well that was a cringe episode but it finally happened, Kouki really got some just desserts.

let's hope he actually finally stops being a massive cringelord and progresses now. or at least stops pretending to be a good person and becomes an antagonist. idc either way, but everyone putting up with his terrible disposition and attitude while pretending he's a good guy was rather tired

The penultimate episode of Season 3 with Kouki's test and being manifested by his alter ego of the hero ideology against Hajime, it's clear that his test would be one of the hardest to overcome because of his pride and ego on the line, and even more so, Hajime's morale that leans the girls onto him instead of Kouki himself. Even Hajime senses it so that he gave into the pressure of his shadow self, and it's safe to say that Kouki is rather weak-willed to believe the reality he's seeing with Hajime and the others.

With no hope of ever saving Kouki, both Hajime and Shizuku has to take matters into their own hands, even as he allows his alter ego to take over him and borrow its power to try and take down Hajime. But deep down, Hajime is keeping distance knowing that Kouki's too far off gone, even as everyone witnesses the despair of his idiocy that he also can't afford to just stand idly by and give him a taste of his own medicine, leaving Kouki as the only person who failed the test. Also, Shizuku being bold to kiss Hajime in front of everyone certainly puts her in the line of competition...

...that for now, is to successfully reach the end of the Schnee ice cave, which they do. What awaits them at the end of the line?

Shizuku finally went in!!! ☺️
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Beyond disappointed in Kouki’s showing today man holy shit that was cringe. Only person in the group to fail the test and he hasn’t grown a bit since we first met him. If anything, he’s regressed. After everything they’ve been thru, the idea of him turning on Nagumo and listening to the darkness in his heart, accusing Shizuku of being brainwashed, etc. embarrassing.

It’s funny because this behavior is EXACTLY why he don’t have a girl 😂 no one wants to be with an insecure loser who doesn’t value girls’ autonomy. You think after everything they’ve been thru that Hajime is just manipulating the girls? Stupid. Good to see him get his ass beat by Hajime

So proud of Shizuku for confessing and kissing Hajime right in front of the other girls. That takes a lot of confidence and shows she’s a totally different person now. If only Kouki could say the same.

you want kouki to confess and kiss hajime in front of everyone just like shizuku? 💀

Finally, the episode I've been waiting for since the trials started is here! The whole time I was waiting for the moment when Kouki would finally "wake up" and face his own inadequacy and...it never came. Disappointing for sure. Now the only question is will he FINALLY learn to be honest with himself and confront and accept his hatred, jealousy and other negative emotions or will he continue to deny them to the point we witness the birth of a new villain? I will accept only either redemption or ruin.

Really think they should've just left him in the cave tbh. At least that way maybe he could try again.

I expected it to be bad and it was very bad.

Making main character standout is one thing but throwing Kouki completely under the bus. Horrible writing.
As people said no development for Kouki from start and he even got worse. Consumed by jealousy he just gave up. I have no problem with harem but making Shizuku not part of harem and using her to revive Kouki would have been way to much quality for Arifureta standard can't have that...
Kouki ass got handed to him and should have been killed off absolute waste of space garbage. Seeing him grovel and beat up was not bad.

Shizuku gave her joining letter (kiss). So the count is five here + princesss + Miyu' mom? + sensei?.
But officially it's still two...(Tio when?)

This ice cave dragged on forever complety killed any momentum from first half. As this season went it got worse and worse. Atleast it gonna end now. Maybe if the last season happens it would have better plot.

Kouki's problem is not just jealousy. He cannot find his place or identity after being tron from his world and life and being thrown into a new world. He is lacking in maturity and cannot forge his own identity after losing everything that he was including being. He is given a false identity by the false goddess, and he cannot help but notice the dissonance between that and his new reality. He cannot reconcile to his status of just being a plying piece in game for the amusement of false gods.

What's the point with all these trials on overcoming yourself when Nagumo just saves the day every time?
Yae became the most harem anime character in existence and Kouki is just purposely a dumbass.

Man what I did even expect from Arifureta

Finally Yaegashi confessed her feelings to Hajime.

Koki was an idiot. He forgot how many times Hajime saved him and didn’t get appraised or supported by him.

He deserved to be defeated by Hajime.

@Sugram22 Not 2 goddesses. It's 1 goddess and a young queen of a kingdom in a certain world.

I seem to be the only one rooting for Kouki. To me, he's the only true character in the whole series. He's weak and infantile. In this he's very human resembling me and lots of people from the real world. But all the rest are simply machines in human form. Especially the main character whose humanity vanished right in the first episode of the first season.

Kouki becomes the typical villainous hero character to be used as a scape goat for the writer to show just how much "cooler" Nagumo is.

Kouki convinces himself that all the girls are being mind controlled by Nagumo. What's funny is that an outside observer may even believe Kouki's stance since most sane people don't willingly join a stupid harem just to be around some edgy looking teenager with an eyepatch in a trench coat.

I'm genuinely growing to despise this show. Poorly written- Trash Incarnate. I'll finish this coming final episode but not sure I can stomach any more.

Noting unexpected. Kouki was written as a guy for us do dislike in his every move... Should've shot his knees tho.

Those last few episodes were so boring to watch. I hope at least final one makes up for it.

Lol this episode's start made it felt like I'm watching a NTR genre, it was like Hajime's a MC of some hentai, until Kouki started attacking him suddenly.

Damn this hero's pathetic. Instead of accepting the truth and work hard for the love of his heart, he just chose the simple way out by killing the dude that girls are falling for. And by doing that it gets awkward for me to watch.

I was really dreading this episode, so sick of Kouki continually getting a free pass, so I was happily surprised when all of his idiocy finally came home to roost. Nagumo had so much patience not to injure Kouki more seriously or even kill him, but he was wise to realize that his classmates wouldn't have accepted that. The only one to fail the dungeon, but let's be real he didn't deserve to be there from the beginning. Forcing Ryutaro to literally carry Kouki on his back drove home to his classmates how useless the supposed "hero" has become.

I'm up to episode 14. But so far this season the story is boring or rather not what my type is. I rate season 1 and 2 is 10 out 10. but season 3 is like I can't go 10 out of 10.

Aight they better make this Koki fight good or else imma be pissed they've literally ruined every chance of character development with him so far.
TBF he did kind of fumble Shizuku which is WHY I feel like they should just develop his character enough for Shizuku to actually like him again I mean she admitted having a crush on him before. But if they keep him this pathetic and still give him 0 character development I give up man.
MAN this show really hates doing ANYTHING with this character it's so flat and predictable.
Koki's character is flatter than Yue's chest like BRO. How hard is it to have some character writing for a character which you give this much screen time.
Yes he's obviously an annoying, flawed, narcissistic character, that's exactly why he has the most room for improvement and changing him would hit the hardest and be the most satisfying first I thought maybe they finally would do it with the moment with Eri but nope, messed up the perfect opportunity and even now in this scripted character development labyrinth they refuse.
I made the joke before but bro IS LITERALLY quoting Mitsurugi Kyouya right now that line was 1:1
Like if nagumo kicking him is supposed to be satisfying? It's not it's just pathetic writing.
I actually just cringed at the heterochromia and that's impressive considering this show.
They really went for the lamest possible route with Koki huh, holy shit this is bad writing.
19:40 AS IF this show is gonna give him that chance. The amount of times they've blatantly just made a punching bag out of the character without 0 improvement or change is ridicilous at this point. The moment with Eri being the worst one that should have had some effect on his character.
Man I really hope they don't make a season 4 cuz it's utterly pointless by how predictable and bad this is, like it'd all be in false hope and ultimate disappointment that yet again they refuse to actually have good writing and realistic characters, that are effected by events and circumstances. It's fine have stereotypes they exist for a reason but if they are ever unchanging and unaffected by the writing and the story then it's just bad writing.

Sigh, so we've chosen the lowest common denominator plot again, although ig you can't say you didn't see it coming. Still cringe as always though, who actually enjoys this type of antagonist? Just a child throwing a tantrum. I had a little hope (cope) that he was showing some growth and at least some tolerance, but everything was undone this episode. It honestly worries me that despite clearly wanting to kill Hajime, we are just pretending it didn't happen. Hajime really has gotten too soft, far cry from the other guy he took out in the first season. As he said, once the guy wakes up, he will continue to be a menace and eventually bring harm upon Hajime or one of his loved ones, all because he couldn't finish the job. At this rate, even Eri might get a "redemption" despite already murdering dozens of people including classmates in cold blood.

Kouki being written as the wannabe MMO paladin archetype without a lick of humour to it made for quite the humiliation conga in this episode. Not much nuance going there.

His understandable jealousy over his childhood friend fawning over his overpowered classmate—who already has an existing harem—is subverted by the writing hyperbolising his reactions to the scenario, rather than presenting him more empathetically through the likes of an inner monologue sequence. Basically, the drama here is presented with even less subtlety and more partisanship than the average netori hentai.
