They really can't go through any event in this show without some sort of incident happening lol We got a character rivalry battle between Sin and Unika this time around. It seems this show will feature at least one important battle per episode? We'll see. Still enjoying the art style of the anime. It feels refreshing and stylistic specific for this anime. |

I wish Sin would do something to make me like him as a main character. His personality doesn't match his buffed-up body. I don’t get why there were so many stalled images during the fight, but whatever. At least we finally saw the busty Baiken in action—would’ve been better if they jiggled, though. Such a disappointment. This Unika girl is annoying. Girl, if the war isn’t over yet, instead of acting like a terrorist, prove something, like any normal person would. |

I have a problem with animation in anime. We have animation like in PowerPoint, and we have good quality animation (Sol use his sword (I forget his name) and Unika vs Sin). But mostly we have a bad quality animation with static pictures and "very active" static fight |

@XArceusX Sin acts like this because hes canonically a 10 year old, its his gears that sped up his physical aging process |

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH MY FUARKING GOAT AXL LOW, THE GOAT OF ALL GOATS, THE STRONGEST CHARACTER IN THIS ENTIRE FRANCHISE BAR NONE, THE SAVIOUR OF THE UNIVERSE (literally) AXL FREAKING LOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!! To be honest this was far better than the first episode which was terrible in all instances, Sol had like one hella cool shot which is more than what I was expecting. Still most of the show looks bad and incredibly stiff, a shame for an anime sequel to one of the fastest paced fighting game ever conceived. The overall writing is keeping that very dishonest way of just explaining everything as fast as possible and relying A LOT on the fact people should already know those characters personality, it's reasonable considering the purpose of this anime to begin with but I don't get why apart from Sin, all other characters talk like placeholders of themselves. Just take this moment from the beginning of Xrd story mode and it's flagrant how different Sol's personality is to what he is in Dual Rulers right now, he lost a lot of his arrogance, abrasivity, stubborness yet goodwill and heavy maturity. For those who dare to respond to me he has "changed", Sol's entire character is based on the fact he has lived for 180+ years and he's sick of mankind's bullshit yet keeps on living for the fun of it. Sol post Strive is the same as Sol pre Xrd, I wouldn't say it's terrible but it just doesn't feel as honest as it could (probably because Daisuke isn't writing it). Compared to last episode this episode basically had 0 lore inconsistency but the thing it implies might come later. My complaint is more on the premise execution, this is so forced. Last episode was accused of being "Guilty Gear fanservice", but I disagree, it was fan-disservice for me with how many elements were brushed aside, this episode however, reeks of fanservice, Strive fanservice in particular. I'm not going to sugarcoat it any further because it's obvious, Bridget's and Baiken's only reason be here is marketability, as they both are 2 of the most recognizable and popular character in the entire franchise outside of the GG fanbase, I'd say Bridget in particular is more popular than Guilty Gear itself at this point. What bothers me is that the show DOES NOTHING with them despite shilling their presence hard. Bridget never disappoints as always by providing nothing to the story like she did since her debut in XX when she was still a boy, she's here to be paraded and have as much cute shots possible to farm twitter pfps and just saves a background character, completely pointless inclusion for pandering. Baiken as well is hilarious, we don't really have a timeframe for WHEN this takes place after Strive. A couple of months? A year? No idea. The last time we saw Baiken she promised Delilah to take care of her night and day. She also came to terms with giving up her desire of revenge against That Man, so why is she still roaming the world like that? She says the US government is paying her but that goes against her character anyway to be doing anything for money, she's not a bounty hunter like the others. Now I wouldn't have any problem with them being present if at least they could explain why some characters ARE NOT present because WHAT DO YOU MEAN GOLDLEWIS AND GIOVANNA AREN'T HERE TO PROTECT THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WHEN HE'S GETTING ATTACKED, THAT'S THEIR ENTIRE JOB, THEY LITERALLY DID THAT THE LAST TIME THE WHITE HOUSE WAS ATTACKED, ARE THEY ON HOLIDAYS?! Most characters aren't there not because it wouldn't make sense for them to there, like why is ABA totally absent from the entire story, that's logical because she has no reason to be there during Xrd events at all. They aren't present because they just didn't have the budget to animate them or include them, but the characters that would generate money like Bridget and Baiken are here, even if they are useless, that's completely enraging. I want also to talk about Bridget and Baiken knowing each other. If you do not know XX story mode, it feels insane because Bridget has talked to like 3 characters total in the entire franchise so far cannonically but in the many XX arcade stories, Bridget does encounter Baiken. I'm also very confused as to why the show refers to the events of Strive's story mode a couple of times but also seem to not really acknowledge them? It's weird, "it's a story for another time", no you're wrong Sugita Tomokazu, it's "a story we already know". Why is Sol using random ass gadgets to fight? Asuka removed the "Flame of Corruption" from his body. What this actually means is pretty vague but we know for a fact is that Sol is still a Gear but is no longer immortal and is weaker than before, but he can still use his old magic, why he relies on weird ass gadget weapons? He uses the Outrage afterwards anyway, I just think they didn't want to give us some VOLCANIC VIPER animation, really regretful. So I guess this episode also soft confirmed Unika is Sin's daughter? or sister? She is obviously related to him and will be another addition to the gigantic Sol/Justice family tree, I'm not a big fan of this, I expected a newcomer to be really totally separated from what we already knew like Goldlewis, Gio or Nago, but eh whatever. People were already theorizing she was related to Dizzy because her eyes were exactly the same and the first teaser showing her was referencing Justice first appearance in The Missing Link. Very predictable but not totally uninteresting. Seeing GG characters dealing with random human bums is so funny, Ram could wipe them all in a fraction of second. Once again apart from a couple of "weaker" characters most of them are SO ABOVE a regular human in sheer power it's like comparing Mr Satan to Vegeta. The guy Unika is calling father is Nerville, obviously. I would be surprise if he wasn't. What I find interesting is Unika's power. Most of the time it looks like classic anime aura/lighting effects but those "creatures" she summons are really reminiscing of Baldias the main antagonist of Guilty Gear Vastedge. Guilty Gear Vastedge was originally a pachinko machine released in 2013 which has cannonical lore to the Guilty Gear franchise. If you're familiar with Pachinko machines it's a huge market in japan and a lot of them have anime incoporated to them to enchance their experience (I guess) and it's also the case of GG, what's funny is some of the lore provided by Vastedge was critical to the next game. For example Vastedge is the first ever appearance of Millia's redesign after XX where she went from her classic outfit to the more russian inspired outfit she has today. GG Vastedge is also lost media to an extent, some of its files have been found but the entire anime is still today incomplete. Still we have a cool trailer. Baldias was part of the hugely important Conclave, the group who introduced magic to humanity, but he got killed by Sol and Sin during the event of Vastedge. The Conclave still hasn't been expanded much since the end of Xrd and only Chronus remains alive from them. It would actually be cool as hell if Unika was linked to the conclave in some sorts which would explain how much insider info she has. BUT WHO THE HELL CARE ABOUT ANY OF THIS, WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THAT AXL FUCKING LOW IS IN THE EPISODE FOR 15 SECONDS AND IS THE GREATEST CHARACTER IN ALL OF FICTION AND WASN'T PRESENT IN THE POSTER AND CAST ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS MEANS THERE MIGHT BE OTHER CHARACTERS WHO WEREN'T ANNOUNCED WHO WILL APPEAR AT SOME POINT AND THAT'S HYPE BECAUSE BRIDGET IS A REDDIT-AHH CHARACTER I DONT CARE ABOUT, GIVE ME CHIPP, GIVE ME SLAYER, GIVE ME NAGO, GIVE ME GREATNESS. (That or this was just a cameo and Axl will not reappear again and I will rage endlessly about it) |

Okay, so Axl is just the same as always, traveling randomly uncontrollably to whatever time has planned in mind for him, bro's hilarious as he is in the game, i swear. That aside, loved Brisket's debut! Saving a child as soon as he spots one, while getting saved by our badass assassin Baiken, never knew they were acquaintances though, that's news to me. Nonetheless, we never knew what those randomly spawned hollow-like creatures were, but whatever. Also, i don't remember Sin being that weak AT ALL in the game, like seriously. I mean, it's either that, or Unika just too OP, but i bet it's the latter. Still though, exchanging memories via 6Ps? That's some Naruto stuff right there bruv, you both got same hair & eye colors, so i understand, but not cool bruv. That aside, never knew that Sol used explosives and that Elphett uses her legs now, since she was all GUNS in the game, but that's unladylike when you're such a cutie Elphett, so don't do that wearing a skirt, else you're a naughty girl. Ramlethal, as always, just swinging her GIGANTIC guns left right & center, glad to know she hasn't changed one bit. I wouldn't really know about the sisters needed to be sent out to beat a few scums though, but okay, i guess. Last but not least, Unika bruv, you're a hypocrite, trust me. Cuz nobody's bringing about despair other than yourself, so what you on about with peace and whatnot? Please, can it, for pete's sake, thank you very much. Bro Sin saying you looked like you're gonna cry, you know how you looked to me? Mad AF. |

This was a good episode. I also thought Bridget was girl the first time I saw him in the games. Sol's new weapon was pretty badass. I am more interested in Unika now after what happened during her fight with Sin. Baiken was cool, and so was the Valentine's. |

Two episodes is more than enough for me. Not enjoying this as much as I'd hoped. I did enjoy parts of some of the battles scenes where they actually animated some of the fight, but so much of this anime is static images that are panned across with noise, or they'll animate something but like 90% of the footage is zoomed in on the character's face or parts of their face like their eyes. Way too much zooming in on faces. For an anime based on a fighting game, I want to see nicely animated fight scenes where the character use their signature moves, instead most of the time it's here's a close up shot of so and so's face as their emoting while fighting. Also, Sin is an incredibly annoying protagonist. |

Compared to the 1st episode, this one was waaaaay better, but I doubt they will keep the pace, for the next episodes at least. This episode was better but still just ok, Bridget scenes were fun but ultimately had no purpose to the plot, not that they need too, just thought I'd point it out. It kept my interest more, but Unika is still not an interesting character to me. Not gonna drop it, but nowhere near as interested as I was when it was announced. As someone who has grown up since the day and age of fighting video game anime and OAV adaptations, I'm not sorry that Guilty Gear hasn't impressed some of you. This may be rather surprising to you, but these OAVs aren't going to hold your hand because you didn't play the video game. It's the equivalent of you walking into a movie adaptation of an anime series you never watched and you complaining about everything because you're not in the know of what's going on. Playing the video game is the equivalent of watching an anime series, because you're there for all of the twists, turns, and unintended surprises when you play and get what story that comes of the characters in the game when you beat it. tl;dr it's the equivalent of watching an entire anime season or even series run. I'm also not apologizing for video games being a form of entertainment you need to play to win the story and its progression, unlike the total spectatorship of viewership based sequential media. Am I here to change minds? No, I'm not. I'm here however to show how crappy and low bar the criterion is the bias is against video game OAVs for about 30 years already. Thank you for letting me go on my tirade. EDIT: Also, Guilty Gear since Xrd has made its Story Mode gameplay free if you want to watch it. So you kind of don't have an excuse, other than the price tag. And if you want to get into the story of past installments like XX and the first Guilty Gear, which are gameplay story mode based. |

The show so far has respected the lore really well. I love the music and the animation but Im still curious about this unika girl. This is what guilty gear strive's story mode should have been but playable honestly. I wonder what happens later that makes people rate it so low |
