Alya-san is starting to improve her relationship with Masachika and I am sure that sooner or later, they will be in love with each other. Alya trusts him and they have many things in common.

I wonder what Alya’s reaction would be if she found out that Masachika actually understands Russian😂

Alisa’s personality is marvellous. She is ambitious, hard-working, disciplined and educated girl. She is giving her all in every thing she is doing, so it should be appreciated more for this.

Folk-dance part was amazing, I love how everyone tried their best to make the most beautiful school festival.

I wasn't looking forward to a flashback episode, but I ended up enjoying it. I also like the implication that Masachika's childhood crush that he learned Russian for _wasn't_ Alya after all. Makes the characters seem less derpy for not noticing. Of course, if he takes too long to figure it out about the sister, derpiness will resume.

I was hoping big sis would figure out that he speaks Russian by the end of the episode, but here's hoping he'll get outed next week instead. I want to see how Masha abuses this secret knowledge to torment Masachika.

Folk-dance scene where Masachika and Alya danced was the best, I did not know Alya can dance so good. After all, she practiced balet.

Bro you watched the episode?

We didn't see them dancing.

Instantly dropped. How can they skip the most important scene of the entire series LOL the dance scene literally explains exactly their dynamic, the reason why Masachika does what he does and throws out a glimpse of their own motivations as well

It's the perfect scene to flesh out the chapter and they skipped it... was a cool adaptation but choosing to skip this scene out of all shows a lack of discernment from the director. SMH

Come on bro the Taniyama & Nonoa VS Alya & Masachika debate + Alya's speech at (my guess) episode 10 will be enough to show their dynamics.

They haven't even revealed Ayano yet so they aren't showing the character's dynamics atm.

My thoughts on the episode.

1. This title is literally harem LN from the 00s in its purest form.
2. Why does the accent of the characters in Vladivostok not sound like Japanese speakers speaking Russian, but like Russian speakers with speech impediments? I'm familiar with Japanese accents in Russian and this is far from that. Although for some strange reason the VA of boys again speak more or less.
3. Again a message about the importance of mutual support and the dangers of overworking? Is this a cry for help from the animators?
4. Have all the women in this show had some kind of relationship with the MC in the past and are in love with him?
5. Are the old Japanese hits somehow related to the themes of the original LN? I didn't find the show particularly concerned with the theme of nostalgia, especially since all the characters were born in the mid-00s.

Got some good background information in this episode with finding out that Masachika and Yuki's parents did indeed divorce and it looks like Yuki got her last name from her step dad. Also, got a reveal that Alya has a sister, Masha, whom is most likely Masachika's Russian childhood friend and I think Masha has already realized that.

I think that both Masha and Yuki will end up teasing both Alya and Masachika since they both know Alya likes him but I'm not completely sure if Masha will pull more moves of her own like she did in the tea shop (maybe that was more teasing).

Masha won't tease. She will do something really different.
@DragyG
Really? Thanks for not spoiling but I'm definitely curious as to what Masha does as an anime only. This has been one of my favorite new series that I'm watching this season 👍

@DragyG Is it possible and/or meaningful for them to show the dance scene later in the show and just make it a new flashback?

@RafaBryan Considering how much of a magnet this guy is for the Russians, it looks like he's the real incarnation of Sumipe in the show, not Alya, lmao.

Yeah.

Glad you enjoy Roshidere the novel is really good too if you feel like reading it after the anime.

(There is enough content for 2 seasons atm so if everything goes well you might not need to read, though)

Would be pointless in my opinion except maybe a conversation between Yuki and Masachika before the debate but watch the opening. The dance is already in the anime and already shows what it has to for whoever be smart enough to think about the opening (since it is very good)

1) Depends on what you call harem.
3) Roshidere is a story about growing up and in Alya's case growing up mean learning to rely on others and get people to be your friends.
4) No
5) The endings are related to the episodes but unless you are familiar with Japanese it's indeed pretty hard to get.

Alya's speech will either be in Episode 9 or 10. That felt so damn good to read, so satisfying. The emotions I felt the day when I read that chapter... They still resonate with me.

Loved it to bits.

Because it's a really good scene showing how Masachika will be an indefectible support for Alya's growth and how Alya's determination will be necessary for Masachika to overcome his past. But that's literally what the anime tells from when Alya goes on stage.

In this episode, Does Masha know about Masachika Kuze is her childhood friend?

While watching, I wondered about her expression when she meets Masachika Kuze🤔

@DragyG I don't know what you mean by harem, but to me this show looks like something like Toradora or Haganai in terms of concept and vibe. Sharky altruistic MC, memetic waifu, lots of moe and a semi-idealized semi-realistic school setting.

You misunderstood me a little. I mean, why are they complaining if the scene was moved to the opening?

@DragyG Yes, I was about to say that, but did not want to spoil. But now that you've said it— "Keep your chin up!", he shouted from the right wing of the stage in Russian, making Alya come to her senses. She then realized that she has someone who she could count on more than anyone else in the world~ I can't even put it into words how immensely satisfying that was. That was chef's kiss. (◡ ω ◡)

The more I read the LN, the deeper I fall in love with it~

Yeah Roshidere is really so well written when it comes to characters I can't believe the author actually thought about writting a comedy at the beginning. Even when I exchange some lines with him on Twitter he be joking but what he is writing is clearly no joke. (Even though one chapter per volume remains comedy)

The ED song for this 3rd episode was amazing. This anime has high potential of being a 10 out of 10 imo. So far it's a 9 for me. This was truly unexpected, I was expecting this show to be some mediocre romcom like most of them but its not. Hopefully it keeps up with itself and finish out great. Loved this episode.

I really enjoyed this episode. I'm not sure what compelled me to watch this series since it's outside of my usual wheelhouse, but I'm more and more glad I did with each episode.

It was nice to see some of Alya's past and get an idea why she's a bit solitary and standoffish. She seems to be a very serious person so it does kind of makes sense she'd draw the conclusions she did about not relying on other people.

I already adore Masha and you can tell right off the bat that she was Kuza's childhood friend and the reason he learned Russian. I wonder how sure she is about whether he is the same boy or not, and if she knows he was faking not understanding her speaking to him in Russian. I'm really looking forward to seeing her and Kuze interact more and what effect her presence will have on Kuze and Alya's relationship and interactions.

I'm super excited for the next episode. I almost want to just go ahead and read the LN.. a week feels like too long to wait.

Kuze won Alya's heart, it was so cute to see their flashback, oh Masha is the one in Kuze's flashback I wonder how Masha will interact with Kuze in the future.

No Yuki this episode is a shame, and no fan service I don't know whether to be happy or not.

Omoide ga Ippai covered by Sumippe is very good and as usual the ED visual is very cute to see these two Russian sisters.

Well you can keep watching. There is no love triangle. Only the look of it for some time.

(Actually that thing with Masha wasn't supposed to lead to a love triangle feeling but the way they made it in the anime is a bit misleading)

What a backstory from Alya.

Oh no the sister was the childhood friend... what a twist, it seems like she realized Masachika was him too but did she just back off because of Alya? oh boy this is getting spicy.

Also a little glimpse about Masachika tragic past as well.
