So they decided to focus more on Lilia and Xyrus Academy.

Arthur definitely shows more maturity here with his character growth and experience. Lilia's parents kinda reminds me of Arthur's. But yeah, Arthur knows how to play the good side here. He's more clever than I had thought.

Those Xyrus Academy students really are the worst. They are treated like royalty for being in the academy, yet they go around treating others badly and have objections if someone enters through money. And those beast cores are really, really expensive. To think one could live off that kind of money for 250 years far away from the capital is insane.

Finally, the insecurities and expectations that Lilia carried and suffered from were taken care of, and after two to three years, she’ll be able to work with magic better with due time.

Why, oh why, aren't they just following the source manga? This anime has taken out the best emotional parts of the story and replaced it with garbage.

This is the most depressing episode (in quality), like the voice actors worked hard but the animation in the tense and emotional scenes was just terrible.

I guess it's time for me to continue the Farm-Related Skill anime.

I feel like half an episode would have been enough for Lilia, even in the manhwa it was a pretty fast part without losing the content,

I'm guessing with this pace the season will end

Excellent episode ๐Ÿ‘. At this point I don’t give a shit about the source material. I’m 98% anime-only and I’m enjoying THE ANIME. I’ll probably buy the series after the season and start reading it like I did SL.

Adorable episode! I'm really glad that both Eleanor and Lilia have a talent for magic, especially since Lilia was so down about it, while Eleanor is Arthur's talented little sister, haha.

That aside, I don’t even know why I’m shipping Arthur and Lilia so hard. I mean, Tessia is probably the main love interest, especially since she’s listed as a main character, whereas Lilia is marked as a supporting one. Still, I can’t help it, they’re just so cute together!

This was the episode I had the hardest time digesting. Honestly, I found it lacking in emotion. And to top it off, I just found out that it wasn't even in the manhwa, they add drama that conveys nothing. Key moments that should have been explained, such as how Arthur managed to awaken his Lilia's mana, have been completely omitted. I had to look up the manhwa to understand something that should have been made clear from the beginning. I'm just starting to read the manhwa and this adaptation is very bad.

he got a haircut. ITS PRACTICALLY THE SAME lol. too lazy to design a relative character change. I think im pretty done with this, by far one of the worst generic anime I've seen. Which is saying something as I've watched a lot of generic trash lol.

It's limp, the interest is non-existent, it's not at all faithful to the original work, we really wonder why an adaptation was made if it's to release such a turd.

Lilila's parents' intention was good, but they were too unaware of how much their dream of having a sorcerer in their family impacted their daughter who struggled to awaken her power. And them brandishing about their family donating tons at the academy makes them no different from those students who thinks they lord over the city coz they are academy students.

anyway, i wonder if that guy in the end there is bad news or what.

I really thought that Arthur had actually sent Lilia to the forest to train or something, and had just like abandoned that family's daughter until she came out again ๐Ÿ˜…

It ended in more of an "expected" kind of way (in that I feel like people probably were expecting Arthur to just 'activate' their magic somehow - or I certainly was anyway ๐Ÿ˜ฌ).

I'm enjoying this show though anyway, and I like the inner monologue of the MC, and that they're older and able to reason and process about things without being creepy (which is a refreshing change of pace).

@jmonty909 is the source significantly better then/would you recommend it?

I'm guessing you would from your comment (so I'll maybe check it out!), but also from looking at these comments it seems that I'm in the minority where I felt that this episode was kind of nice still.

The Helsteas really earning their keep with their auction house, and Arthur is dressed to the nines being shown around the flying city of Xyrus with their accompaniment. However, it's a store selling beast mana cores that capture Arthur's attention, though the curent one that he has is good enough, while it's still a no-no for Lilia. However, the desperation on her face says it all that she wants a beast core that badly (though buying one will set one back 250 years' worth of wages), and almost getting into an altercation with students from the Academy draws a problem in the Helstea family that she isn't favoured by her family at all.

Lilia's lament only makes Arthur's reproach recluse all the more, yet the two could not have been similar in their own circumstances. Especially Lilia who has yet to have an awakening of her powers as a sorcerer, and Arthur taking matters into his own hands to quicken the process instead of having to await permission from her parents (which will unlikely ever come), it's the social pressure that undoubtedly casts fear and doubt onto her for the Helsteas to apologize for their haste.

Well, at the very least, Lilia's pressure is finally taken off of her, and she can worry no more about her future prospects.
Still, trouble is incoming to the auction house...

Lilia just learned new things, maybe she will be able to use strong elements after all.
Arthur was a big help for her.

I wonder what’s going on into the auction house, maybe something important will take place.

The progression per episode has been rather appalling, and the voice acting was God awful in this particular episode. It's upsetting how crap this is turning out to be because I find the setting and ideas appealing despite being another drop in the ocean of isekai series. Maybe I should have known better when I read the name Turtleme that this was probably not going to be a stellar piece of work. When I read a stupid name like that or my username as another example, my brain goes straight to cringe fan fiction. I wanted this to be good. I really did.

This season has been such a content drought. I want a fantasy setting similar to this or Teogonia to not suck, but they're both just so poorly put together. I'm only ever looking forward to watching Fire Force and The Apothecary Diaries. Everything else is subpar, fruity, or not up my alley. I'm still watching a lot of them, but I don't really like any of it. I was so spoiled that one fall or winter season a couple of years back when there was something awesome every day. We need another one of those. This summer might be good, but we still have a month of meh to go.

The story is great with some amazing moments, but the animation and visual were depressing, I fell sick watching it, but overall, I enjoyed it, I would give it a 4/5.

Honestly a really good episode, the va's kind of suck though I can't lie. Not sure if it's because the visuals are showing the right emotions, or if the va's aren't really trying.

I did enjoy seeing this new area, great character building for Lilia. It just sucks seeing this trash animation on a good story, because you can really see how amazingly it'd have looked if a better one was on it

@portajohn the problem is with the animation studio not the writer, because the anime refuses to capture the depth of the story and emotions contained in the comic and novel,so I would suggest you read either the comic or the novel.

@Livingstone07 The problem is the writing, the animations suck but if the story wasn't the fusion between a generic isekai and the typical protagonist of a manhwa one could still follow it, instead they took every possible banality and put them together to create one of the worst isekai ever made, if for you it's so good to give it a "10" I wouldn't trust your recommendations honestly

They couldn't leave the girl to be a klutz at magic, couldn't they? Of course not. Also what was Arthur little sister doing there?

Another awful episode. See you next week for more trash.

The worst part is that this had so, so much potential, and I never read the manhwa!

@Narizor yeah, i started reading the manwha after episode 8. Story seemed good but I couldnt stand the anime. Can't believe they just rewrote the whole shop scene and made it all about Lilia. And then completely changed the whole way the drama with Lilia and her wanting to become a mage played out as well. 0 reason to change it and honestly just made it worse

Nah that "teaching" was extremely rushed and random. It's like they fail, he put his hands on their backs and "blam" magically it just unlocks. Well at least he said 2-3 years but the way they cut it to them celebrating made it feel real weird.
