This whole time we’ve heard it from Raido’s perspective, kind of want another season where it’s from her perspective, because that was interesting to hear how she felt in their first interaction.

considering where season 1 started, as oddball hit or miss comedy with not always funny delusions of the male protagonist.
season 2 was a big leap, I loved the songs, the romance, the friendship, Tamanaha as cutest insecure teenager, the small story progress,

This last episode did everything I could have asked for, marriage, grandma Aharen san, Raido in space was unnecessary, but ok.

It didn't have the char, of S1 but this finale episode nailed it! Too few romance anime show the good stuff afterwards and I'm so glad this went for this. A bit of Aharen-san's perspective in the end was a nice touch, but especially more so with that first interaction. We need more of that, lol.

Thanks for the journey and I definitely had more than my fair share of fun!

In the ocean of romcoms getting partially adapted just to promote the source material and never concluding, I'm elated this one chose to wrap up its tale as well.

As a story-that-ends enjoyer, this show gets full marks for me. I'm glad I picked this anime up randomly years ago after randomly stumbling across its manga.

I'm not crying... who am I kidding, I'm crying. It's impossible not to with such a beautiful ending.

Ishikawa proposing to Satou, Ooshiro fulfilling his promise to do Reina's hair for their wedding, and Raido and Reina's wedding, one of the prettiest I've ever seen. True love really won today.

There was a big time jump, of course, but having followed this story from the beginning and now seeing how they got married, how they had a granddaughter... it made me cry, but they were tears of pure joy. For a moment I thought Raido had passed away, but no, he was just on Mars, pursuing his dream while still watching over Reina from the sky.

Without a doubt, one of the best romantic comedy endings I've ever seen, and one of the most unforgettable couples.

I think the first season is overall funnier but this last episode was very good and quite emotional. I really do love the coming of age stories and even for how over the top this show is this episodes emotions felt so real.

wow no wonder it didn't feel right, the time skip was so rushed and random
@MomoSinX I thought the whole point of the anime was to be awkward and indecipherable though. Maybe that was just me.

Nice wrap-up for the anime adaptation.
This really was a very cute franchise and series all in all. The source manga also concluded in the year 2023 and it really was surprising that bilibili still managed to push through with making a 2nd season for this but it is always nice to see anime franchises conclude well.

Aoi Yuuki being hired only to specifically voice a character named Madoka? Man, I swear this show's references never cease to amaze me.
Also lol at Reina still looking young despite being a grandma. And damn, grandpa Raidou sure was rocking that mustache, huh?

Epilogue-like finale to conclude this second and most likely final season of Aharen-san. Overall, it was a nice way to wrap things up though I would say the part with Ishikawa proposing marriage to Satou did feel pretty random. Good for them tho.
Also, the part at the end with the story going "full-circle" and returning to the starting point with Reina meeting Raidou for the first time but from her POV was undoubtedly beautiful. Excellent decision from the director!

So, yeah. All in all, it was another lovely season and I would say I enjoyed it even more than S1. The occasional emotional scenes were handled nicely, I absolutely loved the addition of Riku to the cast, references to other anime/games remained as solid as the ones from S1, same for the comedy aspect and so on. Definitely a show I will remember fondly for years to come.

A weird end.. Extra score because it got proper ending, really rare to see anime with proper ending nowadays.

Aharen and Raido are already grandparents but they don't look that old. Where's their kid? Why only show the grandson?

Pretty rushed ending with time jumping here and there.

Overall just okay. Repeating same jokes is okay but need more variety so it doesn't become boring.

SenseiSempai-san said:
The final episode of the season. We see that Raido becoming a property inspector as well as a student teacher after high school. He and Aharen got married and started a family.

Property inspector is just a movie lol. You can see the black bar and poster behind Aharen. Now he's a novelist on the moon, who knows how many jobs he also did before this lol.
@LeonLanford Pretty weird for an ending that's for sure. Still a happy ending of sort.

Wow this was absolute garbage.

One of my favorite anime of the last few years goes out with a completely trash final episode -- with everything rushed and half the manga still missing. Will just pretend this junk never existed.

Could you please share what the anime skipped compared to the manga? Will there be a post-graduation arc or something similar? Also, what happened to the gyaru girl at the end? I didn’t see her.

I definitely didn’t expect such a powerful episode. Honestly, I thought this would be the kind of anime that either goes on for four more seasons with a new adventure in each episode, or just ends with their graduation from school or something, but wow.

I didn’t see that “Giji Harem”-style ending coming, but I loved it. So, Shota & Reina finally got married, and Ishikawa & Hanako tied the knot too. I’m bit confused about what Shota does now, the guy went from being a teacher to a property inspector to an astronaut?

That aside, I was kind of shocked that they showed us their grandkids without even showing us their kids first, haha. Also, it was a little sad that Riku was the only one left out, since we didn’t get to see what she did or became after school. Same for Shota's little sister too, since she suddenly vanished. Nevertheless, I really loved the ending, it was a really fun ride.

Huh... so they did a huge time skip...

We didn't get to watch the full high school life, and possibly college/ university life... and went straight to married life with kid... LOL

(also, they literally didn't age, exact same appearances, unless Raidou somehow became a Teacher right after High school... cause people will still undergo some physical changes during college/ university, especially males)

Also... Raidou and Aharen... apparently went their separate ways after highschool... meaning they didn't become a real boy/girl-friend after leaving highschool... why? with some random reason for drama purposes... cause you would think they stay together afterwards with what they've shown how well their school life is.

(They didn't even kept contact or talked to each other for years til they met each other at the old school again)

.

Well, I guess this is the "End-End"... since they did this time-skip, it means they probably won't return and do anymore sequels for the rest of their school life...

Some stuff are still out... mainly about some characters, they literally just ignored at the every end, lol, no one knows what happened to some of the friends.

(especially with the "wedding"... literally only have people from the old school, what? they didn't make anymore new friends after high-school? didn't talk to anyone else? lol)

.

TBH, it feels like episode 11 should have been kept as the "last episode", it felt nicer.

A lot more than this apparently time-skip "flashback" episode... since the timeskip is more or less... 30~40+ years, considering that little kid is their "grand-child", so 2 generations time-skip + flashback.

But I guess they wanted a closure, as episode 11 would have kept it open-ended with possible more sequels. But it looked like they wanted to make this series with a full end with no possibility of any sequels.

.

Overall, I don't really like this "final episode" for the series...

___ ___ ___

Also the grandkid is talking about Raido like he's dead? How has she not seen him her whole life?

Dude apparently somehow joined into a cosmonaut mission and trained for 10 years or so til he was finally send into space.

This means dude... hasn't contact or meet Aharen, their children, and grand children for at least 10 years... why? no one knows... is this like some sort of top secret cosmonaut mission? lol...

(They also somewhat hinted, this was a "Mars mission"? with the "red planet", the "Mars book"... so in a way... you can technically call Raidou "dead"... as a Mars return trip is rare with the planet having very little resources to use as fuel. Not to mention a trip to Mars with current tech (if manned) would take 2-3+ years, that means a round trip would be 4-6+ years, assuming nothing goes wrong, including blowing up like Elon's Starship, LOOOL) (with 4-6+ years of flying trip... counting in how long they plan to stay on the planet... possibly 1-3 more years if not longer... as they would want to maximize the amount of time spend researching on the planet instead of constantly having to use bunch of fuels for round trips.)

So, is no one going to talk about the ring on Ooshiro Mitsuki's finger? Does the manga elaborate on who she is married to, and what about Tamanaha Riku's life?

Others have pointed it out already, but I also think this felt rushed. Not the worst ending I have seen, but it could definitely be better.

I was planning to give this season a 10/10 up until that Ishikawa x Satou moment - what the hell? Bi rep is great, but we never saw any indication that Ishikawa liked Satou back (even SHE thought it was a joke) – it honestly comes across as "well Raido's getting married, effectively taking him off the market, so I might as well marry Satou since she wants that!"

With how strong Satou's feelings for Ishikawa are, it feels wrong for him to randomly propose out of nowhere (were they even dating? it didn't seem like it lmao)

It would have been a healthier resolution to show that they both were able to move on from unrequited crushes and find true happiness with people they met in the future. Choosing to go this route was definitely a choice.....it soured what was otherwise a really cute ending. (It also didn't make sense to have a scene with just the two of them placed into an episode which was supposed to be Reina reminiscing and sharing stories with her grandchild - if they didn't include it, it would have been better off.)

Rewatched with the Dub.

Goodbye and Godspeed, Reina and Matsuboshi. I would bless you, but it would be entirely superfluous. You have your own good fortunes and realized dreams by yourselves, by your will and effort, with just a little help from your friends. But, you were mostly their support, not they, yours. It hard hard to recall a better example in anime of continue moving forward in life and love, one foot after the other.

Ave atque vale.

This was such a great show. Even in the future, Raido, Aharen, and everyone else are still living their best lives and pursuing their dreams. It was very sweet of the series to show us their marriage ceremony and grandkid!

Tobaru and Henzan will have to watch out for a new generation of esteem with Futaba and Akkun. Also Sato and Ishikawa got together too! That's a nice turn of events there.

I'm glad a clip of season 1 was posted to this reddit, if I hadn't seen it. I would have never known what I was missing out on watching. Raido's overactive imagination was immensely entertaining, and his dynamic with Aharen and friends made for a wholesome watch.

Seeing their first meeting again from Aharen's perspective and watching her open up to him was a cool note to end on. The feelings she felt then were only strengthened and never went away.

This felt pretty forced. The sentiment of this final episode is nice and all, but it's so ridiculously rushed that it doesn't really land. And it even more doesn't land because this whole season, their relationship has been no different to before they started going out. They could have skipped like half the episodes this season to give more focus to the romance side of things, rather than shoving multiple episodes of huge developments into a single episode.

Other than this finale, this second season has overall been a step down from season 1, which in itself wasn't anything special. This certainly is one of the most mid romcoms of all time.

Aharen didn't biologically age one jot after the timeskip. Plenty of women would be envious of her, no doubt.

Speaking of timeskips, it was somewhat surprising in general, for the anime series to wrap up so quickly. Thought there was more potential for the well-timed and chill humour of the first season.

"Oh wow—Raido, now an average property inspector, facing off against a rather villainous surveyor? Never thought I'd see the day!"

It’s a bittersweet time skip into the future—Raido and Aharen in their elderly years, where youthful school memories have given way to adulthood, responsibilities, and their gang walking their own unique paths. Futaba and Akkun, now under Tobaru-sensei’s watchful eye as her latest “couple challenge,” keep the spirit of high school romance alive. Henzan, now a full-fledged teacher five years after graduating, stands proud of the person he’s become. And Aharen—after chasing her dreams—returns to teach art, her passion finally realized.

The flashback to their high school graduation was especially heartfelt. Raido, ever the sincere soul, sent handwritten letters to his friends as a gesture of thanks. But it was Aharen’s reply—where she broke off their relationship to pursue her dream in art—that really hit hard. The pain of that decision, the regret, the quiet longing—they were real. But so was Raido’s resolve to bridge that distance between them. And when they finally reunite to marry, it feels earned, beautiful, and deeply fulfilling.

The fact that Hanako and Ishikawa ended up planning their wedding was a charming twist—but the real surprise? They ended up getting engaged too, stealing a bit of the spotlight from the main couple in the best way possible.

Watching Raido become everything he aspired to be, with Aharen always quietly supporting him—it's a powerful arc. From the moment she awkwardly chugged down that drink and he simply talked to her, their bond grew, little by little. Small moments, small gestures—those turned into love.

OOH LALA—this ending was better than I ever expected! A quiet but heartfelt finale that closes the story with grace and warmth.

Score: 8/10 on MAL.

NOOOOOOOO I HATE TIME SKIPS
I HATE CHANGE
I HATE THE PASSGE OF TIME
KIDS, MARRIAGES, AGING 😭😭😭

Im honestly a bit like the teachers and getting hit by stuff like this takes a toll, i even delayed watching this show when i knew it was the final season, but im hit with closure, like definitive closure like that?

I GOTTA TAKE IT EVEN IN FICTION?
THATS CRAZY 😭😭😭

(also Ishikawa ending with Sato simply did not sit well with me, he had a clear crush on Raido wich he gave up on for his sake, thats no headcanon, that was obvious as hell "i cant tell you why i dont like you" "dont joke about getting married ik you're..." . yes we can write him off as bi but still ending up with THE girl he rejected 2 eps before feels so wrong, like "oh welp lets not end this show alone so make them date to wrap it up" and it felt like a lavender marriage 💀💀💀 id rather see them in their older versions with dif partners (regardless of gender) at least imo that would make more sense)
