Stop!...
If Eden just needs an AI for administration, put the cheeky grandma inside.
I also can't imagine how this small island might save the world.
They would have to build more artificial platform to work and not just 1 Atri.

So she made a scifi island and wants Atri to be the hub. Maybe anime will end with a timeskip where Natsuki has made ai/android revolution after a timeskip and made a replacement for Atri and then she wakes up once again making it go full circle or something. Anyway.

And now the final moment. The choice that will change everything. I knew things would escalate but this was surprising.

To find out how to save Atori's memory would have been the best and by far the hardest option I guess.

Good observation. So good I have no idea why I didn't realised it. True, the grandma is herself just an IA already there, why is she not doing the whole thing? What was the point for her to use Atori for this? Plus you are right. One single island won't have changed the world, for the rest of the islands sure Atori wasn't alone the sourse of everything, sure there were better solutions. The only point left is, that the memory of Atori get errased if she doesn't go into the capsula. That would have been the hardest to solve.

Oh no.. I knew there would be something wrong with the Eden, I mean the island is really good but it's already kinda too late as a shelter from the water rising since humanity is almost extinct... and now Atri needs to be sealed to make the island work otherwise her memory will be reset and they only have 3 days left already, damn, the grandmother isn't a good as we thought

The girls looked great, especially Minamo. She looked amazing in her swimsuit, totally rocking it. I can't believe Natsuki chose a loli robot over his childhood friend who has loved and supported him all this time, not to mention looks amazing and has a great personality. I really can't get behind human-robot romance, so it's the part I dislike the most about this anime which unfortunately means I dislike a core part of it. Same reason why I dislike Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai.

Nonko really built that island by herself, brutalist complexes and all? Even if the autonomous machines pitched in at some point, which I'm sure they did, that's a hell of an undertaking. Maybe the AI hologram she created took over as foreman after her passing.

Still, if the island has been operating without issue through machinery and robotics with no human input, then Nonko obviously built it to be sustainable even without Atri's administration. So how does using Atri to "manage" the place come across as so imperative to Nonko?

Well the new original plot is full of hole, but even the original plot is pretty dumb from what presented in this thread.

Sorry, I can't help it—I'm a total nerd and a software developer, so I had to bring this up: the code that shows up during the episode. Eden System really caught my eye. It looks like it's written in C#. I honestly expected them to use C++ or Rust, but C#? Interesting! <3 Technically, this is part of the episode, right? Haha.

I'm curious about something, though... There are a few hints scattered around. Why would CREATE_TIME and UPDATE_TIME be set to DateTime(1963, 9, 9)? 🤔 It must mean something important.

// Eden System Control Lib
public class TSData
{
    public List<string> Comment = new List<string>();
    public List<Ard_prms> Params = new List<Ard_prms>();
    private int m_CellCount = TSdef.CellCount;
    private int m_FrameCount = TSdef.FrameCount;
    private int m_FrameCountTrue = TSdef.FrameCount;
    private TSfps m_FrameRate = TSfps.fps24;
    public TSPageSec PageSec = TSdef.PageSec;

    //---------------------------------------------------------------
    public DateTime CREATE_TIME = new DateTime(1963, 9, 9);
    public DateTime UPDATE_TIME = new DateTime(1963, 9, 9);
    //---------------------------------------------------------------

    public string[] SheetInfoTbl = new string[(int)SheetInfo.Count];
    public bool[] IsPrintSheetInfo = new bool[(int)SheetInfo.Count];
    public bool IsPrintComment = true;

    public string SheetName = "";
    public string FileName = "";

    //***************************************************************
    //***************************************************************
    private string[] cellCaption = new string(TSdef.CellCount);
    private int[] frameEnabled = new int[TSdef.FrameCount];
    private int[][] cellData = new int[TSdef.CellCount][];
    //---------------------------------------------------------------
    public int[] CellLayer(int idx)
    {
        if (idx < 0 || idx >= cellData.Length)
        {
            throw new IndexOutOfRangeException("Invalid cell index.");
        }
        return cellData[idx];
    }
}

To think that Natsuki's grandma built something grand as that man-made safe haven on her own!? It just really says that she's a great scientits, the only downside is she's a terrible grandma...
