The CSM movie trailer with the NEW DIRECTOR (Tatsuya Yoshihara) just dropped and... It absolutely DESTROYED season 1 in every department!!! I mean, just look at this absolute masterclass of direction and Animation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1n552v1ng0 This is literally what the pinnacle of Japanimation looks like. This trailer is definitive proof that the previous director, Ryu Nakayama, is solely to blame for the complete financial failure of CSM season 1. If Chainsaw Man had been as well directed as this new movie it would have been the biggest anime of our modern times! Instead, Jujutsu Midsen FRAUDULENTLY took that spot away from CSM, simply because it was lucky enough to receive a proper director from the beginning! But it doesn't matter anymore, now that Ryu Nakayama is no longer in charge of ruining the franchise, we finally have a proper genius director like Yoshihara helming the production of Chainsaw Man! CSM's anime can finally "change the anime industry" like it should have done from the beginning! |

| It had everything, But it still bombed. Sometimes I think, Perhaps if the season had 24 episodes, It might have been received better. The beginning part of Chainsaw man isn't particularly that great in the manga, It's the middle part which is fantastic. |

| I'm gonna be straight with ya, this looks way more generic of a shōnen than season 1, though you also have to think about what this trailer mainly showcases: action. Chainsaw Man just isn't about the fights, so you really can't form a complex opinion of the direction simply based on a trailer that mainly showcases fights. That being said, the fights look amazing, but everything before 45 seconds is honestly worse than season 1 in my opinion. It all feels so in your face, gone is the subtlety of the manga, the careful framing and evocative images, it's just another basic shōnen like JJK, at least when it comes to the direction. CSM is supposed to be cinematically directed in a clearly western style, but they just lost that here. I'm not saying that you can't prefer this, though I doubt you really got Chainsaw Man if that is your honest opinion. |
