Tamako is asked by the store manager, Bunzou, to help out in the dishwashing area during the night shift. Hana opposes the idea, arguing that the presence of a human would ruin the store's concept.

Just then, Sasaki shows up and begins testing outfits for Tamako to wear while working in the store.

I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

Hmm, Tsuda is still the only reason I watch this. I don't care much about that Krishna tiger as well. Also how did a loser influencer get 30k followers? Well hopefully he won't show up again but I think he might, at some point.

Adorable series so far, and i was really surprised that Takaya Kuroda (Kiryu from the YAKUZA game series) used his voice in today's ep (and hopefully more of em in it!)

Very relaxing iyashikei show that came out of nowhere, or at least, I didn't hear a thing about it before looking into the summer seasonals. Even when I did so and read over this series' page and synopsis, my takeaway or assumption was that it would just be some gag show, which I'm not fond of. Watched it last week, but waited until this week and after episode two to actually add it to my list and know I was going to continue with it.

Having anthropomorphic non-human animals is also a plus, as we need more of such anime in modern times and more shows with that in general. It's something which seemed more prevalent in the past. And thus far this series reminds me most of something like Flying Witch. Very chill low-stakes experience when you step behind the doors of the ramen shop, and even most of the characters are very mellow and relaxed. Plus a few moments of genuinely comical silly/stupid characters doing something bizarre or ridiculous, the main cast addressing it, and then going right back to their usually calm day-to-day affairs.

It's only two episodes into it so it'd be premature to attempt to render some judgment, and I don't like to get overly optimistic so I don't think this will end up becoming something as great as Flying Witch, for example, but it's noteworthy whenever any anime series are reminiscent of that same vibe/aura as they're few and far between. A lot of adjacent series ruin it by getting too comedic or dramatic or too something which detracts from their down to Earth normality (which sounds odd in a way to say that a fantasy series depicting talking cats running a restaurant feels exceptionally down to Earth and "normal", but it does moreso than a lot of other anime). The realism and stoic and casual expressions of some of the characters is a nice contrast with the fantastical premise.

Trivia: The voice actor for Tenpiru (the streamer guy) is Torashima Takaaki, who also has "tiger" on his name. He also happens to voice Bill, a tiger from Beastars.

Still early days but I remain optimistic it will continue to be entertaining throughout the season.

Episode 2-1: Sasaki has great taste when it comes to potential “uniforms” for Tamako 😁 And I liked how he showed his pragmatic side by turning Hana’s objection based on principal into a matter of appearance . It’s clear that Hana has some personal issues with humans in addition to being a contrarian, but she seems to be gradually opening up to Tamako & the ep’s closing scene with Mikio shows it’s possible to earn her trust & affection.

Episode 2-2: The internet influencer really illustrated how obnoxious a lot of them are, insisting that they’re giving free publicity or raising awareness when they’re just feeding their own ego. Tamako made the right call in that causing a scene will just give them the attention they want. And it was nice to see the cat’s have another human ally they can count on. Saori Hayami as Krishna continues to amuse me in the same sense as Satoshi Hino as Fel (Campfire Cooking in Another World).

I love Yashiro's new cat-shinobi outfit. I headcanon Miki as Hana's dad (like she's his pet cat). Kirishina is a tiger? More like shy-ger. She kneads the dough because she is a cat.

@davidyodo24 did you not even listen to the explanations in the very first episode about why she was hired?

Tamako starts her duties, though Hana is still in rejection of a human working in a cat ramen store with Sasaki trying to help Tamako blend in better to the restaurant...and so, a cat-centric disguise it is.

As expected, a stagehand like Tamako has regular customers asking about her, though the busyness of the restaurant doesn't let up, so as long as the job gets done. And even if the fabric gers in the way of her job, Tamako takes pride in her work.

Tamako going to see Krishna of how the noodles are made,, and decides to lend a helping hand being taught for the first time. But there's a commotion outside of an influencer trying to make trouble for the restaurant, and Tamako decides to step in, even if it's out of her comfort zone. In the end, Sasaki having to call for their resident lawyer Mikio to diffuse the situation is a good call, and it's all good.

Having a lawyer friend makes all the difference.

that vlogger was just being disrespectful and his so-called 30K followers aren't really his loyal followers, i think. they just like to watch him get in some drama or whatnot, but that don't mean those viewers/subscribers would come clamoring to the place he just barged in to feature.

good thing miki-chan made an appearance. but i'm wondering about that blonde who offered to call the cops. she seemed interested in miki-chan or wonder who he is. i'm getting addicted to this series lol

Ah this is it, my seasonal dose of 'feel good and relaxing' anime this season. I really hope the story won't get heavier after this ep's incident tho.
