I really enjoyed this manga, I was hoping for a happy ending, but I'm glad the girl found closure.

Genuinely thought this was going to be some melodramatic garbage, was surprised at how much I felt and how much I could somehow relate to the characters. An instant favorite.

i hadn't known a single thing about what it would be about before reading, only that i had seen it and knew it would be of a sad subject matter.

it unexpectedly addressed. i know what it is like to have someone in the world this similar to you... in many ways. there were quotes in here that spoke to me. i frequently struggle and i had thought prior to reading this, that i should read something different that would take my mind off of it. when in fact, it only brought me to face it.

i did imagine he would somehow be freed of his handcuffs. in the end, there was something much more substantial he was freed of.

a great piece. hurts

Knew this was how things were going to conclude from the very start but I was still hoping for a miracle. Just give the guy until his birthday, man...

Bittersweet story with a profound message.

What a bittersweet ending. They both found a measure of happiness but lost it just as quick. At least Juri still has some hope left.

Not really sad enough for me to warrant rivers of tears like some commenters felt. 8 chapters is not really enough for me to get attached like that. Still, the story was beautiful and makes me sad that there's still places out there in the world, like Japan, that utilize the death penalty.

I do hope that a lot of the commenters of decades past here supporting it have had the chance to grow up, like Juri.

Ok this was a nice short manga adaptation. Maybe I'll read the novel version one day. I didn't cry or anything but this still was a nice read before bed I think. Definitely not a 10/10 but at least a 7 or 8 I think just for the vibes. This was good.
