It's quite surprising that Shizuka sings in English without any Japanese accent (Japanese English, yk). Speaking of her singing, I also didn't expect that we would also hear the entire song in its entirety, without any cuts. Kind of time-consuming, isn't it? Well yeah for sure, it was a great performance by her.

Anyways, more fight scenes today. It seems that the group of people who were chasing Shizuka are back again in greater numbers, not having learned their lesson after being "massacred" in the previous episode. And yep, we are introduced to a new gang, GRAVEL!
@KingNotSkilled

She has a MASSIVE Japanese accent. So strong in places, if there weren't subtitles, I would have had no idea what she was singing. Taught English in Asia for 15 years -- could pick out that Japanese accent a mile away.

Beautiful voice, but accent waaaay off.

And weird that some people are saying "no plot".

I guess they can't read/ are deaf.

Plenty of plot -- right from the beginning, even when it seemed like they were just talking about food.

Looks like some people can't read subplots, or have any idea that, like any story, the implied is always as important as what is said upfront. Probably how well or badly you're taught in school????

Loving the anime more and more with every new episode. Season 1 was one of my favorites of the year, but Season 2 is even better.

I'm still amazed everytime some anime introduce several dozens of good-looking guys group after group in the same episode. And Wind Breaker probably has a hundred more waiting to be introduced in the future. And the best thing is that it has both quantity and quality, that means I could sleep with any random guy in this anime and I'd still be happy, even if he's just an unnamed character. But of course I'll always prefer to have a power to choose...

Sakura is still obsess with becoming a "top dog", but he'll always be a "bottom cat" for me, if you know what I mean.

@WienGirl I sincerely apologize for my negligence. But to be honest, I've listened to it over and over again, and it doesn't sound like your average Japanese English. Why is that, huh? Or perhaps there's a problem with my hearing 😅

“Every action has a reaction” is the theme of today’s episode and my goodness that’s a hell of a reaction from whoever wants Shizuka. Wtf is going to be her backstory? What could possibly warrant sending hundreds of dudes after ONE girl?! We’re leaning back into the action aspect of the series!

Glad we got a LITTLE respite before this war started. Tsubakino screen-time is always welcome. Learning about how he came to be a pole dancer was so cool. Just love how comfortable he is in his own skin and it’s all thanks to the older couple. Amazing how people can change the entire trajectory of your life!

Shizuka’s voice is absolutely angelic, but you can definitely feel some pain and loneliness in there. I don’t think the lyrics were any mistake. She’s running from something, but what? It’s gotta have something to do with the people who are after her.

100 grown men vs 10 Bofurin/Roppo ichiza kids, who’d win? 😂 Cloverworks COOKED as usual. So dope seeing Sakura and Kenji working together, also peep how proud Suo is to brag about Sakura being the grade captain. So cute! Nire still not quite at the point to join in on these big battles but I respect he’s trying to get stronger and analyzing where he could have an impact. It’s adorable how Suo uses this as a teaching moment for him!

Holy shit we got a new gang. GRAVEL seem like pure demons on a different level than we’ve seen before. There’s something very scary about an opponent that has nothing to lose. These dudes are trench babies that have to fight to survive, there’s no comfy homes waiting on them when they get back. Gonna be so dope seeing Roppo Ichiza and the others going all out against them next week!
@Marinate1016

After the first big fight at the start of the Season, everything has become boring. After Sakura learned what caring for others is (for like 3 episodes) we are now seeing the story of the other big dogs. Or more like big bi-? Lol

Anyways, the story is just uninteresting at this point and even the action feels pretty boring when you don't really care for what's the reason the fights are happening in the first place. (I don't know if my immersion breaking with a bunch of kids beating up adults is also affecting this.)

It's like when you watch an really good episode it feels like 5 minutes, but these past few episodes instead feel that we got 5 minutes of actual content while the rest was a waste of time. I really want to be interested but I feel like I'm forcing it to be honest.
@RooKiE_15 wind breaker is not just an action anime, wind breaker at the core is about growth, acceptance and love. the recipe of wind breaker has and will continue to be fight -> reflection -> cooldown -> fight and repeat. It is the story of sakura learning to accept himself and others, and he will continue to learn throughout the whole series. he will not completely change in "3 episodes" and there will be a lot more episodes dedicated purely to him learning and his emotinal gtowth because people (espeically traumatised) do not change their whole mindset within just a few days. if you find this boring then quit, because while yes, season 3 will contain a lot more action, the overarching theme will be what i've stated above and will continue to follow that formula.

@XemiiX3 Why are you telling me to quit? It's my decision to watch.

And just because the story is boring me doesn't mean all I'm watching it for is action.(especially since there was a crap ton of it this episode) The plot and characters is what I enjoy most in a series but right now it is kinda lacking in emotion and reason for me. This Season had some of those episodes that felt like the development and growth were dragged. Barely any development feels like most of the episode was filler. Hence, boring to me.

I'll still keep watching though. Especially since I'm told it'll get better later on.

@RooKiE_15 if the emotion and reason is lacking for you now, then it will still lack later, because the development is all based on sakura's growth to accept himself and others. the development is "dragged" because its a slow burn, people don't change in a day and wind breaker leans into that. the development is not one that will slap you in the face and have neon signs, its subtle and is something you notice once you look at the whole picture. thats why im telling you to quit, because you will continue to find it "lacking, dragged and boring".

@XemiiX3 I understand what you're trying to tell me but I look at Season 1 being pretty good when developing Sakura's feelings with Furin, the town, and even with the "enemies." But this Second season is paced like the Dressrosa Arc in One Piece. (If you don't know, an entire 20 minute gave us about 5 minutes of any relevant progress for either the characters or story) Aka very dragged out.

That was one of my biggest problems with the last few episodes. (Alongside not feeling the same connection with the new story and characters we're getting into)

But for Sakura, while yes I was a bit annoyed by that, 3 episodes were literally the same thing thrown in his face with figurative neon lights!! How long before we get bored of the same message? I get Sakura would be traumatized and slowly develops but the audience being told the same problem and the same answer while barely any development happening is unfortunately boring to me.

Again, I'll keep watching and I'll quit if what you say is true(if it keeps being like these past few episodes) But if it goes back to Season 1 pacing and progress or even better, I'll happily stick around longer. That is all.

Easy for me to be on board with, or have fun with, dramatic teenagers fighting each other over melodramatic issues like revenge, turf wars, and general delinquency issues.

Bit harder for me to be on board with full-grown adults doing it lol. Wouldn't mind so much if it was a smaller group of them as an exception, but the streets being flooded with "jobless adults from the next town over" is pushing my belief levels, haha.

Whatever though, I still enjoy this show and especially the characters. I think I'll enjoy the next arc more though.

Tsubaki being in Keisei Street and doing pole dancing is alluring, though his relationship with Roppo Ichiza is more nuanced, but every bit both similar and different from Bofurin dealing with everyday issues on the floor. That said, Shizuka's Engrish singing captures her vocal tone of the life she's living now, aside with the close relationship between her and Tsubaki. Yet, the same group coming back for their revenge on Sakura and his group, Kanji gets activated to the call as well to deal with the same gang troupe.

It's plain non-stop action between Sakura and Kanji, as well as Suo and Miyoshi, but when Suzuri Shuhei and his Sunaba District-based GRAVEL gang of mercenaries come to seek for Shizuka as well, that's where shit gets serious.

What's the deal wth Shizuka being the target of gangs, and Roppo Ichiza will do their best to defend her.

Well damn, Shizuka has quite a beautiful voice and we understand why Tasuku dances in this pub. Furin doesn’t really have an active nightlife, so it makes sense, but all Haruka cares about is EATING THAT FOOD. I didn’t expect the Sakaki brothers to be there, and I don’t know why they thought they were included for the free food since THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HELPING OUT ITO! BRO STOP FREELOADING Y’ALL WEREN’T THERE FOR THAT!

But the peaceful times end quickly since a bunch of thugs come in to try to take Shizuka, but luckily the Roppo Ichiza has the backup of Haruka’s squad in which we are introduced to some of its members. We got Shogo Hidaka, Ritsu Otowa, and Akihito Miyoshi (the blonde blue suit dude).

Surprisingly, it’s mostly them clapping the cheeks rather that Haruka and Hayato, while Akihiko is staying back knowing that he’s not currently strong enough for this.

As it seems they have mowed down the lot, we have Shuhei Suzuri and GRAVEL from the Sunaba district, which became known for burglaries due to its tanking economy. GRAVEL functions as a mercenary team and it seems they have been tasked with retrieving Shizuka, and Roppo Ichiza is ready to defend her even if it costs them their lives, especially since they know Tasuku and the Sakaki brothers are there to protect her in case anybody gets through them.

This is about to be EPIC, and it seems the Furin will develop some kind of conflict with this new group. We’ll have to wait and see…

Kanji was acting so goofy as he cheered on Shizuka, and it was a surprise to learn that the Roppo Ichiza members are all the same age as the students from Furin. They all look so much older because of their build. It's going to be even harder to tell in the future when more high schoolers who look like grown men appear.

Loved seeing another well-animated fight in this episode. The peaceful times are finally over, and things are starting to heat up. Sakura and Kanji, as well as Suou and Miyoshi, bonded nicely during the fight. Nirei, I believe in you, dude. You’ll improve and become strong enough to fight by your friends’ side.

Shizuka has such a pretty voice, but why are these people after her? I wouldn't be surprised if someone hired them to kidnap her because of her voice. The number of persuaders targeting her won't stop. Let's see how things unfold.

What we're seeing here is Wind Breaker doing better with establishing the emotion behind all of the major fights along with developing both Haruka and the other Furin people ALONG WITH introducing more to the world and other groups that have connections to Furin.

This is absolutely amazing stuff we're seeing.

Yasminaa said:

EXACTLY!

This anime takes itself so seriously & acts like it's grounded, yet never a cop in sight for any of these gang wars. As obnoxious as Tokyo Revengers became, at least the groups would run from cops (who always showed up after the fact, but still...).

But whatever, that's not going to make me not like a series. It's an anime, so even if it pretends to be more realistic, it's not going to be. No big deal.

That being said, the whole pattern of rescuing a person in need, followed by a new gang introduction is becoming very much like Tokyo Revengers. Thankfully, our protagonist isn't a sniveling, useless baby who spends half of every episode getting fatally pummeled, only to somehow not die. Oh, and Sakura isn't a complete moron who never learns from anything like Takmitchy.

I haven't been a fan of the amount of time dedicated to the girl-guy stuff, but that's mostly because his design looks so ridiculously dumb imo. Being feminine or cross dressing is whatever, that doesn't bother me. But he acts like he cares about style & fashion, yet dresses like THAT? He looks like a straight up clown ;D

Aren't there any cops in that place?

C'mon, give Tsubaki a makeover. Please!

Yup, no matter what they do, I'm still going to like the show. But I just can't help it, especially whenever the fights are way too big to wonder where the cops have disappeared to XD

But yeah, I'm still going to watch it till the end :)

While she has a great voice, I hope the songs would just be in Japanese. I never have understood the obsession in anime with making singer-type characters sing in (broken) English.
uh oh!

Now its getting back up, i feel like they are trying too much with the Tsubaki character, he'll probably become involved somehow which was pretty obvious, i mean why stay in the first place. also can't they just call the other furin guys, delinquent anime logic i guess. But so far i will this season has been a let down because hardly anything happens and when it does, it's just basic shit even the fighta have been gettin boring. Like why are the other people just watching the fight and the amount of people already down, did they wake up or something.
It just feels stale, say what you want about Tokyo revengers but they don't keep you bored for long, different character designs, like almost all background characters are just bleugh
But that's what Windbreaker has been so it's not like it's too much different from the origninal premise, it's all about the characters here and at least they do something with that. But if this arc ends with that dude spilling his guts and saying his sad backstory, and then changng, i'm gonna lose it. Like just make someone bad just for the sakes, you know, like i liked the other guy from Keel

So the reason why at least 2 different gangs were hired to "bring back" Shizuka is still unknown but I think it will be revealed in an upcoming episode. Speaking of her, her singing was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised to hear her sing in English. Regarding the fighting and the 2nd gang known as GRAVEL, I think things will pick up as this gang does not appear to be pushovers.
