What time or period in your life do you consider the best and why? Is there any way for you to return this?

I guess the time me and my mother hiked up Mt Norwottock in Amherst. 1100 foot tall mountain, and somehow I was the only one who was out of breath by the time we reached the peak. It was a good time away from my hellhole city, and I haven't really had anything that fun happen since.

90's was probably the best. Everything felt simply cool and exiting back then.

@Serafos Everyone used to hate the 90s and 00s, but it looks like after the last 15-20 years, they were pretty happy times.

No chance. The older you get the less fun you'll have. Life is much simpler when you're young.

@RobertBobert Rarely. Only when I come across it randomly. I try not to rely too much on nostalgia for enjoyment.

1993-4

Jurassic Park was out, and it caused a massive Dinosaur craze in my country, even got taught it in School. Loved every second of it.
I was still weak and got pains, but not yet in hospital, and could manage School and did well there, had friends and my Sister there too.
Wasn't yet aware of the dangers surrounding me.

Nah, can never get that back.

Dinosaurs are still a big comfort item for me, but they also sadden me as being a Paleontologist was my dream.
Protection is gone, my parents died, sis went insane, eldest sis tries but also doesn't, lies & false history becomes the narrative of my life.

University life was the best time of my life, lots of free time and it was fun to learn things I was actually interested in, not like in school before.
Theoretically I could quite my job and continue studying, but it will never be the same again.

being 8-10 years old, playing on my ds, playing with my toys and drawing silly drawings. second best time is now, but man childhood was bliss. no wonder nostalgia is such a big selling point in this increasingly dark world

When is a better time than now? I have all the experience and knowledge I have accumulated through my time on earth, and tomorrow I get to wake up and gain even more. If I was to return to a previous time I wouldn’t know what I know now, and I would be worse off for it.

Best time in my life ? There are many moments that I've felt happiness.

Swimming in the sea, sun bathing, hanging out with my childhood friends, laughing, honest expressure of feelings with close friends and family (to each other), praying, singing, dancing with people (even with random people) feeling inner warmth and love...

I also feel happy sometimes at random moments like work or when I achieve something good.

@RobertBobert

what time or period in your life do you consider the best and why?-

2002-2012 my entire childhood. Just the general vibe, having so many amazing bros around me, being involved in athletics heavily, fucking around in class, class overall being easy, no stress, no smartphones, everybody got along with everyone. Also some side notes, games had soul and value in them, there was no "I'm this gender" garbage, there was no woke garbage, there was no race wars, and my generation had the best music, from the late 90s to the mid 2000s alternative rock scene blasting in.

- Is there any way for you to return this?

No, never, my life has already peaked and will never get better for the next 50 or so years ( though I doubt I'm gonna make it that long lul ) I used to be extremely upset by this fact , after a long time I finally got over it and accepted how things are going to play out. However I am glad that I had a happy childhood, and will always look back to those days with warmth.

2000-2008. Toonami, becoming a huge otaku, great mmorpgs like Everquest, Planetside, Star Wars Galaxies, Final Fantasy XI, LAN parties and sleepovers, first discovering cornography, saw a girls nipple for the first time irl that wasn't my mom's.

Aside from being bullied at school, life was good.

for multiple moments, i thought i ghost wrote the same post. The only major exceptions are the years being very different, i was involved heavily in basketball instead of athletics, still had some amazing friends even if i was already a pathetic loser / laughing stock, and all of this peaked starting from June 1999 to the end of the same year, especially because during the summer i successfully switched course for the third and final year of junior high to escape bullying. Almost at the same level, more or less the entire 2004 tied between my second-to-last and final year of high school, second half of 2012 when i began working at McDonald's and was so much better than expectations, and second half of 2017 (by extension, actually, until midway through 2018) when i returned to the exact same restaurant after 4 years in a different one. After the 2000's, music, basketball and videogames went worse and worse but i still managed to watch in concert in time most of my favorite rock bands from 2011 to 2020, and anime interest just became bigger and bigger with both current shows and past ones to discover.

Obviously, even if i agree overall with that Dr. Seuss sentence since the first time i discovered it, there is no way at all some good times will ever return. i'm 38, overworked harder and harder in a place that was happier once but with a business amount gone way out of hand now, no more energy or motivation to do anything at all at this point except for watching more anime series, no joke, they're still the only light at the end of the tunnel right now, the only major interest of mine that still holds up strong for past, present and future.

College years. I had my first female friends -- they were ALL female. And my family was away to their own country. So I had peace and "me" time. Such good times. Then everything went to hell.
You're going down, punk...
