this interesting Ikumi arc and with us wanting Santa girl arc already. And if both the Uzuki arc and the Sara arc never existed, then maybe they could have fit Miori's arc/finale into this college season, and not have to wait for a concluding movie for the Miori arc/finale sometime I assume in 2026 |

Always amazes me everytime how much connections Sakuta has, half of the episode he's just talking to different people, sweet how he gave Koga a little gift, he's good at looking after others. And he still comes back to Futaba everytime for consultation haha. So in the end Akagi wasn't able to do anything back in middle school, and that she regrets that she wasn't able to help Sakuta back then, now she's helping others because in a way, it also saves herself. Akagi's whole relationship with Sakuta makes me think that "Oh she could have been THE Shoko-san for Sakuta". It seems like Akagi have memories of the other timeline? Because what she told Sakuta about what he wrote in the graduation album is totally different, what she told Sakuta was Shoko-san's ideals and that wasn't what Sakuta wrote about. Now it's kinda making sense why Mai-chan appeared during the halloween episode, because she's like some kind of a guide to the whole timeline thing. Santa-san is back and acting like the villain she is, she's so playful lol Sakuta and Mai with his parents waaa I love seeing a happy Azusagawa Family. |

If there is one eye-sore about this season, especially this episode, is how Sakuta always conveniently runs into a character at the most random places, and then that character has important information to tell Sakuta and then that character conveniently infodumps everything. Its surreal. Like in this episode, Sakuta ran into the friend of Kaede (the glasses girl), and she also saw Ikumi. And conveniently, she knows Ikumi and then she infodumps to Sakuta important stuff And then Sakuta conveniently runs into Kaedes counselor, and then the counselor conveniently knows Ikumi as well, and then the counselor infodumps to Sakuta important stuff And then Sakuta conveniently runs into Ikumi's exboyfriend, and then the exboyfriend infodumps to Sakuta important stuff. Sakuta ran into Santa girl on a Saturday when he was at a lost, and he got her number (I think) When Sakuta went back home, his dad still had Sakuta's middle school yearbook after a moving worker said to not throw that out. I mean, why would Sakuta want to keep his middle-school year book after all the bad memories in his final year anywho This also happened alot in the first arc with Uzuki Its like everything just conveniently falls into Sakuta's lap this season So in this season: 1- They removed a notable male friend for Sakuta like he had in Kunimi (and I dont count Takumi as one). I dont mind if a male MC never has a notable male friend, but it is noticeable if he had one before and now he doesnt have one, ESPECIALLY in a harem/pseudo-harem anime 2- They have removed the buzz-personality that Sakuta had in season 01; I guess they did this to make him appear like he has matured and grown since high school ended. 3- Everything just conveniently falls on his lap. He on his own doesnt have to do anything, but just walk around and wait until the right person shows up to infodump |

Loved the stare that Futaba gave Sakuta after he told her about the scars on Akagi's shoulder blades, he's really struggling to beat these rascal allegations lol. Looks like Akagi's case is tied to not being able to save Sakuta back in middle school and how he's also not able to remember something that seems important to her. So surely he'll remember what it was before she's able to forget about him right? Also Akagi had writing on her this time during one of her poltergeist episodes, so hopeuflly we'll learn more about that next episode. She apparently also dreamt of getting arrested on the day of their middle school reunion. So it seems like Sakuta might be going in order to insure that doesn't happen to her. It seems like that "ideal world" from Dreaming Girl is being brought up again with Sakuta's middle school yearbook not having what Akagi told him that he had written down in his graduation essay. So I guess some of her memories from that world may have mixed into this one? Hoping to see more of that next episode. Also loved Mai and Saktua going to his parents house, and wanting to see learn Sakuta's mom seasons their food lol. Mai and Sakuta's relationship this season has been giving off longtime couple vibes and I'm all for it. Overall, this episode confused the hell outta me at points but I still loved it. Guessing the next episode will be the end of the Akagi arc which I've been loving, so I'm excited to see how it concludes. |

@ShiroAlex When I said season 01, I also meant the three movies after season 01, since they are basically part of season 01 (Sakuta's second year in high school / Mai's third final year of high school / Kaede's final year of middle school). But my points above still stand. Bottom line, Sakuta is no longer a...... Rascal |

In this weeks episode, there were some elements that convinced again. First, the quite deeper talk between Sakuta and Akagi showed that there is much more in their past, which which can be attributed to the puperty syndrome. Meanwhile, the further course of the episode remains exciting as Sakuta deals with his past and Akagi tries to forget him. Second, I really loved the moment when Mai-san appeared after "santa claus" showed up again and tired to confuse Sakuta. When both visited Sakuta's parents, it was heartwarming to see both of them happy again. Furthermore, Sakuta was able to work through part of his memory thanks to his father. As he read the text by Akagi and himself, he noticed the words of Shouko-san, which he should not have known. Considering this version of the story, it was a great flashback to earlier storylines. Also, the episode ends here with a cliffhanger, so let's see what comes in the final part of this "Nigthingale Arc"... |

have a question ik the laws of physics in this show don't apply exactly like they should because it's just a show but still I have a doubt so, basically at the end of the first movie we were explained that the timeline had split when shoko had changed the past and where in one timeline shoko and everyone was alive (which is the current timeline) and one where shoko dies. so now in the recent arc it is showed to us that akagi comes from the universe where shoko dies (as there the events where shoko meets sakuta when her sister gets puberty syndrome take place so it is understood that she had later died there in accident after first movie events) now as we saw in last ep sakuta is warned by sakuta from the universe that he needs to find touko kerishima because mai san is in danger but touko should not exist in that universe as we saw in first ep of s2 where shoko asks sakuta about toko kerishima and that she has not seen her in any other futures that means she should not be exist in the other universe (where sakuta got warning from). I am just asking for a logical explanation? |

Sakuta, how lucky! And by the way, he told Fuutaba what happened, haha. Mai visiting her boyfriend's parents. |

Considering how smart and analytical Futaba is, the fact of her not realizing that basketball kid is applying to her college because he likes her is lowkey funny. Another narratively engaging episode. Ikumi's character is getting more and more complex with each new piece of information about her and gotta say I really like that. Her having an older/adult boyfriend during high-school did surprise me tho, ngl. And oh boy, here comes more shenanigans related to intertwined timelines. Guess now that explains Smol Mai-san briefly appearing during the Halloween episode. |

This episode feels better. It was revealed that what happened to Akagi is connected to his guilt toward Sakuta for not being able to help him back in middle school. Akagi also got dumped by his girlfriend, even though he supported her well, even during difficult times. There was also a sweet scene when Sakuta and Mai visited Sakuta’s parents’ house. Then Mai helped Sakuta’s mother with the cooking. Sakuta’s parents told Mai that they were happy to meet her again. But I don’t remember in Season 1, or in Movie 1, 2, or 3, that Mai ever met Sakuta’s parents. Did I miss something? When did that meeting happen? |

I was right on the money with Ikumi being affected deeply by not being able to help Sakuta when he was in need. Still, I wonder why she remembers Sakuta's middle school letter so differently from what it actually is. If that is the case, then it might be similar to Sakuta's experience with the Knapsack Kid. |
